"?!"
The pair of two girls and one boy widened their eyes simultaneously.
"Impossible! I won't agree!"
The blue-haired girl stamped her foot on the ground, decisively disagreeing
Kyosuke and Hitomi are people she cares about. She doesn't want to lose them, and she doesn't want to die either!
"Then I'll have no choice but to kill this toy first, and then kill you all!"
The rabbit raised its chainsaw yet again, threateningly.
"Okay! Okay! I agree!"
Glimpsing the threat of death looming over him, the boy screamed and agreed to her conditions.
"Kyousuke!"
Sayaka's eyes dilated in fright at his abrupt agreement.
Then instantly after, she gritted her teeth. Though she felt shock, a rising anger quickly overtook it.
"Sayaka, Hitomi, you like me, right?" The boy's eyes looked erratically between the two girls. "I've always known that!"
Kyosuke shook his dangling body, making it whirl around from an upside-down position.
"So please choose me!" He shouted erratically yet again, the whites of his eyes reddening. "I want to live!"
At this moment, Kyosuke Kamijou doesn't care about anything else; fear and the will to survive have dominated his mind.
"...."
Upon hearing Kyosuke utter such outrageous words, Sayaka's anger froze over.
Both she and her friend Hitomi cast aggrieved glances at him.
Perhaps they should have been afraid of their lives, perhaps they should have been angry and shaken, however-
At this moment, all the two girls could feel was disappointment and self-loathing.
Disappointment at the fact that the guy they liked was such a person, and self-loathing at themselves for not realizing it sooner.
"I…"
Sayaka clenched her fists, taking deep breaths.
"Come on!"
She wildly flared one arm, an expression of determination appearing on her face as she resolved to survive or die trying.
"You monster, I will never give up!"
The blue-haired middle school student picked up one of the many sticks on the ground, lifting and pointing it at the rabbit doll.
She will fight the rabbit doll to the death, even though she knows that she definitely won't defeat it!
"Wait! Sayaka!"
Hitomi quickly grabbed Sayaka's extended arm and held her back from throwing her life away.
"Let's wait for Teacher Adam to come." She said, her expression calming down. Somehow, she managed to remain clear-headed enough to remember what they had discussed with Adam. "He'll be here soon!"
"Ah…"
Hearing her say that, Sayaka let out a sound of realization,
At her reminder, she recalled that they had made a promise with Adam today.
Knowing that their savior would definitely find out what's going on here, the blue-haired girl's emotions returned to calmness like her friend.
"Are you waiting for someone?"
The rabbit doll tilted its head
"Kihihi! It's no use! Here, I'm the strongest!"
It cackled, brandishing its whip and slamming it against the air repeatedly.
"Oh, really?"
An emotionless voice echoed throughout the whole Witch's barrier soon after
Before it could react in any shape or form, it was torn apart- split apart into two pieces from its head right down to its base.
Thud
Thud
As the two pieces of the rabbit doll made contact with the ground, Adam appeared in their field of vision with his hands behind his back. He calmly walked towards them with measured steps.
-The Witch that had brought them such terror was annihilated within a single move.
"Teacher Adam!"
Sayaka shouted in relief, and Hitomi smiled with delight.
Both of them ran over to him quickly, at ease now that he had appeared.
"Sayaka, Hitomi, are you alright?"
Adam asked as he casually pulled Kyosuke down to the ground with telekinesis.
"We're alright."
Hitomi clasped her hands in front of her chest, as if grasping her heart.
After being saved by him, it beat even faster. She went from fear and terror, to relief. This is the first time she's experienced such emotional ups and downs.
"Yes, thank goodness you arrived in time!"
Sayaka nodded along, a lingering fright still being present on her expression.
Despite the fact that this isn't the first time she's experienced this, she is still feeling terrified.
Of course, with a tacit understanding, the lying Kyosuke is ignored by both of them. After all, that happened. They will both try to ignore the heartbreak that the boy caused him with his actions and behavior.
"That's good. Let me take you out first."
He nodded with a smile.
Then, Adam casually put his arms around their waists and used telekinesis to lift up Kamijou Kyosuke, who was lying on the ground groaning in pain. With a light step, he took off into the sky, flying towards the outside of the witch's barrier.
The moment this move registered in the two girls' minds, a faint flush arose in both of them simultaneously.
However, they said nothing.
The teacher had already saved them twice, so they didn't say anything. They were fairly confident that he was doing this so that they wouldn't accidentally fall!
…
Seeing their expressions, Adam breathed a sigh of relief.
It's good that his predictions came true- the two girls didn't emotionally collapse or sink into depression instantly.
It was worth it to team up with Kyubey this time. They realized the true face of their crush- and did so without their negative emotions reaching witch-levels.
-That's right, everything this time was his orchestration.
He had Kyubey bring a Witch to him. Then he corrupted and hypnotized her to make her act according to his script.
Of course, briefly, he entertained thoughts of amplifying Kyosuke's fear… But in the end, he didn't do it.
He had a faint hope. Hope in the courage of humanity when they are pushed to their very limits.
Unfortunately, the boy Hitomi and Sayaka both liked didn't exhibit the best trait of humanity. For him to say such things, Adam didn't even need to amplify his negative emotions.
Was it despicable? It was. But he doesn't care. It took only a little bit of time and effort to make two students get over their hurdle.
…
..
.
In the real world, back in the ward:
Adam casually placed Kamijou Kyosuke on the hospital bed, then he turned around and asked them:
"Is this the person you want me to treat?"
"Yes."
Hitomi nodded, her lips trembling.
"Although I arrived a little late, my ears picked up what this guy had said." He briefly glanced at the boy lying on the hospital bed before looking into the eyes of the two girls. "Even so, do you still want me to treat him?"
He already knows the answer, but he still asks.
"Yes, treat him."
Sayaka nodded without any hesitation.
Although she is very disappointed in Kyosuke, she still won't hesitate to help him heal his hand.
Good person? The blue-haired girl prefers to consider this as a way to bring this relationship to a close and sever it.
"..."
The green-haired girl remained silent, her head bowed down. However, her silence is already an unspoken agreement
As for Kyosuke Kamijou? He's writhing in pain in the hospital bed. He can't speak, and has no right to do so either.
After receiving confirmation, Adam simply extended his arm. On his wide palm, a warm green glow appeared.
"What is this?"
They both watched as the warm glow sank into the boy in the hospital bed and calmed down his pain.
"Healing magic from another world."
The silver-haired boy explained as the green glow became even more intense in brightness.
"Ah, so it's from another world…"
Sure enough, as soon as he said that, the two girls' expressions became dazed.
Another world sounds very difficult. And this magic shouldn't be easy to use, right?
Adam has no obligation to treat Kyosuke, yet he still did so with a method that's from another world.
In that instant, their gratitude for him deepened. Teacher Adam is truly a good person!
…
In a few seconds, the healing light washed over him, the magic finally completing its job.
After being healed, Kyosuke felt the pain subside. He got up, moved his left hand a few times experimentally, and then his face lit up with ecstasy.
In his heart, he knew why he was healed, so he quickly expressed his gratitude:
"Thank you!"
The boy bowed deeply at Adam.
"No need to thank me; you should thank them instead." He gestured towards Sayaka and Hitomi. "If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have saved you."
Then, without saying anything more, he put his hands in his pockets, turned around, and left the ward to give them some privacy.
"Sayaka, Hitomi, thank you too."
As the door closed behind the silver-haired man's back, Kamijou also thanked the two girls in front of him.
He is truly grateful.
"No need to thank us; this is the last time we'll help you."
Sayaka shook her head in disappointment, directly refusing his thanks.
"...."
The boy looked embarrassed.
He knew what he had said back when he was in danger. It was wrong, and these two are right to be angry at him.
"Okay, you'd better be more careful from now on." The blue-haired girl grasped Hitomi's sleeve. "We'll be leaving."
Seeing him like this, Sayaka had nothing more to say. She only wanted to quickly get away from this place.
The green-haired girl beside her simply sighed with a complicated expression.
She also has nothing left to say, so she let herself be pulled along by Sayaka towards the outside of the ward.
"..."
In the end, only Kyosuke, who felt inexplicably lost, remained in the ward by his lonesome.
…
..
.
"How was it?"
Seeing both girls come out, Adam asked with a smile.
He sat on a chair in the corridor, tapping his thigh as he patiently waited for them.
"I've said what I needed to say."
Sayaka looked down, her face downcast. Even after what happened, she still hoped for Kyosuke to explain himself or at least apologize.
…But there was nothing.
"And thank you again, teacher."
The middle school student thanked him once again dazedly.
"Yes. Thank you for saving us and healing him, teacher."
Not only her, but Hitomi also thanked him with a strange expression.
Evidently, they were both affected.
"It seems like you two are feeling lost."
Adam remarked on something that wasn't hard at all to see.
It's obvious to feel off. After all, their crush just broke their hearts.
Truly a scumbag!
"Sit down." He extended his hand, gesturing towards the seats next to him. "I'm your school councilor. It's time to do my job."
"Okay…"
Sayaka sat beside him, her hands supporting her on either side of the chair. She looked up at the ceiling, lost in thought.
Hitomi also sat on his other side, her head bowed down.
"Teacher, Kyosuke and I are childhood friends." The blue-haired girl started. "He's always been outstanding, being a violin prodigy with excellent grades."
She then raised her hand, scratching her head sheepishly.
"It's normal for me to like someone like that, right?"
Her face fell, a gloomy air appearing around her.
"But I'm too ordinary." She bit her lip, her hands trembling. "I specifically studied music, but I was still far from his level. My personality is also like a boy's."
"I figured no one, including Kyosuke, would like me like this, so I just kept those feelings hidden in my heart."
Adam sighed as Sayaka continued explaining her troubles.
An inferiority complex? No, she's just unlucky to chance upon someone who's more likely to be sexually interested in his violin rather than a girl.
"But who said no one likes you?"
He interrupted her, cutting in to deliver an attack that will (probably) make her feel better:
"I think you're very cute. There should be many boys that like you."
It's the objective truth. Adam has noticed at least 5 boys that like her. And there are definitely more. Although Sayaka isn't as famous as Hitomi, she's still in the top echelon.
"I-ah-!"
The blue-haired girl, who was about to continue speaking, choked on her words. Her face instantly flushed red, and her eyes widened.
