"You sure this is a good idea?"
It looked as if most of Oceanside came to the beach today, beach umbrellas and towels covering the sand. Not that I blamed them. It's the perfect weather for it.
It was a surprise when Bailey said we weren't doing any tests today and how it's too nice to be inside. I wasn't expecting her to suggest a drive to the beach.
Just the four of us. Me, her, Penelope, and Ivan.
"It's a public place and there's so many people we'll be fine," Bailey looked different in her shorts and tank top. Nothing like the doctor from earlier. "There's a quiet spot over there."
"What about my heat?" I hadn't been around so many people since yesterday in the clinic parking lot. "What if I… trigger everyone?"
"You won't. The suppressant is working, and you've got the daily dose. Besides, you would've affected everyone in the territory before we got here if it wasn't working and I wouldn't have suggested coming."
