Valeridge Residence
As Sydney Sawyer was about to arrive, she called Sylvie Lockwood. Sylvie had also gone to a business cocktail party tonight and probably wouldn't be back until late.
"Your aunt isn't home?" Andrea Wyatt asked, having already parked the car as she'd directed.
"She's still out socializing."
"There are still a few boxes of fruit in the trunk. I'll help you carry them upstairs."
"I can carry them myself." Even though they had a brother-sister dynamic, Sydney Sawyer kept her distance. 'I don't want to get too close to this fool. I'll let him enjoy a few more days of blissful ignorance,' she thought.
"You probably can't manage on your own."
When Andrea Wyatt opened the trunk, Sydney Sawyer realized that he was right—she really couldn't.
Two boxes of kiwis, two boxes of Autumn Moon pears, and several boxes of mooncakes filled the trunk.
'This fatherly love...'
'...is a little heavy.'
She would have to make three or four trips to carry it all by herself.
