She slowly closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and leaned against the door with a sense of indifference. There was no sound from inside, and she didn't know if Philip Shaw had left. She straightened her legs, resting quietly against the door, until the chill of the cold night gradually seeped up from her feet, causing the injured nerves and tissues in her ankle to ache faintly.
She closed her eyes momentarily, pinching the bridge of her nose. Just as she was about to get up, she heard a gentle knock on the door from outside.
Aldana Candi stood up, holding onto the doorknob, and looked through the peephole to see Eric Candi standing outside. She breathed a slight sigh of relief, opened the door, and smiled, "What's up?"
"Nothing?"
Aldana was momentarily taken aback, giving him a puzzled look, and then heard Eric slowly explain, "I just heard some noise inside the room."
