Kalika glanced around the finely decorated stone room, then focused her glare back on Gaz, who looked at her in stunned silence.
Mishti, coughing, stumbled back to her feet and regained her composure. All the while, the two kids in their care wobbled to their feet, stepping on the unconscious winged bounty hunter.
"
The door exploded, and the two guarding demon soldiers stormed in, with conjured spears at the group, ready to kill. Gaz gestured his men to stop and watched as Kalika tossed icy glances at them as she slowly backed away with Mishti and the kids. Left with no room, they stopped at the edge of the broken window, standing defiant.
"
"
Gaz frowned and slowly circled the group before standing in front of Kalika, with his chest puffed and eyes glued on her. "
"
"
"
"
"
"
Gaz raised a brow and eyed the instrument. "
Kalika scowled. Her hands shook, still clinging tight to her knife as she glared even more harshly at the incubus. "
Gaz narrowed his eyes further and watched as Kalika turned a glare to the winged bounty hunter and kicked him awake.
"
"
"
"
"
"
Annoyed, Kalika leered at the encroaching soldiers and, with a solemn sigh, she moved. She tossed her knife, and in the blink of an eye, it vanished into a red arc and slashed through the neck of the first soldier. Blood sprayed, and before the second could flinch, her knife slit his throat with deadly precision, opening his neck.
Virgil paled and twisted back in shock by the sudden brutality. Then watched helplessly as the two soldiers came crashing down as Kalika's knife returned. A cold sweat ran down his face, seeing Kalika's glare aimed at him, and he quickly raised his arm in defeat. "
Ignoring the Incubus, Kalika turned and called, "
"
"
Mishti smirked at the refined obedience. "" she added.
""
Suddenly, Gaz closed the gap and forced her grasp to tighten around the knife as he looked down at her with fierce eyes and his own dagger in hand. "" He coldly stated.
Kalika wrestled to free her hands in vain. Surprised, she looked up at Gaz with a glare.
"
The sharp pain was immediately as if a Kalika arc, groaning in pain from the sharp-edged crystals, she rolled off the table, and before she knew it, Gaz stepped on her back, pinning her to the ground. Seconds later, the harsh thunder of the demon's wing filled the room before slowly becoming distant.
"They finally left." Kalika thought.
Gaz stepped harder. Forcing her to wince from pain. "
Kalika slid the knife across the floor, then glared at Gaz. Seconds later he deflected her phantom blade. One after another he clashed against the knife that shot at him with ill intent. Each clang rang louder than the last as the red streaks in the air only intensified and eventually filled the room with a collision of steel.
Baffled, Kalika could only watch as Gaz practically blocked every attack with ease. "Tch! How the hell is this that fast!!?"
With practiced ease, Gaz redirected her knife into the stone wall and stepped herder on her back. "
"
Looking at Gaz Kalika finally took note of his own average-looking dagger, that he playfully twirled in his hand. "" Gaz Began. "
With an intensity, Gaz's pink eyes glowed brightly, ensnaring Kalika in their illusion. In an instant, the world blackened, turning into a void she was all too familiar with. Her hands tightened, and she darted her glare throughout the void. "
Sensing sharp movements, Kalika whipped around and blocked an invisible attack. The heft
made her reel. With pain still coursing, she stumbled back and raised her knife again.
To her shock, she felt the tip press agains that bottom of her chin.
Gaz, unseen, began to taunt. '
From the shadow of the void around er Gaz slowly stepped out, arms outstretched. "
She posed readied to swing, but stopped. "Wait a minute… That's not him…"
From her side, another Gaz emerged, then another and another behind. One crept out after another, as if the void itself was cloning the incubus.
"
Alerted, Kalika raised her knife, clashing against invisible steel.
"< That's alright. I have all the time in the world.>" Gaz pressed hard, pushing Kalika back to her surprised. "
"W…why do I feel so tired…" Kalika wondered.
"
"
In a bold move, Kalika pulled her knife, taking the hit dead on, shocking the incubus. In breathe still in her lungs, Kalika grasped Gaz by his waisted and squeezed.
Hearing his pained squeak, slashed up with her dagger, drawing blood.
The Illusion shattered at one revealing Gaz, with a cut on his cheek. "
With a fierce determination, and thinned pupils took a single breath and then lunged. The two clashed.
Regaining his composure, Gaz swung back and attacked, striking her arm.
Undeterred, Kalika pushed Gaz back, swinging with her limped arm like a lunatic.
Gaz, catching her limp arm, kicked her back and charged her into the wall.
The walls cracked at the seams, and to his shock, her arm mended itself together. ""
Kalika clutched his head, and gaz caught her attack, aimed for his head. "
"
Gaz, with all his power, slammed Kalika's hand on the wall, then dragged her out by the wall. He tossed her, and like a feral animal, she regained her footing and leaped. Her knife arced, clashing against the open.
The incubus around took quick interest in the shocking event and watched Kalika and exchanged quick blows.
Blood splattered on the stone pavement, and Kalika's hand quickly fell to the ground.
Gaz, taking deep breathes focused on Kalika and continued to glare sharply at him. "
Disillusioned, Kalika laughed out an ironic chuckle. "
Gaz raised a brow, bewildered by her sudden statement.
With her cold golden eyes, Kalika leered back at Gaz. "
"
"Kalika chuckled on, more amused. ""
Suddenly, Knife shot in the air, startling Gaz. He prepared his dagger, only for the knife to shoot through Kalika's head.
Gaz stood in shock, along with the other incubus as they stared at the wide gaping hole in her head. Even more stunning, Kalika continued to fix her icy gaze on Gaz and slowly trudged forward. One step after another, the Incubus watched in astonishment as the dead Kalika walked past her severed arm.
"
Now staring up with blinking eyes, Kalika watched Gaz stare off into the distance, flabbergasted along with the other demons.
"
"
"
Gaz shifted his eyes down at Kalika. Panicked, leaped back with his dagger at the ready. "
Unnatrually calmed, Kalika, caught her knife in hand and lunged in and attacked. Interlocked, Kalika stared him straight in the eyes before brazenly adjusting and stabbing her knife into his left chest. She smiled and twisted her knife deeper in, forcing his chest to leak. "
Kalika pulled the revealing incubus down and scronfully whispered to ear. "
Without hesitation, Kalika pushed the Incubus to the ground and, with an air of authority, pointed her knife at him. "
She glanced back at the watchful crowd. They all kept their distance, even Virgil stood and watched with quiet caution.
Glaring back at Gaz, she struck him unconscious, leaving him on the floor. She stormed down the path out of the fortress and shouted. "
With Kalika gone, the incubus group, including Virgil, circled Gaz and grimaced.
"
Virgil's eyes twitched, pondering the thought himself. "
On his orders, several of his men gave chase, leaving the apprehensive incubus leader with Gaz.
********
Donovan sprang from the ship at once, along with Bjorn, and dashed away. "
"
"Pah! Rushing isn't going to help.>" Weth quietly said. "
