"There's a kind of cold, called 'your mom thinks you're cold.'
"Julian, what do you mean by that? Are you trying to pick a fight with me?"
She had just set a goal for herself to not cause trouble for the kids in the future, and here he was, deliberately finding something to nitpick about.
Julian looked at her serious expression and smiled, "Just kidding."
"Don't joke with me like that," Scarlett replied, "What if I took it seriously, hmph."
"Alright, I know, let's sleep. I'll go to the hospital early tomorrow to see mom."
Scarlett leaned against Julian's chest, closed her eyes, and inhaled the comforting scent from him as she fell asleep. After a while, Julian said, "Wife."
"What?"
"You're not angry, are you?" There was a hint of worry in Julian's tone.
Scarlett opened her eyes and glanced at him, "What would I be angry about?"
"I thought you might be upset, thinking that my mom doesn't consider you as family."
