Chapter 29 - Exercises

John looked at the extremely manic man in front of him and couldn't help squeezing the newspaper in his hand.

"It seems you did it!"

John took a step back gently, flipped his palm, and the black knife that had fallen aside floated into the air.

It turned into a black light and pierced through the man's chest, penetrating the entire car body and embedding into the concrete floor, stained with a trace of blood.

The man felt a sharp pain in his chest and didn't even have time to scream. Blood gushed out, soaking the ground around him, and his strength vanished instantly.

He gave John one last look of disbelief before his head dropped, and he stopped moving.

John's eyes twitched as he reached out and retrieved the three metal pieces fixed on the man's body, as well as his six hundred dollars and his phone, using metal wires to nail the newspaper to the car's body.

"Sigh."

He turned around and left, flying low into a small alley on the edge of the city. He exited, stopped a car, went to the supermarket, and continued to buy what he needed, but he never smiled along the way.

He ordered ten cheeseburgers and five fries at the fast food restaurant nearby. In short, he took a taxi with three packages of food and arrived at an open space one kilometer away from Tony's house.

Getting out of the car, he walked the rest of the way, watching the taxi leave. John accelerated back to Tony's house, entered the gate, walked several hundred meters, and finally returned to the house.

Pepper seemed not to have moved during this hour, still sitting on the sofa working on her computer. Seeing John holding food, she was a little surprised.

"John, did you really go to the city alone?" She watched as John took out the hot hamburgers and placed them on the table.

"Of course, I have money, so I can stop a car!" John replied somewhat disapprovingly.

"John, you are still young. It is dangerous outside at night. Robberies happen every day. I dare not stay outside for too long at night."

Pepper patted John with concern, "John, don't go out alone next time. Tomorrow, I will ask the nanny to buy more food. You can stay with Tony at home."

"Well, Sister Pepper, how many burgers do you want?"

"One is fine, thank you, John."

"Yeah, I'm going downstairs. Mr. Stark didn't eat dinner either."

John walked down carrying the big bags. Pepper sat back in front of the computer, looked at the warm hamburger in her hands, and laughed.

"Mr. Stark, I went to the city to buy some food. Come and have some; I got your favorite cheeseburger."

John took two cheeseburgers and placed them next to Stark, who was still busy at the computer.

Tony took a look, reached out and grabbed one, opened it, and started eating. "John, are you okay?"

"Huh? What's wrong?"

"It's okay. I just improved the program. I'm going to import it and test it again." Tony tapped the keyboard a few times, and the core of the robotic flight stabilizer on the side lit up again.

It began to work again. Although John usually played a supporting role, he could still help.

Disassembling equipment, and by the way, protecting Mr. Stark, who might hit the wall, catch fire, or need to turn off the equipment.

Early the next morning, Tony smiled tiredly, looking at the steady impact and the flight stabilizer that could adjust the strength at any time.

Tony Stark, who had not slept for nearly sixty hours, returned to his room and fell asleep.

John looked at the messy studio and the robotic arm "Dum-E" that had been cleaning. It was a graduation project that Tony made when he graduated from MIT at the age of seventeen.

Tony had told Pepper earlier, "Nostalgia is not my characteristic."

However, he had never abandoned this "Dum-E," which was sometimes not so smart and a little obstructive.

John floated gently in the air, and when he lifted his hands, all the metal products or items with metal components flew up by themselves and were placed where they should be.

In less than 30 seconds, the entire studio was completely renewed and organized.

"Jarvis, is there anything else that needs adjustment?" John asked while looking at the empty studio.

There was no movement, only the sound of Dum-E's moving robotic arm.

John was disappointed but recovered quickly.

'After all, it's only been two days. Take your time, don't worry!'

He comfortably picked up some design drafts and books from the ground and put them on the table.

Just as John was about to step out.

"Mr. John, according to Mr. Stark's work habits, the wrench on the left side of the workbench should be placed on the second layer on the right, and the welding torch and rosin on the right side should be placed on the bottom of the left."

Jarvis's voice sounded in the studio behind him.

"Okay, Jarvis." John's mouth curled up.

...

John went back to his room and continued to practice.

Six hours later, John opened his eyes, and another piece of metal was absorbed, turned into a dim piece of metal, and piled in the corner.

'Control Point: 80'

"Strength 16 Defense 19 Speed 9 Spirit 19"

'Skill: D-level metal control and D-level physical enhancement'

'Strengthening: Golden Eye (100%) Copper Sheet (100%) Steel Bar (49%) Iron Bone (0%)'

'Derivative technique: Desperate Golden Eyes (Do not be fooled by any ability, see through all phantoms, enhances visual observation, metalized objects)'

'Don't move the golden body (enhance great defense power, stand on the ground with both feet, you will have infinite physical strength, the body will recover faster, and will not be moved by an external force)'

With golden light in his eyes, he could clearly observe the changes in his body, but the changes in his internal organs were not significant.

However, every meridian in his body, or blood vessels, veins, arteries, including capillaries, had become much tougher, and they seemed to have strengthened to a critical point.

He grasped his fist, and the burst of blue veins seemed to emit a slight light.

'Every time you strengthen to 50%, your body changes its appearance. I wonder what it will be this time.'

Looking around, Tony Stark was exercising in the gym on the second floor.

John thought for a while, walked up, and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

"Mr. Stark, what do you want for lunch?" John asked while looking at the hot sun from the gym window.

"Huh, forty-nine, fifty, huh." Tony panted and got up from the bench press.

"I invited two chefs over to cook, and Pepper said you can eat very well, so this time I'll make sure you're full." Tony wiped his sweat and looked at John.

"You're eleven years old, but you're so short. Is it caused by your superpowers? Is it a side effect?"

John walked over, picked up the barbell Tony had just used for bench press, and lifted it gently as if the barbell was made of wood.

"John, I think I should check your body this afternoon!"

Looking at John, who was spinning the barbell in his hand, Tony took two steps back.
