Eleonora gazed toward the stained-glass window. Outside, the snow was still falling, though it was no longer as heavy as yesterday and the day before.
"So, who is he?" Eleonora asked Sebas.
Sebas, her head butler, looked toward the stout man who stood silently with his head bowed. The man appeared extremely restless at that moment.
"I—I used to be a gardener for the Bernadine family. My name is Antonio."
Eleonora now turned her gaze toward the stout man. Some time after she had decided to end her engagement and dismiss all the servants originally hired by Effie Bernadine, she had indeed opened many vacancies to fill the void. Despite very strict background checks, she had still been caught off guard.
"What are you doing here? Spying?" Eleonora asked with an angry tone.
