Chapter 161: Tsundere Friend
Kakashi and Obito are at the age where they wanted to play and spend a lot of time with their parents too. But even at this age, they still innocence and not tainted even in the standard shinobi world.
Although they are innocence but their trait and individual personalities were already beginning to show. Obito was simply a shiny and kind boy, who gave away his snacks without thinking twice and smiled at strangers as easily as he smiled at people he had known his whole life.
Kakashi, on the other hand, was already shaping up to be something closer to a tsundere, the type who said no to something and then turned around and did exactly that thing anyway without ever admitting the contradiction.
It started the very next time their families crossed paths.
"You can come over," said Obito, holding up a small wooden kunai toy with both hands as though it were a treasure he was personally offering. "We can play."
"No," said Kakashi immediately, not even looking up from the book his mother had given him to keep him occupied.
Obito blinked, undeterred.
"Why not?" he asked.
"Because I am busy," said Kakashi.
He was not busy, he just lied to Obito. Currently he was sitting on a cushion while turning pages he was not actually reading, but he said it with enough conviction that even he seemed to believe it for a moment.
Obito sat down next to him anyway and held the wooden kunai out closer.
"Just for a little bit," said Obito.
"I said no," said Kakashi, closing the book with more force than necessary.
Five minutes later Kakashi was standing in the garden holding the wooden kunai, showing Obito the correct way to hold it because Obito grip was, in his words, "completely wrong and would embarrass him in front of real shinobi one day."
"You said you were busy," said Obito happily, in no way bothered by the inconsistency of Kakashi and in fact rather pleased about it.
"I am still busy," said Kakashi, adjusting Obito fingers on the handle of Toy Kunai. "This is different. You were doing it wrong and someone needed to fix it."
"Okay," said Obito, clearly not buying the explanation but he was wise enough even at two years old not to push it any further.
It happened again two days later when Obito brought over a small toy frog he had found and insisted on showing to Kakashi specifically because, in his exact words, "Kashi would like it best."
"I do not care about frogs," said Kakashi.
He held the frog for the next twenty minutes, examining it from every angle and asking Obito where exactly he had found it, what color it was before he picked it up and whether there were more where it came from.
"You said you did not care about frogs," said Obito.
"I am only holding it because you keep talking," said Kakashi, not looking up from the frog.
Obito grinned at him and had decided he liked it.
Maybe because they met too early or maybe because Obito had not yet met Nohara Rin, his crush. Apparently Rin are rarely playing outside at this age, she lived a short distance away and her family situation is different from canon timeline.
Rin parents were both alive and had recently welcomed a second child into the family, a baby brother who had arrived just a few months earlier. So Rin spend more time with her brother and something poked her brother cheek.
While their future meeting was still ahead of them. For now, Obito attention belonged to Kashi because he was fun to play with.
Meanwhile, Nohara are playing dolls with her little brother, she was dolling up her brother to look like a princess.
Currently her world are only her family and little brother and she still didn't have other friends, because she was still too young. Her parents didn't let play outside alone and when they are going outside, she would be accompanied by both her parents.

AMEGAKURE
Thanks to the war that ended early and the death of Hanzo Salamander after being killed by Raiken.
The whole atmosphere in Amegakure changed to a better places, before this it wasn't even a place for a kids to live despite having too many infant and kids living there.
But now with the new governance and it got some help from Uzumaki Clan, the amegakure civillian can see the differences on the village.
Raiken didn't just save Nagato parent, he also helped Yahiko and Konan.
"Mother," asked Konan while her finger pointed to the fish gut. "Why are you cut this part out from the fish?"
"It will be fishy if we cook this part too and it doesn't taste good," replied Konan mother.
"I see," nodded Konan and continue helping her mother.
Konan live in small village and a bit far from town, at this age Konan are like curious child and wanted to know about cooking and sometimes she would also play with the village children.
While on the other sides of Amegakure, Yahiko are trying to play outside, he currently have many brothers to play with.
Lives are truly wonderful, without a war the number of people steadily increased.
Many people are getting married and having a child, especially in this era that didn't have much entertainment.
Raiken are not yet migrating his VR Entertainment to smaller village, even to those places who have lots of people. He had minimize how much time they can enter the VR because game are truly destroying someone livelihood if he let those people entered 24/7 nonstop.
So the best way to make sure the economy won't collapse is by putting how much time for every person to play the games. Furthermore, they also need money to play the VR games and Raiken won't let the VR be duplicatedl.
The sole owner of VR industry are still on Uzumaki hand, so it was easy to monopolize it.
