Abbot, a blue karnal demon with short grey hair and red eyes, wobbled tiredly in his chair alongside his bald red companion, who sat, taking another gulp of his mug.
"
Zef quietly exhaled. "
"
"
"
""
Zirg, with a widening smirk, stood cockily, pompously pointing at himself. "
Disbelief hung between the two Karnals as they stared unfazed. With a sigh, Zef spoke. "
"
Zef rolled his eyes. "
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
Abbot's eyes twitched. "
"
"
Zef quickly joined and winced at the scene. "
"
"
Abbot chuckled, with a grin widening on his face. "
With a peaked excitement, Abbot leaps outside and shouts. "
Jostled, Abbot stumbled back into his companions' arms as a woman shouted,
The woman, Kalika, ran, dragging the confused, frightened demon boy, with Mishti not far behind with Fayelynn. "
"
"
"
Strings and ropes of blood launched at them from all directions, forcing the two to carry the children and dash hard into the nearest alley. "If those stupid demons didn't take my jerky, all of this foolishness would have been avoided!"
From above, several demons flew and drew Kalika immediate attention as the beating of their wings annoyed her. With the demons also hot on their trail she glared frustratedly at the demons behind and above. "
"
"
"
"Tch!" Stretching out one hand, Kalika conjured her knife and tossed it in the air. "
Her knife swerved and zipped through the air, shooting through the flying demons above.
"
Kalika sneered and commanded her knife back to her. She prepared for the encroaching demons to their rear, only for the horde to stop and gag in horror.
Puzzled, Kalika glanced at Mishti, who whipped around with her piercing, glowing eyes. And sent the second group into a dizzying illusion.
Mishti winced, "
"
"
With those words, Fayelynn turned excitedly with a skip and touched the first demon in sight.
Pensive and impatient, Kalika watched reluctantly, almost ready to flee. Suddenly, the blood shot from demon to demon like a chain of lightning. The demons, under Succubus's trap, winced and reeled in pain, eventually collapsing all at once.
"What the hell???"
"
"
"
Kalika scoffed, almost unsure to believe her eyes. Suddenly, she felt the boy shaking in her arms, terrified. "These demons… They make no sense…" With a huff, Kalika followed to flee as a mob of bounty hunters poured from the alley. With her knife at the ready and Mishti at her side, Kalika grimaced as the sound of more flapping wings filled the air. "They really aren't letting up."
Suddenly, from above, a blood roped whipped at them, cutting them off. A Karnal wearing a long blanket around his body, "
"Grr!" Kalika threw her knife at the demon, who easily countered and whipped her blade back at her. Unfortunately, with the flick of Kalika's fingers, the knife swirled and shot back at the demon. It tore and cut the straps holding the blanket, unveiling his secrets for all to see.
Disturbed, Kalika averted her gaze, called her blade back, and turned to another street.
She ran with the crisp wind blowing as the seemingly growing number of demons chased faster and faster, each one cutting them off and forcing them down another street. No room to breathe, no room to stop. And on goal, they drove the crowd at once.
Soon, the roads ran dry, leaving Kalika and Mishti cornered. Annoyed, Kalika prepared her dagger again. "
Mishti slowly breathed in and out, exhausted. ""
Kalika clicked her tongue, forced to watch as a scarred red Karnal with a bald head slowly led the pack of hungry bounty hunters, wielding his large hammer of earth at the ready. Behind each of the bounty hunters approached, ready to use their blood blades and blood magic, as they looked at the women, no different from Bandits with despicable ideas.
""
"
Frustrated, the scarred leered at his companion, who stood with his sword, overconfident. Soon after, the smile on his face changed as the disgruntled groans of the other Bounty hunters grew.
"
"
"
Not long after, the horde of bounty hunters erupted into a loud dispute of bickering and finger-pointing, eventually turning violent as the hunters grabbed collars and spat out. And before they knew, fists flew, and blades clashed as the mob turned against itself.
Taking advantage, Kalika scanned her surroundings, looking for a path of escape. With reluctance, she turned to a rocky dead end and glanced up at a single solid fortress above. She grew apprehensive. "No good." She glanced at the demon boy in her hand, who watched the violence with mild curiosity.
Kalika, seeing one of the winged demons fly into the crowd, lit up with a new idea. Deadpanned, she glanced at Mishti. "

"
So let the gourd worry about it.>"
The soldier nodded and followed along with Gaz and his other companion. Not long after, they came to a large stone fortress gate and stood in wait. Finished, fixing his clothes, Gaz glanced and spoke, "
Reaching the door to the main building that overlooked Kisik, Gaz turned to his men. "
With a solemn nod, the two soldiers took positions by the door, allowing Gaz to enter with privacy.
Gaz entered a comfy stone room furnished with trophies of rare exotic animals. His eyes quickly latched onto a single-seated, grey-haired incubus, who overlooked his pile of large and small crystals within. The incubus, bandaged and bruised, smiled sharkishly and stood with open arms. "
Surprised, Gaz continued to stand and stare at the bandage wrapper around the incubus's arm, leg, and torso. "
Virgil retracted his and turned with a sigh. "
""
Vigil chuckled, "
Virgil shook the grainy crystals from his hands and turned to Gaz. "<
"
"
Gaz watched Virgil wander to the window, followed. He then glanced at Virgil, who looked out the window, pensive and almost calculating.
"
Gaz kept silent.
Virgil smirked. "
"
Virgil darted his eyes at Gaz, insulted. "
"
Virgil grimaced, glaring at Gaz. "You've changed. What happened with being brothers in arms, Gaz!>"
Gaz, leered with acold glare. ""
Exhausted, Vigil exhaled a loud scoff and then shuffled away from Gaz. "
Gaz straightened. Shocked. "
"
Curious, Gaz followed his gaze only for the window to explode with shards of glass scattering everywhere.
A winged demon slid on the floor as two women coughed. "Grr! Damned demon! At least we got away from that stupid mob.>"
Aghast, Gaz watched on as the dust dissipated, revealing the two mentioned women. With laser-focused eyes, Kalika shot a glare, directed at Gaz. "Hey… I know you…"
