*Resistance: Physical attack=( 1.0)
Alexander stood up from the ground where Kalani unceremoniously placed him. No worse for ware. The suit was perfectly fine. It's fibers were made of an advanced material that protected its Wearer from basic non-hunter damage. The assistant explained that small scuffles do take place over materials at the Foundry over certain Artefacts. Protecting their customers was their number one priority.
"Are you hurt?" She asked, blushing slightly. The commotion drew a little attention from the other masked customers around them briefly. When nothing came of the commotion, it quickly lost the crowds attention.
"I'm good, just a little sore. I was used to being flipped during the first week of training hand to hand with Nakamura. I'm sure they can just bill us for the damages to the floor."
"I'm suprised your fine that quickly. You seem sturdier and your reflexes are a handfull faster.. Wait! When did you enter into D rank?"
'I'll tell you on the way. Lets get outa here before they think were crashers.'
'This resistance skill.. can it be used for other things other than physical resistance? Could it get so powerful that I become invulnerable to all attacks? I should test this out as soon as possible. Is it possible to gain elemental resistance from affecting myself with magic?' Alexander wondered while telling Kalani about the Vampire and Geralts amazing help.
"Thats amazing. I'm glad he was there to help, but we would have loved to help you out too, Alexander. If you use that communicator we all shared our contact info into. We would have been there in a nano second to help. Thats the place."
"I know, but I want to be able to handle my own problems first. But I appreciate it. If I need some help in the future I hope you could help me out. This place looks nice."
The restaurant was a simple buffet place with nice decore and a comfy atmosphere. They seated them immediately. Making room for them in the VIP room. Their dinner was wonderful as they talked about the things he bought and the Akamai clan.
"Elder, has there ever been any special types among Hunter's? Specifically speaking about anyone displaying abnormal abilities not none or hardly known?" Alexander asked.
'This will hit two birds. One with my own abilities, seeing if it is normal to get stronger from outside sources. Two I can get some information about any mysterious unknown things A'rathèl was so worried about. Either way, any information would be a boon.'
"I would say our, Kalani is one such anomaly. Out of the six elements, darkness is the least used, but my granddaughter has both affinities for Light and Darkness. Unheard of in the world as of now, because light and darkness usally oppose each other. Resulting in neither ever reaching a level of mastery beyond first level."
Kalani nodded affirmatively towards the Elder. "Agreed, my progress is nearing the edge of C rank. I will soon pass Kahawai as I thought."
Alexander saw her for the first time in a new light. Not the demon of war but a human like him. He felt the responsibility she probly had as a daughter of the Akamai weighed on her constantly. He felt a smidgen of her pain and he felt a twing of a string in his heart tear for her.
"I wanted to train more in magic, Elder. Could you do me a favor for the next training session?" Alexander hinted, getting a positive nod at his suggestion.
"That sounds doable. I also have some things I would like you to give a try."
They finished their meal. Giving their thanks to the traditional cooks. It was late afternoon when Geralt drove them home. They took Kalani with them as they had some room.
"Where are we going, new Grandpa?" Seraphina asked, seeing a different street than normal. Long trees evenly dotted the paved road.
"We're going to the Akamai Estate. It's where Ive been gooing every day. Your going to love it Gray, its got the latest everything." Alexander responded from memory of the way there.
The afternoon sun had began to set just behind the estate. The banners and balloons set up for their arrival, swayed in the updraft. Banners with Seraphina, Grey, and Quin's name embroidered on
Wow!
The home celebration was friendly and filled with amazing food just for the kids. Snacks and a large cake with frosting especially made for Gray.
Nakamura, Fox, and Max all came to celebrate and welcome them. With the team and his siblings under the same roof, Alexander realized his whole world was far smaller than he imagined. Everyone loved Gray and Seraphina. Quin hit it off immediately with Max and they couldn't stop talking about advanced engines.
The party died down late into the night. Everyone was showed their rooms. Change of clothes were provided and a nice hot shower cleansed everyone of their fatigue.
Alexander chose to train more as he sat in the back of the estates training grounds in a lotus position. Using the outside area to practice Synergy, Alexander and Lunaris's breathing technique, to solidify his Core.
Lunaris aided in his strengthening, his mana system by using the nanites to reinforce and adjust his mana circulation system. The mana system pulsed evenly from his core to ever inch of his body.
Most children, when creating their mana systems, go with what they have been taught. Focusing more on strength or the fastes way to get mana out of thier core to a certain area they need. Like feet for speed, eyes for mna sight, or hands for healers..Etc.
Alexander had created a mana system that reached ever inch of his body, so that he had full range of his mana. The multitude of pathways, much like a human circulatory system, allowed the mana to quickly gt to where he wanted it to go.
He took out a good chunk of his Artefacts he had bought earlier and all the weapons he had from the Goblin gate. The swords and shields all lay flat on the dirt next to the other trinkets. A great hual he thought as joy spread through him as he let the nanites go to work.
The swarm covered the swords and shields first, devouring the metal entirely like ants to a leaf. Alexanders sadness at losing his first gate weapons was soon turned to joy, when the nanites reformed.
The swarm landed in his palm like smoke, combining atoms together to form the sword and shield he had just sacrificed. By copying the weapons down to the atom the nanites could reshape themselves by following the blueprints and connecting together.
'Your reform ability is freaking amazing. To bad you have to destroy the item to do it. I could jave sold that for a dragons horde pf gold.' Alexander contemplated while feeding the rest of the Artefacts to the swarm.
'Further upgrades from stronger materials may prove to fix that problem. The stronger the material the more upgrades to the nanites I can acomplish. However you will need to have a stronger body in order to handle the new upgrades and strain having a larger swarm inside your body.'
The nanite swords blade was the size of a short sword, black with a pulsing white glow in tandem with the shield. The shield had a large reddish orange gem, which Lunaris used to scan her surroundings without Alexanders sight.
'This is earth? Intresting.' She thought, noticing the difference in looking through her own eyes and Alexanders.
'How is it? Its prety dark right now so don't let it get you down to bad.'
'No we see it just fine... its just the bug life is very numerous. We will up the protection protocols for your exposed orifices.'
After some time practicing with the sword, Lunaris sent out a pulse of mana, scanning the area for what Alexander hunted for.
The cool breeze of the water drafted through the forest, buffering him from the humid air every so often. 'A plus of having a rich nemesis, you get to enjoy their things.' Alexander thought happily.
'I have located something. A low signature is directly north of us. The mana signature is positive to be a Gate. The waves are slighty stronger than the Chaosbreak the goblins gate gave off.'
Traveling further from the estate than he had ever traveled, he came to a glowing crevice in the night. It had a signature red glow for the weakest of Gates peering through.
'Good job, partner. Keep an eye out for me.'
"..pft.."
'....'
Alexander brandished the blade like a cleaver, carving the crevice wider. Opening the rock enough for him to reach into and enter the Gate.
A feeling familiar and warm feeling caressed him as he went into the Gate. Whether it was a memory or a wish from his heart, He wondered before the feeling faded and he dropped into the edge of an island.
The Gate opened to a dark tropical island surrounded by a desolate swamp, lit by a blazing dubble sun. The whole area was covered in a thick warm Fog, spreading wide between leafless trunks of trees draped in moss and marshes covered in the same.
Dozens of deep croaks of wildlife and a chorus of buzzing insect wings harmonized to each other. A place like this could only sustain the most hardened life.
Alexander moved slowly, using the foot technique Kalani used by substituting her explosive technique with wind and fire. Using the combination like a small jet he could train and move grate distances with.
'This is an F-ranked gate? There is no way. Those are kobolds, from what the books in the estate described. They hunt in packs and are resistant to most low tier magic. Unlucky for them, I'm not going to use much magic.' Alexander set traps up and down the area Lunaris calculated the kobolds would attack. When he was ready to begin his work a certain suprise would happen.
'I think we have reached our limit of traps. Five wires is the max, but I feel that could change soon. Just wrap it around the smaller tress and then the bigger ones. Now to lure in my first guest.'
Alexander took his time with the first Kobold team that made its patrol near his trap. Luring them with his scent in bursts thanks to the nanites.
The Kobolds were a large fox like huminoid creature with a terrible disposition. Most have brown or dark colored fur covering their bodies, armed with weapon like claws and powerful senses.
One Kobolds nose twitched through the air cautiously attracted to Alexanders smell like bait to fish
Lurking behind the group of five was Alexander, who planned to spring his trap when they stopped moving. The kobolds ears rose up to a noise behind it, turning to sniff the air angrily. A couple of feet more and the trap would be sprung.
To his dismay the Kobold and its canine legs made its way with its pack of four to were Alexander was qucker than he anticipated.
With only four wires set up to trap the beasts, five beast would be a problem.
'Curse the Gods!'
The Beasts sniffed the entire way as they carefully spilt up into two while scampering.
The leader stayed behind to give orders like a captain. It growled and barked to hurry them. Aggitated at the time it took the younger ones to find anything. It's bones ached from the weather and it hated being away from its mate for to long.
Alexander stayed where he was, in front of them now. The wires were the only defense, besides his shield, to stop the luggard beasts.
The shields jewel glowed in the shadow of the trees as a red light scanned the beasts. Lunaris's analysis of the Kobolds was as through as she cold get while limited by Alexanders growth. Lunaris calculated their speed and strength as much as possible with the time she had. Her first attempt to help using her own eyes.
The first to fall into Alexanders trap was the closest too him. The first to pick up his scent, it howled and sprinted towards Alexander with all abandon.
The thought of tasting whatever creature hid behind the trees made its mouth salivate. The Kobold was the fool of the group and wanted to make the captain happy for once. It was tired of eating scraps and leftovers.
Alexander crouched, ready to spring backwards at any hint of failure.
Arrghh! Whimper!
The Kobold jumped at Alexanders position, leaping strongly with its back legs into the razor sharp edge of the first wire. The ends wrapped round the beast like spider silk, cuting deeply into its flesh, the nanites seeped into its skin.
The Kobold couldn't speak or howl from the pain it experienced, intense and quick enough to knock it out. Its body twitched in its death throws as nanites made its waty throught its nervous system.
Lunaris made sure to paralyze its limbs as quickly as possible while finishing it off, but with a single thread of nanites it was progressing slowly.
The other Kobolds heard the thrashing of their teammate. Laughing at its theatrics. Instead of following Lunaris's prediction they turned to see what their leader commanded. Like trained soldiers, they awaited their orders hungrily.
The Grey Kobold growled and sneered at the noise, taking big sniffs at the air in Alexander's direction. Unconceened with the creatures well being. It commanded the other three to go together and search, not moving from its spot. Waiting for Alexander to make a mistake.
'Great. Atleast they are all coming from the same way. Let see what happens. Plan an escape route for me, Lunaris. Seems this is about to get complicated.' Alexander gripped his sword confidently. The drills he went through with the team ingrained in his body like stone.
'I'm ready.'
