They would trust in what they were shown, as the media was believed to be something that reported the news as accurately as possible to ensure that the truth would be known, regardless of the power certain influences had to try to change those reports to report their narrative.

They had to be able to trust that those forms of media were reporting the news without being swayed by such things and that they were simply stating the facts.

Even if some people did not fully believe that they would be without other influences making them do such things, there was no proof.

Those people would just seem like conspiracy theorists to others.

Even if there were other forms of media that reported differently from what was being reported, the masses would be more likely to pay attention to the bigger forms of media that had a more well-known name and were more trustworthy or accurate in the news they reported.
