Third person POV
The next day, Shu guided Gen and Arashi to his lab because he wanted to show them something. Gen and Arashi was confused by what he was doing, but the duo willing to see what Shu wanted to show him. In his lab, Shu showed a flask of seemingly clear liquid. "This is what I call the Template Serum."
"What is that?" Gen was utterly confused.
"Woah, you made that?" Arashi was dumbfounded while adjusting glasses with red plastic frames surrounding the lens.
Putting the flask down, Shu nodded and replied, "It is a special serum where you can replicate any liquid-like serum into a uniform copy of it."
Gen was surprised. "Woah, how did you manage to make that?"
"That looked strange and unique," Arashi added.
"Well…" Shu responded while glancing at his vial stand and then back at the duo, "...I tinkered a lot in this lab and made that and…."
"Do you think it could replicate the cure I'll soon discover and make?" Gen replied.
"Yes, any liquid you could think of…"
Gen brightened up at Shu. "You're a genius! That'll be a good help to our solution to the zombie outbreak!"
"You're a psychology student, right?" Arashi was dumbfounded for the second time. "You can tinker with chemicals now?"
"Yeah…" Shu was moderately overwhelmed, "…just something to do to help out…you know…"
His red and black spiral-bound notebook was under the table.
Meanwhile, in the underground laboratory, Nato and Hayate were feeding the caged zombies, including Hoka, food in the form of fried steaks, some nattō, fish, and vegetables. They and the other rotating soldiers do this 3 times a day.
Nato shared his latest story about Shu surviving the insane and impossible of being shot by a zombie sniper.
He remarked, "As if his body refused to die…"
"Insane as hell, man…" Hayate replied back as the zombies were eating their meals in their containment cells, "...I hoped this outbreak wouldn't be like Covid-19 again…"
"I hoped so…"
Meanwhile, Mara and Martha are preparing for another crunch of clearing zombie hordes today.
