Olivia Parker stood aside, listening to the two voices, increasingly feeling that something was wrong with Freya Smith.
"Auntie, can I stay with Freya for a while? Didn't you say she hasn't eaten yet? Can you make her a bowl of noodles?"
"Oh... okay, I'll... I'll go right away!"
Freya's mom turned and left the room, and Olivia helped Freya onto the bed to sit down.
"Freya, tell me, what's really happening?"
"Doctor, I'm a waste, I'm trash, I have no future... I really want to die, but my mom... I can't bear to leave my mom!"
"Why would you think this way? Haven't we already contacted the school? You're still young; there's a long road ahead!"

Freya repeated the words once more.
Olivia carefully observed her expression, seeing only a vacant stare, her eyes bleak and lifeless, as if she were a soulless zombie.
