AUTHOR'S POV
Scott didn't know how many more screws were left unhinged in Christina's head. His eyes were too open to see how deranged she is while she forces her lips on him. Repulsed, he pushed Christina down, wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?", Scott hissed in rage at Christina as she fall on the ground.
"But... I thought you let me join you because you've forgiven me? That you're giving us a chance!", Christina cried desperately. Sitting on wet dirt, she looked at Scott as she covet for the Alpha she loved for too long.
Scott felt disgusted at Christina's act of beggar for love. He sighed sharply, and felt nothing but shame on her, who has total limerence as she walk a blind path to love - something Scott will never reciprocate. "I imprinted on her! Can you not put that in that thick head of yours? Stop doing this to yourself. When you imprint, maybe you'll understand.", Scott growled, glaring.
With her lips trembling, Christina stood up, and suddenly knelt on Scott's feet. "I can be the Luna you want! Diana have Roman already, who knows what are they doing right now", Christina was startled, when Scott slapped her.
"Enough Christina!", Scott gritted his teeth in anger.
Christina froze, feeling the sting on her cheek. Slowly, she grabbed something from her back as her face shift to something cold. "If... If I can't have you now..", Christina took out a silver pocket knife from her back. Scott stood on guard at Christina lift her knife against him."Then maybe, we can be together in our next life", she said, as she lunge at Scott.
The vines moved before Scott could. They obeyed something older than instinct. The long green vines swiftly creeped towards Christina and coiled her neck, and limbs, dropping the silver pocket knife out of her hand. Restrained, she grunted as the vines coil tighter, stretching her out, making her unable to move. "You have so much patience for this despicable wolf.", a familiar tiny voice from earlier spoke. Scott turned around and saw Wren sitting on a rock by the stream. Calm. And almost bored.
"Wren!", Scott yelled, eyeing on a such power that he have never seen before.
"This wolf have no respect to our lycan king. She even attempted to hurt you. How absurd that you still haven't killed her", Wren said, as he tap his fingers on his thigh.
"She's just not in her right mind. Let her go", Scott demanded.
The lythari sees imbalance. Something new to their laws. "Lost? No, Lycan. She has completely lost her sanity, and she's a threat to the safety of anyone. Diana would get hurt with her around", Wren replied as he let the vines wrap her limbs entirely. Scott was caught off guard hearing Diana's name from the elf. The lythari is much more dangerous than he thought. "Okay, then maybe just a little mercy", Wren loosened the vines coiled at Christina's neck and limbs. Then, in a while, the vines looped tighter once again. This time, Christina gagged at the tightness, with her skin getting pale, and nails turning blue. "Madness does not excuse rot", he brutally pulled Christina's head and limbs off using the vines. Scott dropped to his knees at the merciless and cruel execution Wren did.
Meanwhile
Diana went back to the cabin with sadness written all over her face. The short walk in the forest was supposed to make her feel lighter. And now, she feels more than shattered, utterly devastated. The weight of being unworthy of the love she thought is for her to keep, and the burden of a family revelation that redefines who she is... all crushes her to ground.
Roman chose to follow her as she break in silence. In his head, he sounded a tune to hit right notes at this perfect time to make Diana waltz her way to him. Not as a rebound, but another source of gravity. His stars have aligned and this is where everything changes. He shows her the way back to the cabin. She doesn't refuse. Her will excites him. It was a prelude to the music that he was composing. A music to lure her to him, never to return to Scott.
Kristia, who have prepared Diana a cool bath and gave her fresh new clothes, was waiting in the living room when Diana arrived. No words were exchanged among them. Just silence that seemed to be heavy to bear. Diana went in the bathroom, and locked the door behind her. With her clothes still on, she submerged herself in the wooden tub full of cold water. The sounds all around became muffled, as the water takes her somewhere quieter and calmer. She closed her eyes, and still sees the kiss Christina and Scott shared that seemed have lingered in her head. The pain have finally bloomed fully. She surfaced above water, catching her breath. Wondering why love has to be this complicated.
"Luna..", Roman knocked on the bathroom door, as it has been more than an hour that she has been there. "I'm opening the door", he turned the knob gently, as he worry for Diana. Suddenly, the door flung open, and Diana rushed out with flushed face and puffy eyes. She hurriedly went to her room where Roman followed. Before Diana could close the door, Roman have already slipped inside... not wanting to leave Diana in her lonely world.
"Can you please... leave me alone", Diana gritted her teeth, refusing to be accompanied by anyone... especially Roman.
Roman sat on the chair inside the room. "I am not going anywhere. You know that".
"Then I'm leaving".
Roman kicked the door close, jamming it well in its frame that it was hard for Diana to open them. "Diana… I'm sorry..", he said in a serious tone. "Call me stupid, or call me dimwit. Get angry with me. Punch me in the face... I know what I did to you was wrong.", he said. Diana gripped the doorknob. Turning it violently, not wanting to be alone with Roman again. When nothing happens, she sighed with her eyes on the knob. She turned to him. He was slumped on the chair with his elbows resting on his knees, looking down.
He was too quiet. As if, he just wanted to there. And strangely, she no longer feels threatened in Roman's presence, despite being locked in a small tight room. Still, Diana just stood there refusing to come closer. "You said the imprint makes you... stuck with one mate. How come Scott didn't refuse her? How come another woman kisses you even when I was there?", her voice shook, seeking for an explanation from someone whom she knew knows the imprint too well.
Roman didn't know the perfect answer that would please Diana. The kiss with some random woman back in the camp happened so sudden that he wasn't able to kick her on the face right away. Though whatever reason he'd give her, it seemed like he speaks for Scott too. And he disliked to make a perfect excuse for himself and for Scott. "It doesn't let you... But it's not like an anti-repellant that keeps the bugs away".
Diana fused her back on the door, wondering what difference does the imprint make when they still get to play with other girls. "Aren't you afraid that you'd die when you're with me? I heard what Oli told you".
"I already decided that you're worth it", Roman answered so easily, as if it has been lying in his head all the time. "I'd rather choose you, stay with you and lose everything... than live knowing that I didn't", Roman smiled at Diana as the dusk beams seep through the narrow crevices on the wooden planks of the windows.
