Naruto stood in front of Gaara, his expression sharpened by focus. With a single breath, he pressed his right hand against Gaara's stomach and exhaled deeply as golden chakra pulsed out of his palm.
"Alright, let's begin…" He whispered.
A low hum filled the air.
The moment his palm made full contact, Gaara's entire body tensed violently.
"Ghh—!"
A hoarse, strangled sound tore from Gaara's throat as his back arched off the ground. His muscles trembled under the sudden weight of pain that was unrelenting, raw, and invasive. It felt like his very soul was being stripped layer by layer, like someone had shoved a hot blade into his belly and twisted it slowly.
But Gaara didn't scream. He gritted his teeth so hard that his gums bled, face contorted in agony, yet silent.
He'd lived his entire childhood in torment.
This... this was familiar to him.
Naruto's eyes burned with sympathy, but he didn't let it shake him. "Hang in there, Gaara. I've got you."
From Gaara's core, a massive wave of dark, dense chakra began to rise, like a tidal wave of sandstorm winds.
Naruto's expression hardened, and without hesitation, he summoned his clan's most powerful tool: the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
The chains of radiant gold erupted from Naruto's back and shoulders, slithering into the air like glowing serpents, then plunged into the ground to anchor a dome-like barrier around them.
With each pulse of chakra, the dome glowed stronger.
He wasn't taking any chances.
"Just a little more…"
Naruto grunted as he pumped pure Yang Chakra directly into Gaara's body. Without it, Gaara's life would begin to unravel, as Shukaku's chakra had been a part of him for so long; removing it meant tearing out not only a power source but also a piece of his body's equilibrium.
The extracted chakra was a monstrous, raging swirl of raw power that floated between them, flickering violently. It took the shape of a huge, heavy, and imposing, the faint silhouette of a colossal raccoon made entirely of sand and chakra, curled and hissed in resistance.
But Naruto wasn't finished.
"Time to seal you up tighter than ever," He muttered.
He formed a series of rapid hand seals as his fingers blurred in motion, and slammed his palm back onto Gaara's abdomen.
The sealing symbols flared into life across Gaara's skin in concentric rings, like a blooming lotus made of chakra script.
With a deep roar, Naruto slammed the mass of extracted chakra back into Gaara's core.
The seal pulsed violently for a moment, and it felt like everything was about to explode.
But then everything returned back to normal.
A soft hum resonated across the sand, and the sealing array glowed gently before etching itself permanently onto Gaara's stomach.
It was done.
Naruto exhaled heavily, finally allowing his shoulders to slump.
He looked down at Gaara's face, pale but peaceful now.
Naruto gave a soft smile and gently laid him back against the ground.
"Rest easy, brother."
But Naruto had one more task to finish.
With a subtle surge of chakra, he dove into Gaara's consciousness.

Inside the Mindscape
The moment he entered, the air was thick with rage.
"You bastard human!!" A voice thundered from the void.
The enormous form of Shukaku, the One-Tail, surged into view. His sand-swirled body trembled with barely contained fury, chakra eyes narrowed to slits as he bared his jagged teeth.
"I'll never forgive this! You sealed me again! That little brat can never control me! I'll break free one day, and when I do, I'll rip the sky open and bury your pathetic villages beneath an ocean of sand!!"
Naruto stood in front of the furious Tailed Beast, completely unfazed.
"Yeah, yeah. Keep screaming. You've got lungs, I'll give you that," He muttered, brushing sand off his jacket.
Shukaku hissed. "You dare mock me?! I am the Great Shukaku! I won't be tamed like a pet!"
Naruto rubbed his temples. "You're acting like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum after bedtime."
"You dare—!"
"I do," Naruto cut him off with a sharp grin. "Look, you're sealed inside Gaara now, but it's not like before. It's different now, and I made sure of that."
Shukaku's snarl faltered, just for a second.
Naruto continued, his voice gentler now. "You're safe inside Gaara. Out there, there are forces that'll rip you apart and use your power like fuel. If you want to survive... staying with Gaara is your best option."
Shukaku growled. "Survive? I'm a Tailed Beast! I don't need to hide inside some flesh puppet!"
Naruto crossed his arms. "Really? So you're ready to be hunted again? Captured, chained, and fed into the Ten-Tails like cattle? Because that's the future if you go off solo."
At the mention of the Ten-Tails, Shukaku paused. His ears twitched.
"…What did you say?" He asked, suspicious.
Naruto gave him a sideways glance. "You heard me."
"Who told you about the Ten-Tails? Was it… Kurama?"
From behind Naruto, the air shimmered, and then, the crimson form of the Nine-Tails loomed beside him.
Kurama yawned lazily, tail flicking like a bored cat.
"Tch. Don't pin it on me, raccoon," Kurama grunted. "I didn't say a damn thing. This guy figured it out on his own."
Shukaku huffed. "You're just sucking up to him now!"
Kurama glared. "I'd rather get sealed in a blender than suck up to a human. But Naruto… he's different. He's not just any human."
"…What's that supposed to mean?" Shukaku narrowed his eyes.
Kurama turned, glaring pointedly. "Because he's the reincarnation of Ashura... That's right, he is the old man's second son. The Sage of Six Paths himself entrusted this idiot with our future."
The words echoed like thunder.
Shukaku blinked, stunned. "W-What?"
He turned his huge, curious gaze toward Naruto. "You… you're... the old man's kid?"
Naruto raised a hand and gave a cheeky smile. "Not exactly. I'm Naruto. I'm my own person."
Shukaku stared at him, speechless for a long moment. Something unspoken passed through his expression from shock to disbelief... and maybe even recognition.
Naruto's smile softened. "But I made the Sage a promise. I promised I'd protect all of you. Because the way the world treated you... it was never your fault."
Shukaku's ears lowered slightly.
"You were just chakra given form. The world feared you, hated you, and used you. And you got angry. Can't blame you for that," Naruto said softly.
Kurama gave a faint, approving grunt. "Took him long enough to understand that, too."
Naruto turned back to Shukaku. "You made Gaara's life hell for years. But even so… he never gave up. And you know what? Neither should you."
"…Hmph," Shukaku snorted, his voice quieter.
"Try to get along with him," Naruto said. "Even if just a little. You don't have to become best friends overnight. Just... try your best. Because if you don't, how will you ever know if he's different from the others?"
Shukaku didn't respond.
Naruto gave a small wave. "Think about it, alright?"
And with that, he turned and exited the mindscape, leaving the One-Tail alone in the vast, sand-filled space, staring into nothing, his massive body still… and his heart, maybe, a little less angry.

Back in the Real World
The moonlight still hung overhead, casting pale silver light across the ruined plains of the Land of Whirlpools. The barrier shimmered softly around them, and inside, Naruto looked down at Gaara, who was now breathing steadily, the seal marking faintly glowing on his stomach.
He sat beside him quietly.
In the silence, Naruto let his thoughts wander.
He leaned back, hands behind his head, watching the stars twinkle above them.
"Guess I'm becoming more like the old man Sage every day…" He muttered with a wry grin.
A low chuckle rumbled from within his own soul.
"You wish," Kurama said dryly.
Naruto smirked. "Heh. Maybe... But I've got something he didn't."
"Oh? And what's that?"
Naruto closed his eyes, resting under the moonlight.
"Friends."
