Third Person POV.
The Wall.
...
...
Odahviing observed from a distance the small roars coming from the Wall of ice, while he was at the edge of the northern realm. Even at night, he could distinguish the wall before him, like the mass that cut across the entire horizon.
"Then he is there... and they are using that repugnant magic..." Even at that distance, he could already feel the necromantic magic coming from where he had heard the roar, more to the left.
Odahviing headed there, beating his wings at high speed, gaining more momentum than any other dragon could have. He had only arrived in the North at night because he was curious about this world and had stopped in some places.
Some villages experienced terror upon encountering the dragon, who despite not having killed or burned the places, made them feel the terror of those fierce eyes watching them for a time, while they fled and the dragon asked some questions, always calling them 'mortal creatures'.
Back to the present, he soon spotted the torches, with a small army advancing, and saw the dragon flying near them. A weak dragon from that world should not even be worthy of his attention.
The Dovahkiin was collecting them instead of killing them as he did in Skyrim, but Odahviing said nothing about it, if he wanted to collect such weak creatures, that was his problem.
The roar sounded once more and Odahviing decided to play, so he acted.
Odahviing opened his mouth.
-ROAAAARRRRR-
Euron, who was flying, did not fail to look in surprise toward the middle of the darkness of the sky when the roar caught his attention. Even his men immediately knew how to differentiate the roar of the cream-colored dragon from that new roar coming from farther away — especially when a shockwave came right after.
There was a great difference between a dovah dragon and a valyrian dragon. The Dovah mastered magic and were walking calamities instead of fire-breathing beasts.
The moment the shockwave hit Euron and his dragon, both felt the impact. The dragon lost balance in the air, being thrown backward, while the force also hit the ground, lifting snow and knocking men down as the wave advanced, even making the Wall itself tremble and crack in some places.
Euron managed to regain balance by a hair, almost falling, while he looked dazed as he saw a shape finally appearing to him as the sound of wings grew louder and louder. It was a spiked dragon, smaller than his, coming in his direction.
"What the hell is that?", Euron muttered, still dazed.
The dragon began to beat its wings to reduce speed, stopping in front of him. There was no rider on its back, and for a moment Euron remained silent. His cream-colored dragon, however, roared as a challenge. The other dragon remained there, still.
It was as if it were mocking the larger dragon and finding its roar amusing, as if it were insignificant.
'Could that Daemon be using those powers of his to control animals? Can he control dragons as well like he does with those other animals?', Euron debated in his mind, with clear envy. He had always felt a certain envy of what Daemon represented, he was filled with powers that no one could explain, not even the witches of Asshai whom he had captured and tortured.
Compared to what he saw Daemon do in his visions, Euron seemed like just a child playing with magic... He wanted that power, the entire world would be under his feet if he possessed all that power... That is why he yielded to his new master, so that he could gain powers.
At the same time, Euron realized that he had not seen that dragon in his visions, nor among the other two dragons of Aegon Blackfyre or Daemon's white dragon.
"What do we have here, then?" The voice came from the dragon itself, making even the men on the ground along with the dead, who were trying to recover from the shockwave that knocked most of them down, look up, surprised to hear that voice — an ancient voice, with a malicious tone.
"A little rat with wings..." the dragon added.
"What are you?", Euron muttered, uneasy.
"Why should I say, mortal? You would never understand... You are just another rat, riding a little winged rat. The Dovahkiin asked me to protect this place. He warned me about you... and I am here to destroy you." His voice did not lose its malicious tone as he stared at Euron with fierce and arrogant eyes.
"Dracarys!" Euron did not waste time. He immediately unleashed flames, while the dragon remained there, still.
As the flames were about to hit him, they suddenly began to collide against an invisible wall, while the dragon itself created a shield.
Euron was quite shocked by that, while the dragon remained unmoving, until the flames finally dissipated and the shield disappeared.
"Did you really think that this beast, even being larger than me, would have any chance against a dovah dragon? You mortals are arrogant until you discover true power. I am a son of Akatosh. At this moment, I will show you, mortal, what we are capable of."
With those words, Euron quickly turned his dragon, as Odahviing suddenly advanced at high speed. However, the dragon did not attack Euron. Instead, it made a curve and advanced toward the ground, where the army of ironborn and zombies was.
"Let us first deal with these ants, since the Dovahkiin said I could massacre these humans," he said before starting to breathe fire.
Everyone tried to protect themselves, but there was a problem: those flames were quite different from what they expected from a dragon. As soon as they touched the ground, they simply exploded, forming a sea of fire much larger than any valyrian dragon could produce. While common dragons were limited to the area where they breathed fire, those flames advanced with speed, spreading across the army.
Men were consumed immediately, even those who were at a supposedly safe distance. They screamed as they were burned by flames much hotter than any other dragon could produce.
The zombies were also consumed.
"That repugnant magic...", Odahviing growled at the necromancy, roaring once more. The very flames that had already spread began to take shape, advancing mainly over all the consumed zombies.
Euron, who until a moment ago had been quite confident, now looked terrified. His army was wiped out in just one move?? There were at least ten thousand men there, counting the living and the dead, and the flames spread, massacring them all.
No dragon could do that. Not even Daemon's white dragon. Blackfyre's dragons could kill hundreds of men with each breath of fire, yes, but twelve thousand?
The truth was that, since there were no mages among those men, there was no way to stop those dovah magic flames. Even if they could fight, there was nothing to be done. In the end, the dovah were above all living beings, and for Odahviing this was easy.
In this world without magic to protect against this Dovah dragon, Odahviing was a calamity greater than the Night King himself...
There were about five thousand zombies and five thousand living men. The zombies were easy to destroy. The men, with nothing to protect themselves from the flames, were also consumed.
So, it was not a great task for Odahviing to wipe them out.
A feeling of terror was consuming Euron for the first time since he had ascended with his powers, as the dragon began to turn its body, shifting its attention back to the Greyjoy.
A malicious smile began to form on the dragon's face.
'How can this be possible, I should be invincible with my dragon!' Euron exclaimed in his mind.
"I can feel your fear, mortal. I thought it would be boring, but I am actually enjoying seeing your despair," said the dragon, with an almost casual tone — and yet still quite terrifying.
Now Euron could see that that dragon was also a calamity, something capable of bringing great destruction to the world on its own.
'Where did this dragon come from? Who is the Dovahkiin? I cannot understand...', he thought, but the fear was real. He needed to go to his master, he needed to get out of there immediately. He moved forward, ordering his dragon to fly, trying to escape.
That seemed to amuse Odahviing. He immediately began to spit fireballs, which advanced directly toward Euron. Barely, he managed to dodge, as more and more flaming projectiles were launched in his direction.
"Where do you think you are going?" Odahviing advanced, seeing Euron pass through the Wall toward the north. He quickly followed him.
Euron seemed more and more frightened. More fireballs were fired, but none managed to hit him. Even when he began to believe he would not be able to escape, suddenly Odahviing stopped. He did not follow to the north of the Wall.
That made Euron breathe in relief and move forward in search of his master.
In truth, Odahviing could have followed him and killed him, but he did not want to. He was just having fun. To him, Euron was just a little rat running away. Soon, he would return — and then he could enjoy even more the fear of that prey, who is terrified of the mighty Odahviing!
"So be it... The Dovahkiin will be annoyed, but it does not matter. I am doing him a favor. So, at least, I want to have fun," said Odahviing, hovering near the Wall, perhaps waiting for the little rat.
Euron did not appear for the rest of the night. So, Odahviing headed directly to the center of the Wall.
The Night's Watch was frightened when the roar echoed along with the first rays of the sun. Everyone, including the Lord Commander, went outside the castle upon seeing a dragon flying above the Wall.
He approached, while the men keeping watch at the top began to flee, screaming in fear. The dragon landed, crushing one of the observation structures, without caring, remaining there.
The men of the Watch did not know what to do, trapped between the dragon and the Wall itself. The creature simply remained still, like a bird on a perch with its wings folded, looking to the north.
His eyes fixed for a moment, until he turned his face and looked at the frightened mortals trembling at his magnificent presence. Odahviing snorted, feeling a certain pride in the fear his presence caused.
"Tell the leader of this place that I will be taking this spot on the wall of ice. I am here at the request of the Dovahkiin to protect the Wall. I only ask that you do not irritate me, mortals."
His voice echoed, reaching the castle below, while everyone exchanged looks filled with pure terror.
"Dovahkiin...?" Benjen, who was near Jeor Mormont, could not help but comment in surprise.
"Do you know what it means?" Jeor asked, frowning and thinking about how he could deal with this bizarre situation. When he already had problems with an army of the dead and thousands of men who were forced to join the Watch because of Daemon, while he was always one step away from a mutiny from those same men.
"Dovahkiin is the name Daemon uses to refer to himself many times, Lord Commander..." Benjen replied.
His words made the Lord Commander frown, but he had no choice but to take the elevator and go up to the Wall along with Benjen and some other men.
The dragon that was standing still turned its head as it sensed them approaching, staring at them with fierce eyes that made everyone swallow hard. Its eyes stopped on Jeor Mormont.
"Are you the one who commands this place, mortal?"
Jeor swallowed hard. "Yes. And you are here to protect the Wall?", the Lord Commander said carefully.
"Yes. I will remain in this place to take care of this wall. There is a strong smell of necromantic magic coming from the North. The Dovahkiin asked me to keep this place safe from that little winged rat... or from those necromancers of the north," said Odahviing, with disdain, before looking at Benjen Stark beside him.
He began to breathe in the air and his eyes narrowed. "I smell the blood of the Dovahkiin... you... are you related to him?"
"Yes... yes," Benjen said cautiously.
"I see. But you are far too weak. Are you sure you share blood with him?", Odahviing asked. What he saw before him was nothing more than a man he could easily destroy. He had nothing to do with the Dovahkiin, he did not understand why the Dovahkiin had someone so weak as a relative.
The men exchanged glances. Benjen did not know what to say.
"Well... Daemon is powerful," Benjen muttered to his companions...
The dragon let out a sound of disdain. "So be it. Just do not bother me. I will only leave to hunt, but I will remain here until the Dovahkiin arrives."
That left them somewhat lost, but they returned to Castle Black, still discussing among themselves.
"There is nothing to be done. If that dragon is there by Daemon's order, it is not our job to question it. After all, I doubt the Watch could deal with its fury...", the one who spoke was Aemon Targaryen, the maester, with his voice still low.
"Tell me, maester... is that dragon valyrian?", Benjen asked. It was obvious that it was not.
No dragon in their world could speak, much less recognize Daemon as Dovahkiin, the extraterrestrial term for Daemon in that other world. He had commented before about dragons from another world, and Benjen wanted to confirm with Aemon.
"You know the answer, Lord Stark," Aemon said, with a sad smile. "This is the kind of dragon that Daemon once told me brings the same kind of calamity as the Night King beyond the Wall. If it is here to help us, we should be grateful... because, if it were an enemy, the Wall would not have lasted long."
"He spoke of a 'little winged rat'... do you know anything about that, maester Aemon?" the Lord Commander asked.
"There are reports that a dragon was taken in Oldtown... perhaps you are referring to it." Aemon murmured.
At that moment, the door was slammed open. "My lord!", one of the soldiers who had been sent to the west rushed in. "I come to report that there was an attack in the West... One of ours arrived after riding all night! He is quite frightened of the dragon on the wall as well."
That caught everyone's attention, as the man was called forward, saying that his commander had asked him to pass this information immediately to Castle Black.
"While I was fleeing... I heard the sound of a winged creature. A dragon. It is that dragon! It is going to kill us!" He began to speak hysterically.
"You are wrong about that..." Jeor sighed. The man had seen a dragon with the ironborn yesterday, it was normal to associate Odahviing with that dragon.
But the pieces connected immediately.
Jeor Mormont could not help but sigh. It seemed that things were getting quite noisy lately.
