Inside the bridal shop
After receiving Sylvie Lockwood's call, Sydney Sawyer mulled it over and decided to give Ryder Sharp a call.
Ryder Sharp was still at the Huxley family's home. His father had used work as an excuse to leave early, but Old Mrs. Huxley had grabbed his hand and insisted he stay for dinner.
The old matriarch had always treated him well. When she brought up his mother, her eyes reddened again, so Ryder Sharp didn't have the heart to keep refusing.
They did, however, agree that in a few days, the Huxley family would send someone to the Sharp family's home to retrieve some of Ryder Sharp's mother's old belongings. With a new woman in the house, it wasn't appropriate to keep some things around, and Old Mrs. Huxley also wanted to keep some mementos for herself.
"Ryder, you can stay and keep your grandmother company. I'm heading out," Ronald Sharp said bluntly.
Ryder Sharp: "?!"
He had been abandoned by his father just like that.
