Sydney Sawyer figured that with someone she knew nearby, Sylvie Lockwood might feel awkward on her blind date. So, she deliberately chose a more secluded spot and asked the waiter not to mention she was there. After all, she was eating with Ryder Sharp, so the meal would be short, and they'd likely be leaving soon.
"I understand. Why don't you two take a look at the menu first," the waiter said, ever so tactful.
"How did you know she was on a blind date?" Ryder Sharp asked.
The restaurant wasn't crowded, and their table had a clear view of the window where Sylvie Lockwood was seated.
"I heard Lockwood mention it this morning, so I just guessed." Sydney Sawyer handed the menu to Ryder Sharp. "You probably come here often, so you know what's good. Why don't you order?"
Though Ryder Sharp was a man of few words, he was very thoughtful. He avoided raw and cold dishes, ordering almost entirely with Sydney Sawyer in mind.
