Chapter 808 - Chapter 805 Return to Sedona City

At the very edge of Sedona City's port, three heads quietly poked out of the water.

"No one is noticing us, let's go ashore," Florence said softly, looking at the bustling port in the distance. Her fishtail then split and curled back, revealing long legs before she stealthily climbed onto the shore.

The other two did the same, and once ashore, the three of them adjusted their clothes.

Besides Florence, the other two were a man and a woman, both also merfolk, sent by Florence's father to protect her.

Originally, Kusen hadn't agreed to let Florence return to Sedona City in person, but he ultimately couldn't withstand her relentless wheedling and gave in.

Florence had another purpose for returning to Sedona City this time: to discuss trade and cooperation with Lucas.

"Lady Florence, is it really okay for us to just stroll into a human city like this?" Yuka frowned, looking at the bustling port and the lively customs checkpoint, feeling a sudden wave of anxiety.

Yuka was a mermaid warrior responsible for Florence's safety on this trip.

The other person was Lilith, Florence's personal maid, a cute mermaid with deep blue curly hair.

"Yeah, Lady Florence, maybe we should just go back," Lilith shrank her neck and looked down at her own feet, a trace of fear in her eyes.

"It's fine, just follow me," Florence said fearlessly. She picked up the waterproof bag she had brought with her and walked toward customs.

The waterproof bag had been bought for her by Lucas, and she carried it with her whenever she went out.

"Ah, Lady Florence, wait for me!" Seeing Florence walking briskly ahead, Lilith had no choice but to quickly chase after her.

Similarly, Yuka shook his head helplessly. A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he remained constantly vigilant of his surroundings. If there was any danger, he would protect Florence immediately; that was his duty on this trip.

Florence arrived at customs and found a line with fewer people to queue up. Right behind her were a somewhat timid Lilith and Yuka.

The appearance of the three did indeed draw some attention—after all, Florence's beauty was stunning, and her hair was still dripping wet—but no one dared to cause trouble.

Because the armor-clad soldiers stationed at the checkpoint were not just for show. If anyone caused a scene at customs, they would be dragged into the Guard Department's little black room to experience a deluxe three-day tour.

"Huh, it really is fine," Lilith muttered softly.

Yuka was also quite surprised. Everything here was very orderly. People only looked at them; no one tried to get handsy or make untoward remarks.

"Hello, is this your first time in Sedona City?" The registration clerk sitting at the desk asked with a smile.

"No, this is my second time," Florence answered, simultaneously pulling out the temporary residence permit she had obtained in Sedona City last time and handing it to the clerk.

"Welcome back," The clerk smiled, taking the ID. After writing some notes on a registration form, she handed the permit back to Florence with both hands.

"I wish you a pleasant stay in Sedona City," The clerk smiled.

"Thank you," Florence smiled and nodded, excitedly stepping aside.

"Hello, is this your first time in Sedona City?" The clerk asked with a smile, looking at the rather timid Lilith.

"Y-yes, it is," Lilith hesitated for a moment before nodding.

"Alright, and what is your name?" The clerk inquired.

"Lilith," Lilith answered.

"Okay, and where are you from?"

"Mermaid Bay."

"Alright. And what is your purpose for visiting Sedona City?"

"Um, to accompany my lady in visiting a friend," Lilith answered after a moment of thought.

"Very well. This is your entry pass. Please make sure to keep it safe; you will need to return it when you leave," The clerk said, handing a temporary entry pass to Lilith after asking a few routine questions.

There were several ways to enter Sedona City. One was with a resident ID card, and another was by getting an entry pass, which was essentially like a passport. It was temporary.

"Thank you," Lilith took the entry pass, her heart filled with sheer amazement. She hadn't expected the entry process for Sedona City to be this strict.

"Phew, that scared me to death," Lilith said, quickly walking over to Florence with lingering fear.

"It's nothing. Because it's like this, we'll be very safe in Sedona City," Florence laughed.

Soon, Yuka also walked over holding an entry pass, a strange look in his eyes. Evidently, he had just experienced the same line of questioning as Lilith.

"Let's go. We'll go find Lucas first, and then I'll take you two to look around the city," Florence said, walking through the city gates.

Although Lilith was her maid, the two had a very good relationship, almost like sisters.

"Is this Sedona City really as great as you say, my lady?" Lilith asked curiously, her eyes darting everywhere.

"Hehe, of course it is. Especially the food at the castle—it is absolutely the most delicious food in the world," Florence praised. Thinking back to the delicacies she had eaten in the castle before, she secretly swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

"Is it really that good? Even better than giant spearfish?" Lilith's eyes went wide. She was very curious about what kind of food could be praised by her lady as the best in the world.

"Yes, much better than giant spearfish," Florence nodded seriously.

Following behind the two, Yuka looked around while listening to their conversation, sneering inwardly: What kind of food could possibly compare to a giant spearfish?

Clearly, Yuka didn't quite believe Florence's words. He figured she was just caught up in the temporary novelty of it all.

"Let's take a carriage to the castle," Florence said with familiarity.

Clop, clop, clop...

Ten minutes later, the carriage entered the bustling district of Sedona City.

"So this is Sedona City... it's so prosperous," Lilith marveled, looking at the scenery outside the window. Occasionally, she could smell the aroma of food wafting by, making her swallow involuntarily.

"..." Yuka and Lilith were completely stunned by the city's prosperity. The wide roads, the neatly arranged houses, and children hawking newspapers on the streets—it was incredibly vibrant.
