Sulking in her chambers for days now,the queen drowned herself in wine and snacks.
She had been waiting for Irene to bring her good news... is there really nothing to hold on to?
"Your highness!" .... Irene,the queen's head maid finally arrived
"Spill!" The queen was beyond eager to learn something spicy
"It seems the general and the princess have been having an affair before this current events.
He often sneak to her quarters and leave so early in the morning. It might also be the princess first time has been given to the general!"
The queen's had dropped. She needed a secret to tie Alexander down with and yet...it was about her own daughter.
How can Isabella be so foolish...she thought.
So all the times she had made advances to him,he rejected her because of that wild seed.... she thought angrily. How dare her?
She gave her a life of luxury, away from suffering and this is the thanks she gets!
"I suddenly regret bringing her back!"
Irene remained silent,she had known that something was up with the princess ever since the king's death. Her daughter,the princess maid had told her about this matter. She only wanted to protect the princess but it seems time has ran out.
She feels it's not a bad think if the general ended up with her, after all she isn't the real princess. But the queen felt betrayed..she had raised her for all her life and her own child can sabotage her plans.
Irene feared the queen would do something dangerous...with that glitter in her eyes it was mischief brewing!
"Your highness... please think carefully and calm down!"
"Bring Alexander to me this instant. Tell him I have a accepted his union with Isabella!"
The queen grinded her teeth with Isabella name...like something rotten and spitted out with disgust.
Alexander didn't bother hiding his true feelings any more. He picked out flowers without restraints and send it to Isabella every single time.
And now he's at it again...
Sebastian could swear he hadn't imagined the general to be loving and caring. Paying attention to even the smallest details about the princess including her favourite flowers and hobbies.
Last time he sent a couple of royal bands to play some music for her. Something she and her father cherish.
This act of selflessness has drawn Isabella more and more to him.
"General...the head maid of the queen is here to see you!"... Sebastian announced. He wondered what the queen was up to now.
"Let her in!"...his usual cold tone was no where to be found. Humming a sweet song he focused more on the flowers
"General...the queen wants me to tell you she has accepted your union with the princess!" Sebastian was surprised...did the sun rise from the North?
Alexander didn't jump to it like the queen would expect " On what conditions?"
Irene didn't know what to say... "You come see her!"
Alexander smirked... he knew she was up to no good and would try every method to manipulate the situation.
Yet...he was going to play her little game with a lot of insurance
"I'll come during tea time!"....that should be long enough to cook up her plan
Irene left...with so much hesitation in her heart she has no choice but to obey the queen. Because this was far from over.

The queen didn't look satisfied at the results. He should have jumped to her immediately. Then she can confront him about his dirty secret with her daughter!
But she knows he can deny it with a straight face and then she'll look like a mad clown,driven by jealousy. A mother trying to steal her daughter's fiancee!
A smile formed in her face...she suddenly felt ready.
If Alexander thinks he's smart...then she's wise!
