Ren was already immune to Elena's charms, so he merely asked in a flat tone, "Why are you wearing a mask?"
Elena gave an elegant half-shrug. "So no one would recognize me."
Ren glanced around the ballroom.
Her platinum-blond hair, emerald gown, and graceful movements had already attracted more than a few admiring glances.
Excellent disguise.
He decided not to comment. If Elena wanted to remain anonymous while looking like the most conspicuous person in the room, that was her problem.
As the evening progressed, the ballroom filled with lively conversation, clinking glasses, and music from the orchestra. Nobles danced beneath the chandeliers, exchanging gossip and laughter while enjoying Queen Floraia's hospitality.
