Aldana responded and took the cane, standing up and following Eric and Ellen out of the hotpot restaurant.
It was a little past 2 p.m. The number of people on the top floor was fewer than at noon, but there were still guests continuously taking the elevator up. Eric held Aldana's hand, his tall figure like a solid wall, shielding her from the customers.
He carried shopping bags in his hands, dutiful like a bodyguard.
Finally, after taking the elevator down, Ellen checked the time and said, "Let's go to Norris' place and pick up Rory."
Aldana responded, "Sure…"
Just as she finished speaking, a man wearing sunglasses walked over from a parked black Bentley, stopping in front of them. Eric halted, stepping in front of Aldana, and stared coldly at the stranger with a fierce look in his eyes.
The man swallowed his words that had reached his throat when he saw Eric's piercing gaze, feeling like a frog being stared down by a snake, every hair on his body standing on end.
