On the night of the Qixi Festival, the streets were bustling with people, and every restaurant was packed to the brim.
Sebastian Lockwood hadn't eaten dinner yet. After searching for a long time, the two finally found an empty table at a private kitchen restaurant. It was only available because a customer with a reservation had just canceled at the last minute.
"I already had a bite to eat at the clubhouse, so I'm not that hungry. You go ahead and order."
Sydney Sawyer handed the menu to Sebastian Lockwood.
"Am I eating alone?"
"I can eat a little with you, but I probably can't eat much."
Sebastian Lockwood nodded, looking down at the menu, but he was watching Sydney Sawyer from the corner of his eye.
She seemed a little distracted tonight.
She was rarely like this when she was with him.
Sydney Sawyer's fingertips traced the rim of her water glass. She rested her cheek on one hand, lost in thought, a troubled expression on her face.
