Karna began seriously battling against Acnologia. Each swipe of Acnologia's claws was filled with arcane and spatial magic concentrated to turn into physical forms. Each attack not only would have been dangerous if it landed, but the resulting force also reverberated through space for at least a few kilometres.
Karna had been dodging non-stop using the wings that had now been completely fused with his body. But at the same time, he had been shooting arrows again and again, each having the same intensity as the arrows he had used before.
His earlier Thousand Zakura had actually inflicted severe damage throughout Acnologia's body. But Acnologia was able to manipulate his spatial powers to destroy the rest of the arrows from causing further harm.
So, realising that such large-area attacks would not work anymore, Karna now fought while shooting one arrow at a time at intervals and timings when Acnologia was unable to counter the attacks.
Acnologia was wounded a few times and then decided to use every technique in his arsenal. He then suddenly teleported to a location right behind Karna, intent on landing a blow that would finish the fight.
But the moment he did, Karna disappeared.
'What?'
He was shocked, but he got the answer within the next moment when an arrow pierced straight through his heart.
'How?'
He asked, but he got the answer in the next moment as his senses began working in overdrive as he neared death.
There were symbols present within the air all around him which he hadn't noticed because of how little spatial energy they released before. But Karna's current location also had a symbol which was now emitting a higher amount of spatial energy since he had used it to teleport to his back.
"Normally, an arrow to the heart would end the troubles for most people. But I guess you won't be going so silently, right?" Karna said with a smile as he was able to sense what Acnologia was doing right now, since he was so close to him.
DRAGON KING DRAGON SLAYER!!!!
Acnologia bellowed and began glowing. Karna immediately teleported to a distance.
Within the year he was on Tenrou Island, he had managed to modify the Flying Raijin technique because of which he could create teleportation points within space itself, irrespective of whether there was a solid object present there or not.
It was the trump card he had created for dealing with Acnologia for a long time.
He had already used this method during their last battle where he had imprinted the symbol onto Acnologia's body and attacked him the moment Acnologia activated his teleportation.
It had worked last time, and he had managed to leave a permanent mark on Acnologia as well.
By common sense, most people would believe that a trick like that would not work if you repeated it, as Acnologia would have thought of a countermeasure for that attack the next time.
But Karna knew he could use the same attack as long as he changed the conditions on it slightly.
Last time, after figuring out the marks made on his body, Acnologia had removed them instantly using his magic, and this time he had used a humanoid body so as to prevent Karna from putting any marks on him. But he never would have expected that Karna could now put marks on the atmosphere itself.
And that had ended the fight in this anticlimactic way.
Well, almost at least...
Many wondered how Acnologia had never been beaten after making enemies with every dragon and Dragon Slayer out there. Many wondered why he had never been brought down.
The secret is what happens when he gets struck by a killing wound.
Right at that moment, Acnologia ignites three-fourths of the entire magic in his body while a quarter of the energy is focused on healing himself.
The attack wipes out or heavily injures those who had managed to take Acnologia down, and then he goes into a hibernating sleep at the end of which he wakes up completely healed.
"Not this time," Karna muttered as he teleported outside the range of the explosion.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!
Karna waited for a few minutes until the effects subsided. He then teleported to the centre where Acnologia was now sleeping peacefully.
Chunk!!
There was a small crushing sound as Karna pierced his brain using a death sword, killing him in his sleep.
"As I said before, the battle is a bit anticlimactic, but..." Karna looked around.
The desert had completely disappeared for a few dozen kilometres, and the only things left were deep ravines made of rock.
"The victory in that anticlimactic battle cannot be achieved unless I was giving my all," he muttered as he felt his wings break down due to the amount of strain they had been put through to dodge every attack and its aftereffects.
"Hmm, I won't be able to use them for the coming battle, but it makes little difference, I guess," Karna muttered as he felt the wings enter back into his body.
He then looked at Acnologia's body on the ground.
He went near it and looked at it carefully.
"Maybe you can be useful for some more time," Karna muttered as he picked up the body.
He then sensed the presence of someone looking at him from a distance.
"Oh, looks like an old friend wants to meet me. But before that..." Suddenly, Acnologia's body disappeared from his hand. "I hope she kept the leaf in which I imprinted the spatial coordinates."
He muttered as he began walking towards the kingdom in Edolas.
At the same time, back in Earthland.
"Mavis, why is this leaf glowing?" Zeref asked, and Mavis turned her head away from the mountain of papers in front of her.
"That was given to me by Karna," she said as her spirit took the leaf. "The glowing means that he is trying to send something, but it won't pass unless I activate the seal, showing that it is me."
Mavis activated the leaf and suddenly, a body fell into the workshop.
"This is!!" Zeref was completely stunned at seeing one of his most terrible nightmares in front of him.
"Looks like Karna was busy," Mavis said with a proud smile.
A/N - Hope you like it.
