Marcus Knight realized it was his fault, "You don't hate me?"
"No." Joy Shaw replied.
"When we met while you were pregnant, you didn't speak to me."
"I was angry, not reaching out to you, so you didn't contact me either. I was mad at you for being a jerk who slept with me but didn't take responsibility. I didn't want to deal with you."
"..."
Marcus Knight hadn't expected this to be the case.
He held her and admitted his mistake, "I'm sorry."
"Was it because of that, plus mistakenly thinking I liked Paul Reynolds, that when you saw me later, you kept our relationship a secret for so long?" Joy speculated.
Joy sighed and complained, "If only you had said a few more heartfelt words, things wouldn't have been so awkward between us back then."
But Marcus Knight was like this—cool by nature and not good at expressing genuine emotions.
She had known this for a long time.
Marcus Knight apologized unconditionally, "I'm sorry."
