The place Velrion had in mind was the underground chamber beneath the royal palace. There was no place more private than this in all of Leonora. The chamber had been declared strictly forbidden to everyone except the King, Archmage Velrion, and those granted their explicit permission. It served as the sanctuary of the fully restored Sky Anchor, making its protection one of the kingdom's highest priorities.
After passing through multiple layers of security, Erend and Velrion finally entered the chamber. Every guard they passed looked exhausted. Dark circles lingered beneath their eyes, and fatigue showed clearly on their faces after the recent invasion. Even so, none of them relaxed their vigilance. They stood at attention, faithfully guarding the Sky Anchor despite everything they had endured.
Erend instinctively looked upward.
