"Wait, what if messing with this stuff wakes it up, i mean you said it had a dormant state, well it has to be in it right now, otherwise we'd be dead already." Damon said just as Calvus was about to pluck a purple and pink colored fruit from a tree.
They looked at each other with thoughtful eyes. They hadn't ate any of the fruit on the trees yet because they didn't recognize any of them and had no way to know if they were safe. It was a choice fang made while Damon was unconscious.
Calvus was going to store a few in his space ,but after their little talk, fear got the best of him. They had already had it pretty rough and he didn't want to make it worse in which Fang thought the same as well.
"Better to leave a sleeping giant, sleep." Fang said.
After speaking on the subject for a while, they eventually moved on. They truly believed the beast was Dormant at the moment, or was hoping it was. Its the only thing that made sense.
They headed further in the forest because Calvus was set on showing Damon the beautiful turquoise glowing stream.
Before they left though, Fang noticed the field of ferns that burned like small embers were nearly gone, someone.....or something had snatched them out of the ground.
He glanced at Damon with thoughtful eyes for a moment, but said nothing.
While walking, Damon saw many things he had yet stored. When neither of them were looking he would quickly pluck or snatch herbs up and store them.
Reaching the stream Damon was amazed how beautiful it was. The turquoise sparkled with fine crystal like sand and Calvis wasted no time jumping in without hesitation after stripping down to his undergarments.
"Wooo, man that first rush of coolness never gets old. Its a little warmer on the other side, but this part is cool. Come on in I promise you won't regret it." He Said while doing a few back strokes.
Fang got in as well, but kept his face covering on. Taking off his shirt Damon was about to hop in when he decided to check something.
[Emiction of the white Diamond back Caiman.]
A powerful fluid that constantly spreads its will/aura to ward off beasts. Can be used to create special elixer.]
Ding!
[Collect the urine of the white Diamond back beast.]
Right after using oversee he had received a task. Damons mouth became salty and watery in seconds as his cheeks puffed up like he was going to throw up.
He looked at them while holding his mouth trying to swallow his thoughts.
"Dude, are you ok."
"He seems ill." Said Fang.
"Ye... ye... yes. I'm...I'm good... I think..... I think I'm just really dehydrated. " He stuttered trying to get his mind together.
He then took out two large flasks handing it to Calvus asking him to fill them up while stating how thirsty he was as well. The flasks were among the items he chose before entering the portal.
"I think I'll go eat something first, I'll be back."
He also made sure he could use fangs grilling table before he hurried off through the forest.
"He's hiding something." Fang said getting up on the bank of the stream.
"Ha, of course he is, so are you and so am I." Responded Calvus as he floated on his back like he didn't have a care in the world.
Fang looked at him with glacial glistened eyes.
"You don't find that troubling, how did he know to dig back there?.....How did he know how to deal with those panda foxes back at home base, and the level of the beast that we managed to kill.... It seems he has a way of seeing or finding out things we can't understand in normal circumstances."
"It took all of that for you to figure that out, you're more seasoned than us, but you're only a year older right ?"
"A year and a half, almost two." Fang said.
Fang looked at him with side eyes wondering what Calvus was trying to say. Seeing Fangs stare, he stopped swimming and stood up.
"Like I said before. You're hiding things as well. We all are, we really don't know each other very well. It's because of our current circumstances we are together now."
"It doesn't matter what he's hiding, I'm sure it's just another weird skill of his. It's perfectly fine if he doesn't want to share it with us. One thing I'm sure of though is, he's not a bad person. If it was something he knew that would put us at risk im sure he would tell us."
"He saved our asses back there, we could have been spider food. Getting wrapped up like leftovers or something." Calvus said.
"Just relax a little, what guild you say you were trying to join, and what's with the face covering ?."
"I didn't say and my face covering is none of your business."
"Exactly." Calvus said while positioning himself to float again with a smile smeared on his face.
"Damn you." Fang mumbled.
"Ya know, a year and a half older isn't much, You're practically a kid as well. You're just following orders to join a guild."
Fang got up storming off while Calvus continued relaxing.
Damon had made it back to the tree cavity, along the way he killed and stored many of the flying insects and bugs that were all around. He wasn't going to let the opportunity of collecting so many rare crafting ingredients fly by him.
Opening his storage he felt he had done pretty good. He had a substantial amount of many things and majority of them he didn't take the time to understand or learn what they were.
Aftering touching them or using oversee, as long as he saw craftable or craft material, he stored it. He planned to harvest as much as he could without them noticing for the time they were there.
He also had all the bodies of the spiders he killed thanks to the auto harvest skill. It turned out he got twice as lucky seeing four of them released a soul beast core.
A light smirk was on his face and he began laughing silently while thinking about them swimming in beast piss. He held his stomach laughing harder picturing Calvus performing back strokes basking in the stream of urine.
Activating his coms device and seeing it was late in the day, he ate quickly. He still had to finish his daily tasks which now included crafting one new item a day. That was another reason he had to collect as much as he could.
Just as he was leaving he heard something hit the ground further in the back of the cavity. He saw a rainbow colored beetle the size of his hand flipped over on its back. It was the biggest insect he had seen there besides the large grub worms that could be found a foot or so in the soft soil.
[Prism bow scarab- high maturity grade 3- an insect beast with a incredibly durable and strong shell that reflects/repels darkness. Its drawn to specific soul core illuminations. Usually harmless but when threatened can be very dangerous.]
[Strengths- extremely tough shell and sharp barbed legs.]
[Weakness- overwhelming physical strength/pressure or deep waters.]
Damon was baffled, it was a high grade 3 beast, but it was so little compared to normal beasts. It was the highest beast he had seen so far and it was almost completely harmless according to the system.
"It's extremely high defense must be the reason it's level is so high." He thought while noting in his head levels of beasts can be determined by different aspects of a beast.
Damon watched it struggle until it finally flipped itself over. It crawled right past him ignoring him going inside a hole. He didn't bother trying to kill or capture it because he knew he couldn't.
All of the other bugs and insects he killed were not considered a beast, but they were still rare and useful according to the system so it was fairly easy to kill and store them.
Looking through the hole and feeling around it, he could see a bright white ball of light. Every few seconds flickering of shadows zoomed by and the sound of wings flapping creating a humming sound entered his ears.
Crack! Crack!
"Oh shiiii."
Boom!
Falling on his back, it took him a moment as dust was everywhere. He coughed while waving his hand trying to fan the dust out of his way as he stood up looking around. Looking up, he had fallen at least 10 meters down.
"Myyyy life." He mumbled with a aggravated exhale.
Zoom!
An object flew past his ear cutting it slightly, wincing in sudden pain for a second he grabbed his ear looking around when he noticed the illuminated sphere from before.
It was in the center of the small room with roots that looked like organic tissue like blood vessels of some kind holding it up.
[White diamond back Caiman - soul beast core. Maturity level Grand prime extremely super rare. Can be crafted into various powerful weapons with a focus of cutting]
Captured by its features he took a step closer. It was unlike any beast orb he had seen. It was covered in white scales and looked to be beating like a heart. The core looked alive in a fleshy manner as it moved like it was breathing.
Other beast cores he had seen were like a simple glass orb or snowball fixure, but this was something totally different. He could tell it was powerful, way beyond what he had ever imagined a grand prime beast was.
Stepping closer he was hit again, a long cut appeared on his face making him step back. Looking around he finally saw what it was. He was so distracted by the the soul core he didn't realize he was surrounded by prism bow scarabs.
They were all over the walls crawling, majority of them were a high grade 3 beast and not one was lower than mid matured.
They crawled in positioning themselves in every nook and cranny of the walls. It soon became obvious they didn't want him near the soul core and he could tell as his face and ear was dripping with blood with every step he took towards it.
Ding!
[Optional - take the Grand prime soul beast core for yourself. It can be of great use for the future.]
