Ye Family's wife was a little surprised. "Relatives of the Chu Family?"
Du Chengxiu nodded. "Not just the Chu Family. That concubine has all sorts of tangled connections with our Second Branch, and she's even linked to Hanzhong as well. All these years, you think madam's intelligence network was set up for nothing? There are some things I'm not at liberty to spell out for you, but the grievances between the Chu Family and the Duo Family have dragged on for decades, while madam's relationship with the Duo Family is extremely close."
"This…" Ye Family's wife was a bit dumbfounded.
"Then what did you think made them so eager to get in touch with you?" Du Chengxiu shot his wife a sidelong glance. "Don't forget, that son of theirs passed the Scholar exam; they say he's going into officialdom. In the past he said more than once that merchants reek of the stench of copper."
