Ryley simply nodded, unaware of the sudden tension beside him.
"Maybe I'm only disappointed," he admitted. "I wanted to make a good memory there—with you and the children. In Berlin."
A faint regret crossed his face.
"I even thought of taking Rosie and Ryder to your old historic apartment… maybe staying there for a while, and yet…"
His voice trailed off before he could finish.
Clyde reached for his hand at once, holding it gently, his thumb rubbing across Ryley's skin in a slow, reassuring motion.
"We'll make it up later in Arizona, alright?" he said, keeping his tone warm and steady.
Ryley looked at him for a moment, then nodded, a quiet understanding smile finally returning to his face.
