[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV
London.
...
...
The dark energy and rock erupting from Severus' body began to diminish until it completely disappeared, revealing the heir of the Monarch of Shadows.
Severus was in his previous form — which would have been normal, if not for the dark mist covering him like armor. The chest pierced by the Ruler's sword had been healed; only the torn clothing remained before being completely covered by the shadows.
A full suit of armor enveloped Severus, and now he wielded the true power of the Monarch of Shadows, mixed with Ashborn's other power — the power of a Ruler as well. He had become something new.
His old wand still held the fragment of Baran, and it was through it that he manipulated his magical energy.
Severus stared at his opponent with purple eyes, while the Ruler said nothing, merely letting the wind strike against him, tightening his grip on his staff. They remained there, staring at each other for a few seconds, in silence.
Suddenly, both already had their magical weapons pointed forward.
In the next instant, a purple and black beam shot from Severus' wand, while a golden-yellow beam emerged from the Ruler's staff, whose purple symbols were replaced by yellow — the color of the Ruler's power — and fired.
The two energies struck each other immediately halfway between them.
A massive explosion began sweeping everything around as the powers collided, devastating what remained of the city. Even the helicopters were caught off guard and thrown backward by the impact.
In the village, in Scotland and far from the battlefield of London in England, the atmosphere was far from pleasant. When Severus was struck by the sword directly through the heart, it was not announced to the world that he was dead, but his house-elves felt his energy draining until it simply ceased.
Dobby was the first to react. As the first elf bound to Severus and his magic, he felt it before everyone else. He froze while people were still watching the TV.
Gemini was next, beginning to cry loudly. People started looking at the house-elves, one by one, noticing the growing despair.
Then Dobby warned: "Master... Master is dead. I can no longer feel his magic..."
All the other house-elves also felt themselves freed directly from Severus at the moment he was killed.
Everyone was in shock. Clarice screamed, unable to believe it. Pandora seemed shocked and paralyzed. Rosaria began to cry silently, while Bellatrix repeatedly murmured that it was not happening, that Severus would not die like that.
Lily was also crying. Her parents were worried, as was everyone there, receiving the news that Severus was truly dead.
But then came the explosion directly on the battlefield happening on the TV.
From the point of view of the live broadcast on TV, it flickered and shook as two energies collided — one purple mixed with darkness and the other yellow — appearing on the cameras before the helicopter began to lose balance. The reporters screamed, trying not to fall, as the force of the impact from the fight reached even them.
"Master is back!" Dobby shouted then. "I can feel his magic again! His magic has returned! He is back!"
The magical contract was quickly reestablished when Severus rose from the other world created by the Monarch of Shadows, exploding with power on the battlefield.
Returning to the battlefield, the two energies continued colliding. Severus kept a cold gaze, while the Ruler, in his full form, had a smile on his face.
"Very good... Very good, Severus Prince," said the Ruler, without ceasing to speak.
Severus Prince was far more powerful than before. His skill level had increased in every area. The system no longer restricted him; now he wielded the power of the Monarch of Shadows at its full strength, but in a different way.
Ashborn was never specialized in magic, despite being a necromancer, but Severus Prince had placed most of his points there. The system itself had reversed many of the gains he would have had in strength and physical abilities into points in magic and intelligence, something that brought him to an even greater state than before.
Even without using the orb and the staff, he basically had more than twenty thousand points in magic at that moment and felt that he could control an army of millions of shadows, instead of the five hundred thousand he previously possessed.
He was limitless.
Another matter was that he no longer had the system's restrictions. He could use his shadows, yet he still did not. He kept the direct combat against the Ruler, with the energies colliding violently.
Severus' wand looked as though it would burst at any moment.
They say that a wizard's wand grows with him, and that wand had clearly surpassed even the Elder Wand in Dumbledore's hands, at that moment.
But Severus' power was too great.
That made Severus slightly furrow his brow as he felt the wand flicker violently. It was about to collapse. It would not be able to continue in that clash for much longer. The wood began to crack, as if it would explode while its structure weakened.
Severus showed no concern; he simply accepted that his wand would not endure and that he would have to fight in another way.
Then something happened.
The wand began to emit a golden glow, and luminous trails emerged amid the clash. Without any explanation, Severus merely narrowed his eyes at the phenomenon, as the wand returned to its full strength, now with greater stability.
The energy became even more powerful.
Severus released even more power and quickly gained the advantage, with a movement as if he were closing an invisible door lock. Immediately, an even greater power came from Severus' wand, colliding against the Ruler's golden energy, beginning to push it back.
The attack struck the Ruler, who a second later was sent flying through the air, soaring across the destroyed area and colliding with debris and the ground itself in the distance.
Severus remained silent.
His gaze lowered to the wand, which still glowed faintly in gold. The core had changed. The wood had also transformed.
He looked forward again when a golden light emerged and the Ruler reappeared, his armor slightly damaged and cracked.
He did not seem angry or frustrated. He only looked at Severus with indifference, as if studying him.
"Why did you do that?" Severus asked.
"It would be quite ugly of me to let my opponent fight at a disadvantage against me with magic... while I ended up using magic before, breaking my own rules. After all, I used magic earlier when I said I wouldn't. You could say I'm not a very fair or unmanipulative person... but I'm not that unfair either," he said.
"What did you do to my wand?" Severus asked.
"Nothing much. I just added a more powerful core and also changed its wood. I evolved it, to tell the truth. It never stopped being your wand. I only placed my energy to transform your Ebony wood into the wood of the Tree of Eden. And the core... well, the core I won't talk about." He simply shrugged.
Severus frowned, but quickly returned to a combat stance again, just like the Ruler, who adjusted his staff.
"Now let's fight seriously, Severus Prince," he announced.
In the next instant, both advanced.
The helicopters began to flee the area. Suddenly, everything that remained of the city began to be destroyed. Lightning started falling from the sky as a storm formed above the city. Debris floated. Tornadoes emerged, some made of fire and other strange energies.
It looked like the apocalypse.
Explosions happened constantly. Purple lightning and golden energies collided against one another. Giants made of earth began to rise, the size of the monster that had previously threatened Tokyo.
The entire world witnessed it through the cameras still on: the greatest magical battle ever seen. Where London once stood, nothing remained anymore. Only explosions and waves of mana spreading into the distance.
Dumbledore was at a distance, watching.
"As you said, our fight would become insignificant before what we are witnessing today," he murmured.
At his side stood an equally elderly man, forming a small smile.
"I told you, Albus, when you came to ask for my help and my foresight to discover what the future of the world would be, that we would witness the greatest magical battle this world would see," he said.
The one speaking was none other than Gellert Grindelwald, the first Dark Lord of the century, who had spread fear across the world while trying to make wizards control Muggles.
A life choice that resulted in his imprisonment, until Albus, his former love and friend, freed him out of concern for the future of the world and the portals while Severus Snape fought.
"Who do you think will win?" Dumbledore asked.
He knew that Severus was fighting against an angel, just as Grindelwald had said — and that Severus had also embraced darkness in his resurrection.
'He will return from the world of the dead, accepting what he is,' Grindelwald replied at the time in a trance. 'And he will fight against the invading angel. Their battle will be something never before seen in this world. But it does not matter who is victorious. After this battle... everything will be only darkness. There is no more future.'
Dumbledore was deeply troubled by that. He did not know exactly what it meant, not even standing beside his old friend. He had only spoken words he saw through his powers of foresight.
He was uneasy with the idea that everything would disappear, that the future of the world could shatter.
"Whatever happens, I am sure Severus will choose the right path," Dumbledore said at last.
He admitted that when he first saw Severus almost 2 years ago, he felt a force of darkness unlike anything he had ever felt before. He himself had been subdued by that force, even if unconsciously. Whenever he was near Severus, he felt as though he could die at any moment.
That was why he had been so cautious at the beginning. That was why he confronted him. That was why he almost condemned him.
And he was saved by the angel who was now fighting against Severus. The angel seemed to manipulate everything.
He had arranged for Severus to use the ring, suppress his powers, and lock himself in a space long enough to reflect, glimpsing a little of what was to come for the world.
Since then, Dumbledore had worked alongside Severus, somewhat regretful of his own actions. Severus, naturally, never trusted him — and Dumbledore did not blame him for that.
But whatever happened there, Severus had always fought for the future of the world. His words at the trial were real. He was the only one capable of dealing with those monsters who wanted to destroy the planet.
A storm of lightning pulled him from his thoughts.
He watched the battle as bolts struck the ground dozens of kilometers from the city. There, between Dumbledore, soldiers, and other wizards, the very ground began to crack, opening deep fissures.
People screamed, asking if that truly was the end of the world. All they saw ahead was darkness and explosions of various colors of magic.
Then came an enormous explosion, visible even from space outside the planet.
All who were watching felt an intense light swallowing what had once been London. The helicopters, which had already moved away since the fight had intensified, were also struck by the shockwave that followed, like that of an atomic bomb.
The light rose into the sky before finally dissipating.
Severus stood amid the dust created by the explosion. He lowered himself slightly and looked down, seeing a colossal crater, as large as the city of London — far larger than the comet that had fallen before.
He landed at the center of the crater, still marked by red spots due to the extreme heat released by the explosion. Compared to the crater he had created before, that one was a hundred times larger.
'He will return from the world of the dead, accepting what he is,' Grindelwald replied at the time in a trance. 'And he will fight against the invading angel. His battle will be something never before seen in this world. But it does not matter who is victorious. After this battle... everything will be only darkness. There is no more future.'
Dumbledore was quite worried about that. He did not know exactly what it meant, not even beside his old friend. He had only uttered words he saw through his powers of foresight.
He was uneasy with the idea that everything would disappear, that the future of the world could break apart.
"Whatever happens, I am sure Severus will choose the right path," Dumbledore said at the end.

Severus raised his gaze.
The angel landed in the distance, as dirty and wounded as he was.
"Let's end this, Severus. Our battle and our magical display have already been proven, but I want to finish this once and for all," he declared.
Severus merely closed his eyes for a moment. He took a deep breath before opening them again, his eyes glowing purple, intense and defiant.
"Very well," he said, as he placed the wand at his side.
An energy began to gather around him. The same could be said of the Ruler, who started to emit golden magic from the tip of his staff.
That would be the conclusion of the final battle.
It was all or nothing.
Whatever happened, it would end there.
