Hours before the activation of Face.
"Huh, a weapon to remove a large number of armies from the battlefield without bloodshed. How amusing, that child had no idea what she was creating herself.
But who can blame her? The era of war in which she thrived had made her sloppy, not even recognizing the full capability of what she was creating."
Ankhseram muttered as he modified the keys of Face.
"I just need to make sure you are eliminated along with the other contender who has the chance of gaining dominion over death ever again," Ankhseram muttered as he manipulated the keys to change the entire framework of Face into a completely new spell.
"Mavis had no idea that her machine had managed to absorb such a large amount of ethernano that it surpasses the R-System itself many times over.
Normally, this would be dispersed harmfully into the atmosphere the moment they are destroyed. But if you are smart enough, you can use it as a source to achieve anything you desire," Ankhseram muttered to himself as he completed the spell.
"Let's see how you escape this time, Karna Vermillion."
Karna, at the time, had teleported into a desert with nothing near him at all. He used his senses and found out that there was nothing near him within a radius of fifteen kilometers.
And it did not take him long to realize where he was right now. It was blatantly obvious from the atmosphere surrounding him.
Karna had been teleported to Edolas.
He was able to easily feel the absence of ethernano in the atmosphere.
'Teleporting me against my will would have taken a large amount of magic that surpasses the combined magic in the ethernano crystals in the R-System tower.
Is that why they used the R-System beforehand?' Karna speculated in his mind. 'Is that why the demons used the R-System? But even then, how could they know the codes when I made sure that all the councillors who knew about it were protected?
Something tells me that these problems are caused by more than just demons alone.' Karna thought as he looked through the desert in a calm manner.
Normally, this would have been the perfect way to defeat a wizard, stranding them in a dimension with no way for them to return home to Earthland. Prince Jellal would have already destroyed the blueprints of Anima so that no one in this dimension would be tempted to take the lives of others to obtain magic again.
And even if, by any chance, they did get the blueprints for Anima, it would still require a preliminary input of magic, which was non-existent within this world.
But Karna was not a normal wizard. His twin hearts had enough magic to support him for at least a few months, and the Flying Thunder God mark he had placed back in Earthland was accessible to him as well. But just as he was about to activate it, he paused.
'If they know about my reputation, they would do more than just trap me in a dimension, and I am pretty sure the energy absorbed by Face is going to be more than enough for my teleportation. So they might have also done something more than that.'
Suddenly, Karna flinched and turned toward his left. There, he felt something enter his sensing range, something terrifying and familiar.
Karna suddenly had a wide grin on his face as his armor formed around him out of excitement.
"What do you know, those fuc***s think they trapped me, but they just served me a five-star meal."
"ROUND TWO, YOU BASTARDDD!!!!" he screamed out from the top of his lungs and soared towards his enemy.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Acnologia roared in excitement reciprocating the feelings at meeting his former foe.
He knew this battle would be many times better than anything he had faced in his entire life.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But at the same time, Earthland was also facing its own tragedy.
"I was able to understand the catastrophe we were about to face due to the spells I had made years ago after learning about the future from Karna," Anna muttered with blood flowing down her face from her eyes. Layla supported her as she no longer had the strength to do so herself. Anna continued to explain.
"When I heard about an entire universe that suffered due to the destruction caused by the Eclipse, I made a miniature Eclipse machine that showed me the potential futures that had not happened yet. I made it so that no one would have to send messages from the future after going through unimaginable suffering.
Even if Lucy sending the message from the future to Karna prevented the dark future from appearing, it still happened in another version of the future. Eight hundred dragons brought untold destruction to the entire planet, almost wiping out the entire human race.
Good thing I kept an eye on the space-time breach that had opened up when I came from the past. I was able to use it to trap ninety-nine percent of the dragons who were supposed to appear in the current world," Anna said as she coughed blood. "There are still a thousand dragons left in the world right now, and unfortunately, none of them seem to be planning on remaining peaceful. I'm sorry, but there is nothing else I can do for now."
Anna said as she fainted. Layla immediately held her close and checked her vitals.
"She's just tired. With rest, she will recover," Layla said and turned toward the Princess of Fiore. "You do know what to do, right?"
She nodded.
"The majority of the Dragon Slayers are here for the competition. I am sure that they, along with the wizards, will be able to battle them," she said and turned toward the minister, who nodded and went to prepare everyone.
The princess then looked at the sky once more, where a sphere of energy was pulsing, knowing that the sphere was going to eject a thousand dragons upon them.
'Is this the unavoidable Dragon King Festival that appears regularly in the world?' she mused as she prayed for their victory.
