Arman slipped both hands into his pockets, a faint scoff escaping under his breath.
"Tell me, Mr. Ryley," he said. "Have you ever heard the story of Icarus?"
"I have." Ryley nodded. "...Why?"
"When I was painting this piece," Arman began, turning his gaze back to the tunnel, "I couldn't decide what either of them should look like."
He fell quiet for a moment.
"Then I found myself thinking about Icarus."
His eyes lingered on the dark-haired figure standing in the middle of the tunnel.
"And a question occurred to me..."
He paused.
"If the sun that burned Icarus were to take human form..." His voice was almost thoughtful. "...What would it look like?"
Ryley's eyes widened.
For a second, he simply stared at the painting.
Then, before he could stop himself, the words slipped out.
"...Do you think Icarus could kill the sun?"
One of Arman's brows lifted.
"Interesting."
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
