Sydney Sawyer was being tortured by Casey Huxley's rendition of "Conquer" and was on the verge of a breakdown. Just then, Sebastian Lockwood texted to say he was off work and had arrived at the club, so she used the excuse of going to the bathroom to make her escape.
Only Chester Sawyer and Casey Huxley were left in the private room.
After the song ended, Casey Huxley frowned. "Was my singing bad?"
"It was... alright."
Chester Sawyer really wanted to say, 'It was absolutely terrible!'
'Do you have no self-awareness about your own singing?'
"Do you think there's room for improvement?"
Casey Huxley knew he sounded bad and looked apologetic.
He had such an innocent, harmless-looking baby face. When Chester Sawyer saw his pitiful expression, he swallowed the teasing remarks that were already on the tip of his tongue.
He patted his shoulder. "Singing really does take talent. Some people are just naturally tone-deaf. You just can't control the high notes. It's still salvageable."
