Chapter 54 - I hate spiders

"Ruuuuuun"

Damon and Calvus took off while Fang covered the forest floor with ice as far he could behind them.

The top of the trees began shaking as spiders were seen jumping from tree to tree in pursuit.

Clouds formed in Damons hand twisting into tomahawks. A spider leaped out a tree in front of them and was met with a cloud tomahawk in the air, Damon began throwing them left and right as quick as he could make them.

Fang shot out ice sickles and constantly made heavy frost spread on the ground with every step he took. The spiders on the ground were having a difficult time crawling around on the ice, but they were quickly getting the hang of it.

Seeing the ones in the back gaining on them Damon casted down pour. Within seconds the frost became extremely slippery stopping majority of them in their tracks as they tumbled over eachother.

The ones in the trees were the main issue now. Calvus blinked up ahead swinging at many who were trying to close in on them from the front.

This went on for a while, fang poured out a ton of energy making it more challenging for the ones behind them, while carefully trying not to hender Calvus and Damon's ability to run.

"Damn it, How much of this place is there territory." Damon shouted.

A few minutes later which seemed like forever they ran out the forest and was now facing a mountain.

Looking back they could still see swarms of spiders coming as all of their efforts did nothing but slow them down.

"We have to climb or we're dead, Let's go." Shouted Calvus.

As they climbed so did the spiders, Fang continued creating icy layers behind them which was now on the mountain side. Damon stopped his rain as it was slowing them down as well. The rocks were incredibly slippery at certain parts and his rain was making it worse. He didn't have the focus to make his rain affect specific areas of the mountain side.

"You guys, we have to do something quick, I've used too much energy slowing them down. I can't keep doing this at a wide range." Fang shouted breathing heavily.

Many of the spiders that followed them straight up kept sliding back and falling down, but many were coming from the sides as well. Fang didn't have enough energy to cover their sides and they were moving in fast.

Damon was in the lead and had made it further up much faster than them. It was like he was a spider himself.

Pulling himself up on a rock that stuck further out then many on the mountain side Damon eyes lit up with relief.

"Up here, hurry, hurry."

The rock was big enough for him to stand, it was like a huge slab that hung off the mountain. Getting up he could see they had a slim chance of making it up in time as he saw what looked like the entire nest. Hundreds of spiders crawling from almost every direction.

Calvus and Fang were more skilled than Damon, but when it came to strength they didn't compare. Pulling himself up was easy, and luckily he had done a little wall climbing within their cave a few times for strength training so he had the advantage.

With his mind scrambled with so many thoughts, It was only one he acted on.

Clouds swirled at his finger tips, the next second multiple arrow shaped clouds flew down as he gestured with his hands. He aimed for the ones on the side. Cloud arrows pierced their legs and body slowing a few down.

His arrows barely cut through their defenses, it was more like small thorns in their sides than arrows.

Over thirty arrows formed again and again and again. Over time, sweat began pouring from him and his body began to hurt and become heavy. He knew he was pushing past his stamina limits as it was linked to his stamina stat and not his plasma pool.

He only was giving them seconds more with his actions, but at that point every second counted. Reaching out as he got closer Damon was able to pull Calvus up.

"Go, crawl through that hole. We can get fang to seal the entrance."

Calvus laid on his stomach while taking out a light orb and began crawling through, Damons body began trembling as he conjured 3 more batch of arrows at once, giving him a total of 90 at one time.

The moment he did, he could feel an unbalanced wave shift around in his head. With gritted teeth and determination, he blinked a few times attempting to stabilize his wavering vision.

"Haaaaaa " he screamed releasing them.

The spiders he hit screeched in pain, but kept moving, He became even more lightheaded and nearly fell off the ledge, but managed to make his body fall backwards instead.

Finally making it to the ledge Fang saw the hole and knew what to do.

Thinking quickly he positioned Damon by the hole and crawled on top off him backwards into the hole dragging him through as well. The spiders rushed the hole sticking their legs in trying to reach them, but they were too big.

Fang sealed it freezing it as thick as he could trapping a few of the spiders stretched out limbs, with the constant banging and stabbing at the ice he knew they would break it eventually

"Heyyy, keep coming down, you guys gotta see this." Shouted Calvus.

"It's seems, It's pretty hard crawling backwards on your stomach. Especially while pulling someone." Fang thought.

He placed his hands on the walls and covered it in ice, making a ice tunnel. They slid down shooting out the hole hitting the ground rolling.

Fang and Calvus looked over Damon for a minute and sighed in relief. They knew he was unconscious due to the lack of energy flowing through his body, but he was fine. The next minute, Fang's jaws dropped to the floor as pink, green, blue, red, yellow, Florescent hue's lit up the area as he looked around.

"It's crazy beautiful isn't it." Calvus said.

"Yes, but I'm sure it's also crazy dangerous as well. Come on we have to find a place to hide. Help me with him."

They walked through a small colorful forest that glowed in the dark. The plant life all around had somekind of florescent color to them. It was amazing, but scary at the same time. The strangest thing about it was it felt like the forest was alive in some way.

Glowing fireflies of all colors sprung from the vegetation as they walked through. Hearing running water in the distance, they followed the sound until they reached a very small turquoise color stream that was four meters wide.

It was very shallow reaching only a four or so feet deep. Crossing the stream, the water was unusually warm and left a turquoise crystal like residue on their legs and waist. They followed it for a while eventually reaching a huge tree.

They saw it had a large cavity within it that lead underneath the tree and dragged Damon in after checking it. Inside the cavity Fang and Calvus sat up leaning against the roots.

"It seems he's ok. He depleted all of his energy back there, so he will be out for a while. Overexerting your abilities can cause severe exhaustion. "

"Yea I know he did, He saved our asses back there for sure though. Dude climbs like a monkey" Calvus said with a light laugh.

"Yea, you're right, I couldn't keep up with him, it was like he had four arms and four legs the way he was moving. Hell he might as well have been part spider back there." Fang added laughing.

"This cavity is pretty big, I'll search around and make sure there are no threats here." You should seal the hole and try and get some rest, you're on the verge of exhaustion as well.

Calvus explored the area with caution, but could tell their was a good chance of no threats. For some reason the entire place seemed peaceful and unbotherd by any signs of life besides glowing insects and other small bugs that seemed harmless.

As he went deeper he noticed a slight glow through a hole in the ground. Stepping near it, he realized the ground was hollow wood.

He didn't want to fall through and so he turned around not knowing if the whole area was weak. The cavity was at least twenty or so meters wide, which was perfect for them to rest and recover.

Calvus returned shortly finding Fang asleep next to Damon,he sat next to them keeping his eyes peeled and paying attention to the most subtle movements and noises.

"I don't know if we will ever get off this Rock of a planet."

Hours later Fang was up and Calvus had set up camp. Fang joined him after placing Damon inside one of the tents. They decided to wait until Damon woke up to explore beyond the tree cavity to the large underground cavern that felt like an entire different place.

Many hours later, Damon slowly opened his eyes.

Damon blinked many times with confusion as he sat up looking at all the notifications. He didn't kill any of the spider beasts. Not directly.

"Indirectly must count also, I knocked a few of them off the mountain and they must have died from the fall, It still counted it as a kill." He thought.

Calvus and Fang ran towards the tent thinking something was wrong.

"Damon you're awake, are you ok."

Looking at them while glancing around the tent he realized they must have gotten away, he took in a deep breath and exhaled allowing his head to fall back on the floor with light smirk.

"Yea, I just I hate spiders."
