Little Clarissa leaned over, carefully examining the yellow pouch with curiosity, "What could it be?"
"When you turn eighteen, you can ask your brother Daniel," Ella Lacey smiled warmly.
"Why wait so long?" Little Clarissa was puzzled, "What if it rots, spoils, or evaporates...what then?"
"It won't, sweetheart. Mommy added preservatives to keep it fresh," Ella comforted her daughter.
"Oh! That's good!"
Little Clarissa took it seriously.
She lifted her bright eyes, gazing up at Daniel Shaw, who was a head taller than her. With utmost sincerity, she said, "Brother Daniel, I hope that when you turn eighteen, it's still you and me together, so I can be the first to know what's inside the pouch."
"Alright, I promise," Daniel agreed generously.
