Nicole leapt out of the way just before a fireball crashed into her former position. She was beginning to realize the mistake she made by requesting that this witch becomes her tour guide. She hadn't expected the school to have an entire building which was off limits to students and staff. It was the school's old library, and it was under restrictions because it was near it's expiry date. The building could collapse at any moment.
Not only had this witch managed to lure her into this place, but she had also casted a barrier over the space they occupied, which meant there was nowhere for her to run to. She was trapped inside a bubble with this psychopath. Nicole managed to dodge another fireball before going in for an attack. She was obviously faster than the witch, but the witch's defense was beyond what she could deal with.
Not only had her opponent encircled herself with flames, but she had also added a forcefield around herself, leaving no chances of her conceding an attack. Nicole would have to keep playing defense until her adversary decides that they've had enough fun.
"What's your deal Jade? Why do you want to kill me so badly?" Nicole tried reasoning her attacker, but nothing was working.
She evaded another fireball and smacked one down to the floor. Her hand had been burnt by that action, but she was already healing her injuries. If things continued like this, then she might actually die on her first day in school.
"Is this because of Scott? He said you're like a sister to him" Nicole might not have realized it, but her blatant honestly had just worsened her condition. She wasn't the type that told lies randomly, she still stood by the morals she had acquired as a human, and honesty was one of them.
Jade snapped after the vampire had finished her sentence. In the same moment, her defenses dropped and she focused her entire strength into attacking the girl in front of her. It only took a gesture, and the bloodsucking demon was hovering in the air while struggling to stop an invisible force that threatened to strangle her.
"What did you just say?" Jade inquired, but got no reply, not because her opponent couldn't provide her with an answer, but because the girl could barely breathe with Jade trying to choke her to death. Infuriated by her enemies silence, Jade slammed the airborne vampire into the nearest pillar, and shattered it with the impact.
Nicole rose from the rubbles and leapt away just before the ceiling above her crashed down. The building was collapsing. The pillar that her witch friend had just destroyed was probably the only structure holding the entire building from collapsing.
"Look what you did now!" Nicole yelled out to the witch who had already grasped the situation they were in.
Jade casted the vampire before her a wicked look before rushing forward towards the girl. She didn't have the intention to attack, and it was as if the vampire had read her mind. She didn't jump out of the way or try to attack back, she just stood there and waited until Jade took a hold of her hand and teleported them away from the building.
The two of them appeared just behind the building and watched as it was reduced into concrete and iron.
"You saved me" Nicole enunciated as if that much wasn't obvious.
Jade didn't reply the overly excited girl, but merely walked away in silence. The only reason she had saved the girl was because people knew they were together. If the vampire had gotten trapped under the rubble and was later discovered, she would be the one to suffer numerous interrogations, and Jade wasn't ready for that level of stress.
"You should stay away from Scott and my brother, you won't be warned again" She relayed before disappearing from the vampire's sight.
Nicole watched without words as the girl before her disappeared. She hadn't expected that a witch this young would be so powerful. She must definitely keep away from this girl's bad side. However Nicole couldn't imagine the possibility of that. Jade wanted her to stay away from Scott, and she couldn't do that. Something about Scott just drew her to him. There was no way she could just leave without discovering first what caused this attraction she felt.
Nicole raced out of the arena just before the other students began crowding around the fallen building. She was fast, so only those who weren't normal had caught sight of her. Although Jade had just threatened her, she still felt the urge to go after the girl. She just had a feeling that they'll be great friends someday in the future.
