The thrum of a heartbeat reached her ears.
It was enough to make the blood rush and surge through her entire body.
"Like this…"
"Can you feel it?"
Ryder Sharp pulled back slightly, but his gaze remained locked on her.
His voice was hoarse, yet restrained.
Inches apart, Sylvie Lockwood could clearly feel the warmth of his breath, feather-light one moment and heavy the next, ghosting across her face.
It seared every inch of her skin.
And it tugged at her every heartbeat.
From a body on fire to a fluttering heart, every powerful beat felt so heavy and forceful it seemed ready to shatter her ribs.
"And you still can't feel it?"
The moment Ryder Sharp finished his last word…
Sylvie Lockwood suddenly reached out and grabbed the tie hanging in front of him. Caught off guard, he was pulled down, and the distance between them instantly became infinitesimal.
Their breaths mingled,
indistinguishable.
