Sydney Sawyer wasn't happy to hear that.
"When I told you about Sebastian, you praised Mr. Lockwood so highly. Now you're saying you have a communication barrier?"
Lauren Brooks was multitasking frantically. While tapping her phone to accept a friend request, she was also searching for a demure, ladylike sticker to send him as a greeting, all while gnawing on a duck leg and chatting with Sydney Sawyer.
"Your situation with Mr. Lockwood is different. You two are in love, and love can bridge any gap. Your case doesn't apply to mine."
"Besides my parents, relatives, teachers, or supervisors, he's probably the oldest male friend I have."
"Doesn't your Mr. Lockwood have any friends my age?"
Sydney rested her chin on her hand. "There's one who's a year older than me."
"Introduce me."
"His personality is like my little brother's."
"Never mind."
...
Sydney felt that Lauren Brooks and Yancy Hale together would be a complete disaster. The thought alone gave her a headache.
