Third person POV
The next day was a Saturday, and Arturo was in a supermarket selecting ingredients for a Korean kimchi-based lunch in the ADA. He was in the middle of selecting the best kimchi packs imported from South Korea when the entrance of the store burst open. It was Chuuya, his aura flared intensely with anger and grudge. Many shoppers fled the scene, while some staff members dove behind the counters in fear.
"Byeon Arturo…" Chuuya uttered while walking to him. The tiled floor was vibrating.
Arturo then got alerted and looked at him. "Yes?"
"You dared to lie to my face when you were getting a bento…" Chuuya hissed with hostility, "…and humiliated my big boss with a shredded letter…"
Arturo's mind clicked; Chuuya was a part of the Port Mafia, and he was mad at Arturo for what he had done to him and Mori-san.
"This was vengeance in crime…" Arturo's mind raced.
"Can we settle things calmly?" Arturo backed away while preparing his shadows.
"No!" Chuuya's aura flared more and more. "I'll sandwich you in this place!"
Arturo dodged his attack, and wrote in his notepad with a ballpoint pen, "Second Ability: Golden Word! "Thunder!""
Chuuya gets struck down by lightning and collapsed on the floor and debris. "You brat…what the hell is that?"
"That's my second Gift…" Arturo calmly replied, "…Golden Word…"
Chuuya found it unbelievable; for him, a person with more than one Gift is rare.
"H-How?!" he growled, his ability flared violently again. "I thought you only had the shadows one!"
"Well…" Arturo chuckled, "…I am an exception and an oddity."
Chuuya was about to unleash another attack when a hand tapped on his shoulder.
It was Dazai, and Dazai said, "That's enough destruction for one day, Chuuya."
His tone sounded as if he were bored.
Chuuya's ability got nullified, and he turned around angrily. "Mackerel!"
"Arturo-kun is supposed to make a kimchi lunch for us at the Agency…" Dazai replied like a bored person.
The atmosphere changed, and Arturo was astonished that these two men were not strangers to each other.
His mind raced and produced two possibilities:
A: Dazai used to be in the Port Mafia, but for some reason left the organization.
B: Chuuya used to be in the ADA, but for some reason chose the life of a gangster in the Port Mafia.
He took note of the two possibilities as Chuuya bickered at Dazai, who was teasing him.
"I hated you for being a pain in the butt!" Chuuya pushed Dazai poorly.
"Come on, you're ruining the chances of me having a kimchi lunch made by Arturo…" Dazai lazily and mockingly responded.
Because everything is getting annoying, Chuuya spat at Arturo. "It's not over yet, Arturo. The next time we meet, you won't survive being crushed to the ground."
"Um, that was a similar set of words the Black Lizard Commander used on me after he and his gang attacked the ADA," Arturo replied blankly.
Chuuya was annoyed and retreated.
After Arturo purchased his kimchi pack and a few ingredients, he and Dazai returned to the ADA office. There, Arturo made a Korean dish called Crispy Kimchi and Cheddar Omelette, an odd choice for a meal. Atsushi, under Arturo's instructions, steamed some rice in a rice cooker.
By 12:10 p.m., everyone in the office had had lunch. Kunikida and Ranpo found the Korean dish odd but full of flavour. Atsushi felt as if he was in heaven, while Dazai was the most in paradise. Fukuzawa gave a stoical nod at Arturo's cooking while Naomi was shoving omelette into Junichiro's mouth (Arturo found that weird).
"Guys, yesterday, Mori-san, the head of the Port Mafia," Arturo revealed calmly, "tried to win me over with a letter of offer to some high-end university. I know that as a winning over someone over from the opposite side with offers, money, or both. But I knew who sent it and scribbled 'no' in Tagalog, Korean, Japanese, and Kapampangan and shredded it through a paper shredder."
The atmosphere became silent.
"But I wasn't done with being pissed by him," Arturo continued. "I put the shredded letter into a small box, made a note for it, and sent it over to the Port Mafia headquarters. Now, someone Dazai-san was once a friend of was mad at me. We had a fight in a supermarket when I was selecting kimchi packs. Dazai-san did save the day, but that person wasn't done with me. I was prepared."
Hearing the entire Friday-to-this-morning account from someone who just survived Akutagawa's abduction and assault and an entire attack by the Black Lizard, Atsushi was stunned.
His mind said, "He isn't afraid of the Port Mafia…"
Even Kyouka was astonished.
Kunikida wasn't losing his mind; he saw a warrior in Arturo.
