Chapter 158: Fugaku Frustration
Hyuga Clan finally become civillian the same like Senju Clan, this move shocked the whole Konoha especially the former Senju Clan.
Just as they prepared to adopt the Senju family once again, they were forced to accept their past decision once again.
If Senju make a move to take regain the former clan name, it would make them a bad person inside Konoha.
Thankfully, Mito never once try to interrupt the process even if the matter was brought to her.
"I will support what ever good for Senju Clan, it was my son and husband clan."
So now all of this farce cannot be blamed on her, they can only hate Senju Clan on why they suddenly following up Senju path to become normal civillian.
The status of civillian no longer like a commoner thanks to 2 influential clan who finally become a normal civillian ninja.
While inside Hyuga Clan, some are happy because that means they can pursue their crush outside of the clan.
The only reason that hold them back are Hyuga Clan, now without something that held them they decided to do what ever they want.
Not all of them are happy for example Hyuga Rento, he knows what the difference between Clan Shinobi and Civillian shinobi for his descendant but he had no power to overturn Hokage decision.
After the incident with the Hyuga clan come to an end, Konoha and the rest of the world entered the moment of peace. With Sakumo, Shikajin and Raiken governance, even the people outside of Konoha got some benefit.
He used his knowledge and expanded his merchant business to other villages, thanks to their last defeat he didn't face any difficulty to open up a new market there.
At first they were quiet angry but several months passed and they found out, it wasn't Konoha who got benefit even their economy size increased.
Seven months had passed since Sakumo took the seat of the Fourth Hokage and in that time the changes become more obvious. More lower income people become rich and now they are lot of middle income people, the noble system had been restructured, the Hyuga situation had been resolved and the general mood of the village become livelier.
Most people were happy but there was one man who always moody and that man was Uchiha Fugaku.
He sat alone on the roof of the Uchiha Residence main building, his arms resting across his knees and his expression was quite scary.
He was not going to admit what was bothering him, not to anyone, his father and barely even to himself. But the truth was his heart had been broken after Mikoto choose to marry Raiken.
At first he agreed because of two thing, the first one is because of power he got after marrying her and the second reason was because she was a beauty.
When he saw their marriage last time, something had broken Fugaku heart.
"This woman should be mine."
But it was too late, the one who had married Mikoto was not someone he could deal with. Raiken popularity was not joke even inside Uchiha Clan, hardly people hated him because of what he did to Uchiha Clan.
Many Uchiha Bachelor found love and got their child thanks to Raiken recommendation for both clan to marry each other.
Mikoto didn't feel the same way because she had fallen in love with her husband, Uzumaki Raiken. He was kind of gentle, take care of her feeling, would help her with housework and would try to spend at least morning breakfast with her if he was too busy.
Whenever he looked at Mikoto or Raiken, he was struggled to compose himself from attacking then.
'Mikoto would have been his if Raiken didn't come to konoha, she was the granddaughter of Hikaku, one of the most respected figures in Uchiha and the current clan leader.'
While he was being groomed by his family to become next clan leader and then Raiken arrived and his supposed position was halted because of him.
Fugaku had no complaint about Raiken as a person, which was perhaps the most frustrating part of the entire situation. He could not call the man cruel or dishonest or unworthy. Raiken had ended a war, he had protected both the clan, protected the village and done it all while somehow also finding the time to fundamentally alter the political landscape of the entire elemental nations. He was respected by people, even Fugaku himself respected and that made disliking him feel petty in a way that Fugaku could not comfortably sit with.
But he hated that man after looking his marriage with Mikoto, he didn't tell anyone but during their wedding he had cried his heart out and coincidentally he awaken Mangekyou Sharingan.
Fugaku didn't know yet, but his awakening while on the state of obsessing against Mikoto would make him do something outrageous.
He heard footsteps on the roof behind him and did not turn around.
"You have been up here for two hours," said Uchiha Yashiro.
Fugaku said nothing.
"The meeting with the elders is tomorrow morning," said Yashiro. "You should go back."
"I know when the meeting is," said Fugaku.
Yashiro was quiet for a moment, looking out over the village the same way Fugaku had been doing.
"You are still thinking about her," said Yashiro. It was not a question because he knows exactly about Fugaku.
"I am thinking about the clan," denied Fugaku.
"You are thinking about the clan and also about her," said Yashiro without any particular judgment in his tone.
Fugaku did not confirm it and did not deny it either.
"Raiken is not a bad man," said Yashiro carefully.
"I know that," said Fugaku, and the way he said it made clear that knowing it was precisely the problem.
If Raiken had been someone easier to dismiss it would have been simpler to deal with him. Anger was a clean emotion, it moved in a straight line and it had somewhere to go. But what Fugaku was carrying was not anger, not exactly and it did not have anywhere clean to go which was what made it so difficult to put down.
"There are other women," said Yashiro.
Fugaku gave him a look that said everything through his eyes.
Yashiro raised both hands slightly and dropped the subject.
They sat in silence for a while longer, looking at others people from rooftop.
Fugaku looked out at the Uzumaki residence visible in the distance, he looked at it for a moment longer than turned his eyes away.
"I will be at the meeting," said Fugaku, standing up and straightening his cloth.
Yashiro watched him go and said nothing because there was nothing more that needed saying to a man that can't move on. Some things a person simply had to carry until they figured out how to set them down and Fugaku had never been the kind of man who accepted help in that regards.
