Chapter 26 - Test Start

Tony did not pay much attention to John, adjusted the position of the camera, and walked to the test board.

"The starting point is half a meter behind the center!" Holding the starter in both hands, he took a deep breath.

"Damn, be smart, and pay attention to the fire!" he said to the intelligent manipulator on the side.

"Okay, start manual control." Tony tilted back slightly, trying to stabilize his center of gravity.

John stayed back a bit, watching Tony's first test.

"Let's see how you handle 10% of the axial load. Prepare, three..."

"Wait a minute, Mr. Stark, I think you underestimated the load. How about we try it from 1%?" John interrupted Tony.

Tony didn't have the habit of listening to John and continued counting, "Three, two, one," pressing the buttons in his hands.

The huge impact force rushed up from his feet, shifting his center of gravity back quickly, slamming him into the wall behind him.

John, who was ten meters away, raised his right hand. The shoes that were still spitting flames were instantly fixed in the air as if the huge impact had completely disappeared.

Tony only reacted at this point and hurriedly released the launch button in his hand.

John bent his fingers, and through the parts under Tony's feet and the control tabs in his hands, he steadily pulled Tony back and set him back on the test board.

Tony, who had been thrown off balance, stood firmly on the test board, staring at John in amazement.

"What did you do? How did you do it?" Tony asked, taking off his armor and walking over to John.

"It's just some trivial abilities, but Mr. Stark, you haven't slept all night, and you've already determined that you need the assistance of a flight stabilizer to adjust your center of gravity, right?"

Tony sat back in front of his computer desk, watching a large amount of data. "The impact is indeed greater than I thought. The flight aid is set up very well. I can install it on both hands. Let's make adjustments to the final spray device. Your suggestion is good!"

"Mr. Stark, I think you need to rest!"

"It's only been thirty-six hours. I'm at my most awake right now. How about the device erupting in the palm of my hand?"

Tony became a little excited again, with many ideas in his head, and he began to sketch.

John leaned over and looked at the rows of data on the screen. After a while, his eyes started to glaze over. "Mr. Stark, don't worry. I think you'd better go to sleep and eat something!"

Tony didn't stop his work. He continued tapping the keyboard, watching various design schemes and graphics pop up from the computer. John shrugged and left the basement.

Tony didn't care, only the idea of a flight aid and the entire Mark 2 frame occupied his mind.

Not long after, Tony, who was still brainstorming, suddenly smelled the fragrance of food.

A bowl of hot noodles appeared beside him, and John held a large bowl of noodles nearby.

"If you don't want to sleep, don't sleep. But you still need to eat!" John put the noodles in front of him.

"Mr. Stark, this design is good. How long do you think it will take to complete it?" John asked, looking at the drawings on the computer.

Tony looked at the little guy in front of him, then at the bowl of noodles. "Did you make this?"

"Of course, try it. It tastes very good. I've been cooking since I was six years old!"

"Your adoptive parents didn't feed you?" Tony's stomach was empty, so he picked up the noodles and started eating with a fork.

"No, I eat a lot. I often cook for myself!" John said, staring at the spray device on the computer.

This device is the most important function of the Mark II, and it is also the purpose of Tony Stark for the Mark II, flying.

"Mr. Stark, I'm really happy to see the birth of Mark II. I can't wait to see it." John's face showed an expectant smile.

Tony looked at the enthusiastic boy, pushed the bowl aside, and touched his warm stomach, smirking.

But he got up to work immediately, continuing to design the parts at hand.

John didn't bother Tony. Tony seemed to have accepted John's presence, allowing him to wait aside without driving him away.

Three hours later, all the parts had been designed, and a three-dimensional workbench was projected on the side, displaying a three-dimensional model.

Tony made further design adjustments to the physical appearance, and once all the parts were modeled together, he started operating.

He stretched his arm into the projection, as if he was really equipping the armor, and made the final adjustments following his movements.

Seeing this smooth and impressive operation, John's heart beat frantically.

Time seemed to fly by in the basement.

The first finished product was finally made. Tony took the connector and connected it to the Arc reactor on his chest.

He buckled the device on his arm, preparing for the first experiment.

John suddenly looked out the door and saw Pepper holding a square box wrapped in kraft paper and a cup of coffee as she opened the door and walked in.

Pepper looked surprised to see John there.

Because aside from himself, only Rhodey had been allowed in here.

"I've been calling you, haven't you heard the intercom ring?" Pepper said to Tony, who was wearing the device.

"Well, everything is fine...what did you say?" Tony replied absent-mindedly, then realized.

"Obadiah is waiting for you upstairs." Pepper put the things down.

"Okay, I see, I'll go up now!" Tony continued to equip the flight stabilizer on his hand.

Pepper turned to John and said, "Hey, kid, I was wondering where you've been. Why did you come to the studio?"

"I will protect Mr. Stark!"

"Really, how do you plan to protect him?" Pepper stood beside John and saw the device in Tony's hand. Two pieces of metal auxiliary equipment were put on his arm, with a glowing circular exit in the palm of his hand.

"Didn't you say you don't make weapons anymore?"

"This is just a flight stabilizer, it doesn't cause much damage." Tony pressed the energy-gathering button on the table confidently.

The light on his palm grew stronger. Before he could react, a shock wave of energy shot out in a linear shape. The huge impact threw Tony, who had no auxiliary equipment, backward in an instant.

Pepper was terrified by the loud sound, covering her ears. John stretched out his hand, and several meters away, he firmly grasped Tony again.

"That's it!" John said, putting Tony down on the tool table and shrugging.
