"I regret to inform you that we have lost Viscount Hans von Arco, Your Grace. I received the report just before reporting to you. I deeply apologize."
The words echoed in Lucas' mind like an omen.
Lucas would have rather Callum opened with this new information. It was the most important report of the three stacks in front of him. He glanced at Eva to calm himself down. She is still right in front of me. Safe. He placed the report back down on the desk and smoothed out the edges.
"Take squad two and search all of his old contacts. Old merchants he worked with and the seedy connections that he was in contact with. Chase every lead in his background information. I don't care how much it costs." Lucas folded his hands in front of him.
Callum blinked several times. His breath seemed to catch in his throat. Lucas simply glared down at him.
"Isn't squad two the elite s-squad?" he managed to get out.
