...
Sandro stalked forward, grabbing Barrett by the scruff of his neck. He didn't say a word. He violently hauled the challenger out of the wreckage, dragging him across the mats, and forcefully threw him under the bottom rope back into the ring. Robinson was still unconscious near the barricade, but sprinting down the ramp, wearing a fresh striped shirt, was senior referee John Cone.
Cone slid into the ring just as Sandro stepped through the ropes.
Barrett, operating on pure survival instinct, staggered to his feet. As Sandro charged forward, Barrett threw a desperate thumb to the eye, temporarily blinding the champion. Barrett followed up with a vicious kick to the knee, dropping Sandro down.
Barrett grabbed Sandro's arm, pulling him in close, and executed a flawless, snap Wasteland!
The heavy fireman's carry slam planted Sandro flat on his back.
The crowd gasped.
Barrett threw his exhausted body over Sandro, hooking the leg with everything he had.
John Cone dropped to the mat.
One!
Two!
Sandro thrust his shoulder toward the sky, breaking the pinfall!
The arena shook with the force of an earthquake. The fans were jumping, screaming, hugging each other in sheer disbelief.
"He kicked out!" Cole screamed, his voice completely raw and breaking. "Sandro Zhang survived the Wasteland! The heart, the determination, the absolute refusal to lose!"
"This is what a true World Heavyweight Champion looks like!" JBL preached passionately. "You can beat him, you can break him, you can surround him with thugs, but you cannot kill his spirit!"
Wade Barrett's face twisted into a mask of pure, unadulterated despair. He had thrown every single weapon in his arsenal at the God King, and Sandro was still breathing.
Barrett pushed himself up, leaning heavily against the ropes, his chest heaving. He looked out at the ringside area, seeing his Nexus soldiers lying broken and unconscious across the floor, surrounded by Cena, Ziggler, and the rest of the men he have beef with.
There was no more backup. There were no more tricks.
Barrett backed into the corner, his eyes burning with a dark, homicidal resolve. He reached down and violently tore the red elbow pad completely off his arm, tossing it into the crowd. He was loading up the Bull Hammer one final time. He was going to take Sandro's head off or die trying.
Sandro slowly pushed himself to his knees, wiping the sweat and blood from his eyes. He swayed heavily, looking completely drained of every ounce of energy.
Barrett let out a guttural scream and lunged forward, swinging his bare elbow with terrifying, lethal velocity.
But Sandro was waiting.
With blinding speed that defied human exhaustion, Sandro ducked cleanly underneath the Bull Hammer. Barrett spun completely around from the missed momentum.
Sandro hit the ropes, accelerating to maximum speed, and rebounded.
He launched himself into the air, connecting with a sickeningly stiff, brutal running elbow strike directly to the back of Barrett's skull.
The Last Note Elbow connected with a sound like a rifle cracking in the night.
Barrett's eyes instantly rolled back into his head. His arms dropped limply to his sides, and he stumbled forward, completely out on his feet, dead to the world.
The Orlando crowd rose to their feet in unison, knowing exactly what was coming next.
Sandro didn't drop for the pin. He wanted to make sure Wade Barrett never forgot this night.
The God King grabbed the unconscious challenger from behind. Bending his knees, digging deep into reserves of strength that seemed downright supernatural, Sandro lifted the 246 pound frame of Wade Barrett straight up into the air, settling the massive Englishman securely onto his shoulders in an electric chair position.
Sandro stood perfectly still in the center of the ring. He looked out at the roaring sea of fans. He looked down at the entrance stage, where AJ, Nikki, and Alexa were cheering with tears in their eyes. He looked over at Dolph Ziggler and John Cena, who were watching from the floor, absolute respect etched across their faces.
Sandro reached up, locking his hands securely around the back of Barrett's neck.
With a fierce, terrifying shout of absolute victory, Sandro dropped violently to a seated position, driving Barrett straight down to the canvas, spiking the Nexus leader brutally onto his neck and shoulders with catastrophic force.
The Fall From Grace.
Sandro rolled over, throwing his arm across Barrett's chest, staring directly into the hard camera with a look of cold, undisputed dominance.
John Cone slid into position, his hand slapping the canvas in perfect rhythm with the screaming crowd.
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
"THREE!"
DING! DING! DING!
The energetic, heavy rock instrumental of Sandro's theme song erupted through the stadium sound system. The Orlando crowd blew the roof off the building, a massive, triumphant standing ovation washing over the ring.
"Here is your winner, and STILL the World Heavyweight Champion... SANDROOOO ZHANGGGG!" Justin Roberts bellowed, his voice echoing perfectly over the music.
"He did it!" Cole screamed, clapping his hands together at the ruined broadcast desk. "Against all odds! Against a nine on one disadvantage! The God King has defended his throne yet again! What an absolute masterpiece of a main event!"
"We just witnessed a legendary classic, Michael!" Lawler agreed, shaking his head in sheer awe. "Sandro Zhang just proved that he is not only the most technically gifted athlete in this company, but he is the toughest man to ever lace up a pair of boots!"
"All hail the God King!" JBL roared triumphantly, raising his arms in the air. "Wade Barrett tried to steal the crown, he tried to threaten the royal family, and he paid the ultimate price! The Nexus is broken, and Sandro Zhang stands alone at the top of the mountain!"
Inside the ring, John Cone handed Sandro the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship.
Sandro slowly pushed himself to his feet, his body bruised, battered, and aching. But as he draped the two massive gold belts over his shoulders, he looked absolutely invincible.
AJ Lee, Nikki Bella, and Alexa Bliss slid under the bottom rope, sprinting across the ring. They threw their arms around Sandro in a massive, emotional group hug, burying their faces in his shoulders, relieved that the nightmare was finally over. Sandro held them tightly, closing his eyes, a genuine, human smile finally breaking through his stoic mask.
Outside the ring, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, and the Usos stood together. They looked up at the champion, surrounded by his family and his gold. Ziggler raised his steel chair in a silent salute. Cena offered a firm, respectful nod.
They didn't necessarily agree with everything the God King stood for, but tonight, he had earned their absolute, unquestionable respect.
Sandro gently pulled back from the embrace. He walked to the nearest turnbuckle, slowly climbing to the second rope.
He raised the WWE Championship high into the air with his right hand, and the World Heavyweight Championship high with his left. The bright arena lights illuminated his white gear, casting a brilliant glow over the golden plates.
The cameras flashed continuously, capturing the iconic, unforgettable image of the God King, bruised but completely unbroken, reigning supreme over a conquered rebellion.
The broadcast faded to black, leaving the millions of fans watching around the world absolutely breathless, fully believing they had just witnessed a match that would be talked about for generations to come, and further cementing Sandro as the most dominant, unstoppable force in the history of professional wrestling.
The moment Monday Night RAW faded to black, the digital wrestling world was set ablaze.
Twitter and every major wrestling forum immediately flooded with thousands of posts, breaking down the sheer brutality of the Lumberjack match and the undeniable dominance of Sandro. But while the God King received his flowers for surviving a nine on one assault, a massive portion of the online discourse quickly shifted to the losing side.
Fans ruthlessly dissected Wade Barrett's failure. As the leader of the Nexus, Barrett had orchestrated the ultimate trap. He had the numbers, he had the weapons, and he had the psychological advantage after threatening Sandro's family. Yet, when the dust settled, Barrett was the one spiked into the canvas, leaving his faction humiliated on live television.
"I don't care how tough the Nexus looks backstage, Wade Barrett is completely failing as a general," a top rated post on a popular wrestling forum read. "They had an 8 on 1 advantage at ringside, and they still couldn't get the job done. Sandro just made the most dangerous faction in WWE look like a bunch of local enhancement talent. What does Nexus even do now?"
The speculation ran wild on Twitter. Fans began theorizing that the Nexus would have no choice but to abandon Monday Night RAW. Sandro Zhang had definitively proven that the red brand was his undisputed kingdom, and the Nexus had failed their ultimate siege.
"Watch them jump ship to SmackDown," one viral tweet predicted. "RAW is too hot for them right now. If Barrett wants to save face and actually win some gold, he's going to take his boys to Friday nights where Sandro isn't waiting to knock his head off."
The rumors simmered throughout the week, building a heavy layer of anticipation as Friday night finally arrived.
The WWE production trucks had rolled into Mississippi County, Missouri. The local arena was packed to the absolute brim, a sea of passionate fans eagerly waiting for the blue brand to deliver.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A massive barrage of blue and silver pyrotechnics exploded from the entrance stage, raining sparks down over the roaring crowd as the iconic SmackDown theme song blasted through the speakers.
"Welcome, everyone, to Friday Night SmackDown!" Cole shouted over the deafening noise of the Missouri fans. "We are coming to you live, and what a week it has been in the WWE! I am Michael Cole, alongside Jerry 'The King' Lawler and John Bradshaw Layfield!"
"The energy in this building is absolutely electric, Michael!" Lawler cheered, waving to the fans holding up signs behind the broadcast desk. "But we have to talk about the elephant in the room. The wrestling world is still buzzing about what happened on Monday night! Sandro Zhang retained the World Heavyweight Championship against impossible odds!"
JBL leaned into his microphone, a wide, satisfied grin on his face. "I told you two! I told the whole world! You do not bet against the God King! Wade Barrett tried to rig the game, he tried to use his thugs to steal the crown, and Sandro dropped him right on his head! The Nexus got exactly what they deserved!"
"You have to wonder where Wade Barrett's head is at after a loss like that," Cole noted, shuffling his notes. "But tonight, we are focused on the incredible action right here on SmackDown. And we are kicking things off with a massive tag team contest!"
The energetic, hip hop beat of Cryme Tyme's theme music hit the sound system, and the arena instantly erupted into cheers.
JTG and Shad Gaspard stepped through the curtain, wearing their signature street gear and heavily customized gold chains. Secured tightly around their waists were the WWE Tag Team Championships. They slapped hands with the fans, playing to the crowd as they marched down the ramp, looking incredibly confident as the reigning kings of the tag team division.
Their opponents were already waiting in the ring. It was a massive, highly intimidating, but visibly mismatched duo, the powerhouse Ezekiel Jackson and the arrogant, calculating Jinder Mahal.
"This is a non title match, but it is a massive proving ground," Cole explained as the bell rang to officially start the contest. "Ezekiel Jackson and Jinder Mahal have demanded this opportunity, but you have to wonder if they have the chemistry to hang with the champions."
The match kicked off with Shad Gaspard and Ezekiel Jackson locking up in the center of the ring. It was a pure, explosive test of raw strength. The two behemoths grappled for position, neither man willing to give an inch. Big Zeke finally gained the upper hand, powering Shad into the corner and delivering a heavy, clubbing blow to the chest.
Ezekiel whipped Shad across the ring, lowering his shoulder for a heavy tackle, but Shad absorbed the impact, bouncing off the ropes and returning fire with a massive shoulder block of his own that knocked Ezekiel off his feet.
The crowd cheered as Shad immediately tagged in JTG.
Cryme Tyme showcased exactly why they held the gold. Shad hoisted JTG into the air, tossing his partner over the top rope so JTG could deliver a flying leg drop across Ezekiel's throat. JTG scrambled for the cover, but Jackson easily powered out at two.
JTG used his speed to keep the bigger man off balance, landing rapid-fire punches and a beautiful dropkick. But as JTG hit the ropes to build momentum, Jinder Mahal reached over from the apron and slapped Ezekiel's back, blindly tagging himself into the match.
Ezekiel looked furious. He glared at Jinder, clearly frustrated by the selfish tag.
Jinder ignored his partner, sliding into the ring and immediately going to work on JTG. Mahal used a much more grounded, technical style, hitting a stiff high knee that dropped JTG to the canvas. Jinder locked in a tight chinlock, trying to slow the pace and ground the high flyer.
"Look at the miscommunication," Lawler pointed out. "Ezekiel had JTG right where he wanted him, and Jinder just robbed him of the momentum. That is exactly why you cannot throw two singles competitors together and expect them to beat Cryme Tyme."
JTG fought through the hold, feeding off the rhythmic clapping of the Missouri crowd. He delivered three sharp elbows to Jinder's ribs, broke free, and hit a stunning spinning neckbreaker.
Both men crawled toward their respective corners. JTG leaped and tagged in a fresh Shad Gaspard. Jinder scrambled and tagged Ezekiel.
Shad charged in like a runaway freight train, ducking a clothesline from Ezekiel and delivering a massive big boot that nearly took Big Zeke's head off. Jinder tried to run in to break the momentum, but Shad caught him by the throat, lifting Mahal up and planting him with a brutal chokeslam!
Ezekiel staggered to his feet, but Shad was ready, hooking Jackson's arms and executing a flawless STO. Shad hooked the leg, and the referee dropped to count.
One!
Two!
Suddenly, a harsh, blaring siren violently interrupted the count.
The heavy, aggressive theme music of the Nexus ripped through the stadium speakers.
The Missouri crowd instantly fell into a state of sheer confusion, which rapidly morphed into a deafening wall of loud, hostile boos.
"What the hell is this?!" Cole yelled, standing up at the desk. "The Nexus?! What are they doing on Friday Night SmackDown?!"
Pouring through the crowd, leaping over the barricades from all sides of the arena, were the members of the Nexus. Ryback, Mason Ryan, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young, Curtis Axel, and Michael Tarver swarmed the ringside area like a pack of starving wolves.
They slid under the bottom rope simultaneously, flooding the ring.
The referee frantically called for the bell, ending the match in an immediate disqualification. But the bell did nothing to stop the violence.
The eight men descended on Cryme Tyme, Ezekiel Jackson, and Jinder Mahal. It was a complete, ruthless mugging. Mason Ryan grabbed Shad Gaspard, driving him into the corner with heavy shoulder thrusts.
Ryback scooped up Ezekiel Jackson, marching around the ring before planting the massive powerhouse with a devastating Shell Shocked.
Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater double teamed JTG, stomping the Tag Team Champion into the canvas. Curtis Axel grabbed Jinder Mahal, hitting a vicious twisting neckbreaker that left Mahal completely motionless.
"This is an absolute disgrace!" Cole screamed as the Nexus systematically dismantled all four competitors. "They have no business being on this brand!"
"They are cowards, Michael!" JBL roared, ripping his headset off in pure disgust. "They got their teeth kicked in by the God King on RAW, so they run over to SmackDown to pick on guys who have already been wrestling for fifteen minutes! It is pathetic!"
Once the ring was completely cleared of any resistance, Wade Barrett slowly walked out from behind the curtain on the entrance stage.
The Nexus leader looked like a man who had just survived a brutal war. His ribs were heavily wrapped in thick white medical tape beneath his black t-shirt. A fresh, white bandage was secured around his forehead, covering the spot where Sandro's elbow had nearly taken his head off. He walked with a slight, painful limp, but his face was twisted into a mask of pure, arrogant defiance.
Barrett requested a microphone from a terrified ringside technician. He slowly walked down the ramp, surrounded by a chorus of deafening boos, and stepped into the ring to join his soldiers.
Barrett looked down at the broken bodies of Cryme Tyme, Ezekiel Jackson, and Jinder Mahal. He raised the microphone to his lips, a dark, bruised smile forming on his face. "I know exactly what all of you internet bottom feeders are saying," Barrett began, his thick accent echoing through the hostile arena. "I've seen the tweets. I've read the forums. You think because Sandro Zhang got lucky on Monday night, the Nexus is finished. You think we are broken."
