"Remote Strike." Hearing Kanna's proposal, everyone else frowned slightly.
Would it really work? On the battlefield, only two species possessed the capability to unleash devastating long-range attacks, and they were under Iris's command. However, everyone knew that while her units were formidable, their ranged combat abilities came with severe inherent limitations.
The Frost Ice Spirit's destructive power increased dramatically as the surrounding temperature plummeted, while Ice Moon Spirit specialized in creating precisely those conditions. As a rare domain-type Supernatural creature, the Ice Moon Spirit could transform an entire section of the battlefield into a frozen realm of eternal ice and snow, allowing the Frost Ice Spirit's attacks to reach their maximum destructive potential.
By now, nearly everyone understood this synergy. The only drawback was equally well known: the domain created made no distinction between friend and foe. Once activated, the temperature across the entire battlefield would plunge, affecting allies and enemies alike without exception.
Everyone instinctively turned toward Sebastian. As the Captain, he had the highest command on the battlefield, and a decision of this magnitude could only be made by him.
"Iris, what do you propose?" Sebastian asked as he looked toward Iris. As the creator of both species, she innately understood the strengths and weaknesses of the two species better than anyone else.
"We can give it a try." Iris gave a slight nod before replying calmly, "After advancing to Level 3, both of my species have grown significantly stronger. At the very least, they're far more powerful than they were during the competition."
Hearing Iris's confident response, everyone nearby breathed a quiet sigh of relief as they knew her personality well. She never spoke recklessly, and if she expressed such confidence, then she undoubtedly had a reasonable chance of succeeding.
"Good." Sebastian nodded decisively. "In that case, let them work together and launch a coordinated long-range strike."
Executing such a complex maneuver required countless precise commands, so naturally the task had to be entrusted to Iris herself.
Without hesitation, she stepped forward and shouted, "Display your courage and your strength! Unleash your full power and deliver the enemy a fatal blow!"
The moment her voice echoed across the battlefield, the two races positioned behind the Wine Pandas, Bear Warriors, and Golden Dragons immediately sprang into action.
Ice Moon Spirit moved first, and its domain ability erupted without warning. In barely a single second, an overwhelming wave of frost spread across the battlefield, and the surrounding temperature began falling at a frightening rate.
The Abyss Demons immediately sensed the unusual change, so their expressions became noticeably more cautious as countless pairs of crimson eyes turned toward the small, adorable-looking creature floating quietly in the distance. Second after second, the temperature continued to fall, becoming increasingly unbearable.
Meanwhile, the formations of the Wine Pandas, Bear Warriors, and Golden Dragons tightened even further. They gathered shoulder to shoulder, nearly embracing one another, preparing themselves to endure the terrifying cold that was rapidly approaching.
The physical constitution of the Abyss Demons was extraordinarily robust. Ordinary freezing temperatures posed little threat to them; only truly extreme cold could seriously hinder their combat abilities. Compared with the Wine Pandas and Bear Warriors, however, the Demons possessed one notable weakness.
Unlike the woolly bodies of the Wine Pandas and Bear Warriors, the Demons had physiques much closer to those of humans. Although their skin was considerably tougher and their flesh far denser, allowing them to endure harsh cold to a certain degree, they still lacked the natural insulation provided by thick fur.
Even so, this disadvantage was insignificant when compared with the Wine Pandas and Bear Warriors, both of whom were naturally adapted to freezing climates.
As for the Golden Dragons, there was even less to worry about. The dragon blood coursing through their veins rendered them virtually immune to frost and snow. In many respects, Golden Dragons were among the most environmentally adaptable creatures in existence, remaining perfectly comfortable regardless of the battlefield's climate.
The Demons' greatest strength had always been their overwhelming offensive power. That overwhelming aggression was the defining characteristic separating Demons from every other creature and the very reason they inspired such fear throughout the cosmos. But remove that unparalleled offensive talent, and the Demons would become far less terrifying opponents.
Were Demons vulnerable to extreme cold? The answer was unquestionably yes. Aside from a handful of uniquely constituted species, such as the Golden Dragon, nearly every creature feared freezing temperatures to some extent. The only difference was how much cold each species could endure before their combat effectiveness began to decline.
Realizing something was wrong, the Demons immediately abandoned their relentless offensive and cautiously held their positions, watching every movement of Iris and the Frost Ice Spirits.
Because they had failed to anticipate this gradual yet relentless drop in temperature, they had unknowingly given Iris all the time she needed to unleash the full potential of its domain.
"A cryogenic offensive?" Eric's voice echoed across the battlefield, then his lips curled into a mocking smile as he continued, "So this is the strategy you've come up with?"
"And what's wrong with it?" Kanna replied coldly.
"The falling temperature certainly affects our units," Eric admitted with an amused grin. "But the effect is insignificant unless the cold reaches truly extreme levels. Do you honestly believe a mere Level 3 creature can produce that kind of temperature? During that great war, do you think your ancestors never considered using the exact same tactic?"
He paused deliberately before bursting into loud, contemptuous laughter. "What difference did it make? None at all. Hahaha! You're all so naïve."
His laughter rang across the battlefield, filled with open ridicule, as though he were mocking a group of self-proclaimed geniuses who had just reinvented a strategy that had long since failed.
Everyone frowned, yet not a single person attempted to argue with him. They all understood that the frozen domain was merely the opening act, as the true killing blow had yet to come.
Once the battlefield had been completely engulfed in freezing cold, the Frost Ice Spirit would unleash its devastating Frost Storm, a catastrophic attack that represented the real crux of their strategy.
