The faint smell of antiseptic lingered around Joy Shaw as Maverick Knight breathed in.
Joy Shaw hugged him tighter, her voice hoarse and unusual as she had just woken up, "Sorry to keep you waiting."
In high school, she was unsure. If she studied abroad, would Maverick wait for her? Without her by his side, countless exceptional girls would surely appear around him.
She feared being replaced.
Now, if she hadn't met him over a year ago in Yvalon, would he have kept waiting?
Knowing that she couldn't remember, why was he so foolish?
Maverick hugged her back. Now his mind was a blur. With Joy awake, his obsession faded, his anxious heart settled, and an overwhelming exhaustion surged over him.
As to whether her memory was fully restored, he cared little. Even if she might still be unwilling to marry him.
Maverick's voice was low, "Joy, I won't let go, even if you will hate me..."
Then, Joy felt a sudden weight, and the man's strength almost completely pressed down on her.
