After waking a second time, Cole felt well enough to come downstairs to find something to eat.
Instead, he found En and Randy lying on the living-room floor. "Why do you two look like a mural fell on you?"
"Says the guy who looked like a member of the living dead last night!" En shouted.
Cole scoffed. "Well, that was rude."
"Says the guy who barely managed to use the stairs!" En said.
"Enough," Ame sighed. "I know why you're miserable, but you don't have to make it everyone else's problem."
Cole's eyes widened. "You look worse than they do. Did a building fall on you?"
"My husband is just a worrywart."
Said the woman who looked like a museum had let a toddler repair one of its statues.
En squinted up at him. "So you don't plan to have a date with the floor?"
Cole gawked at him. "No, I don't." Then he side-eyed the two of them. "Why are you both on the floor?"
Ame sighed. "They were lying there before you came downstairs."
