Third-person POV
The reactions at the two roasting by the MPC leaders in the Tokyo summit hall was mixed and hilarious across viewpoints. In the US, the Congress felt as if they wanted to cancel their session today's session. A handful of ultra nationalist American Baptists took this to the pulpits and condemned the MPC nations for "sabotaging God's chosen nation" and some extreme pastors branded the MPC leaders as demons of progressive politics. The reactions in Beijing and Moscow did not reach the international media. Many multinational corporations like Ford are having metaphorical and collective seizures at Leo's roasting of American suburban neighborhood culture and way of life, so much so that rumors circulated that the investors in the Dow Jones stock market fainted when they watched the Tokyo Summit on live TV.
But, the reactions are way better with the MPC agents in the Special Region and everyone in the MPC nations across the gate, almost like a festival. The roasting went viral, and it is said that the advisors in the MPC national presidential residences were doubling over while putting the PDF files of the first two contingency plans into secured files. The MPC agents, both in Dane Woods while cooking lunch and in Alnus Base with the JSDF, were doubling over at this, sharing the videos with everyone they knew (family, friends, colleagues, etc) back in their home countries across the gate.
In the Philippine Senate in the Philippines, Tolentino was laughing his ass off on what Leo and the other MPC leaders said to the envoys from the Big Three while taking a 10-minute break from his morning nightmarish paperwork. "Sir, are you okay po?" his secretary asked in concern.
"Ah, opo, ma'am." Tolentino wiped a tear from his eye before fixing his position on his seat and resuming playing the live summit on YouTube. "Clever nga talaga si Presidente Leo Santos, eh. 30 years old lang siya, pero clever parang bata!"
And then, a telephone rang, and the call came from the US embassy, who was demanding answers on both the Philippines' involvement in the Hakaze Inn Incident and the fallout that happened after that on the Big Three.
But, acting on his protocols that he and the senators and congress members had done since the Hakaze Inn Incident had happened, Tolentino turned off the call and made it a voicemail so he would type it out and send it to the Philippine cabinet later.
Even the EFCA in the US, though neutral, approved Boaz's bold statement. They had long considered Christian nationalism as a sin and a heresy, and the American mainline Protestant churches, from the UMC to the PCUSA, agreed to that, and internet rumors circulated of a non-theological dialogue with the Seven Sisters of Protestantism and the EFCA.
Back in the Tokyo summit hall, the third American envoy got up and lashed at Leo, Paraskevas, and others in the MPC side. "You humiliated us! Ford would lose half a billion dollars in the Philippines by next month if you ban their cars! Are you that serious about ruining our hegemony over Japan and its existence?!"
He also glared at the sunglasses-wearing Santiago. "You there, Spanish prime minister, did you just smirked at us at Tokyo Haneda yesterday afternoon?!"
Unfazed, Santiago Martinez replied with a soft smirk. "Sí, that was me, with barely any guards at all, and the same was true for the other 6 of my MPC leader-buddies here."
"And what was this contingency plan to smuggle the Japanese to your native soils and build some sort of diaspora network?" one Chinese envoy hissed at Leo, Paraskevas, and Paulo. "You damn preservationists who preferred small-time culture over profit and progress that made people's lives better!"
"Purely hypocritical…" Paul retorted as the aura of his late grandfather Suharto kicked in.
"Profit and progress make people's lives better?" Leo added. "Or you mean you make them even more destitute than before?"
"The prosperity is probably for half of the people of a country," Paraskevas reasoned, "including the upper middle class and the spoiled elites."
The 'spoiled elites' part roasted the delegation of the three superpowers badly as if the MPC nations are judging these people like the ICC.
Boaz stood up and said to these envoys, "Stop being hypocritical when you assume that resource extraction of the Special Region would make people's lives better when it is only gonna be funneled to your spoiled elites!"
"You low-key communist!" a fourth American envoy shrieked at Boaz. "Are you wearing that vestment when you claimed to be a Baptist? You're larping as a Lutheran or an Episcopalian, aren't you? Plus, you insulted the American Baptists, God's chosen nation!"
"Um, I am not larping, I am wearing these as a coping mechanism," Boaz deadpanned, "because my family and I were former members of the INC, or the Iglesia Ni Cristo. I suffered trauma more than the JSDF in their first battle in the Alnus Hill in the Special Region. Even my family and Baclaran EFCA congregation said that this style is my personal choice for myself. Heck, I even wore this on certain Sundays but not every Sunday. Besides, if God comforted me through His Word and sometimes through things like my vestment, then I was convicted by it."
"Yeah!" Ferdinand added strongly while standing up as someone who studied history critically. "And plus, your "America-is-God's-chosen-nation" narrative does not justify breaking into a traditional Japanese inn and shutting down the Japanese grid for three minutes. I think you guys are like the medieval churches in Europe when they persecute the Waldensians, Lollards, Jews, and Hussites!"
Silence and shock filled the room for a full 5 seconds.
Boaz and Fedinand sat down, while Santiago and Leopoldo snickered at the humiliation of the fourth American envoy. Leo nodded in approval for his Baptist friend. Juan did the Aglipayan/Roman Catholic way of sign of the cross for the Triad Power envoys' health (physical and mental), and Aias did the same in the Eastern Orthodox fashion.
Aias even uttered a silent prayer in English, "Lord, forgive these men, for they don't know what they are doing."
Itami, Hazama, and Kuribayashi were in awe of Boaz's background and trauma. Rory, meanwhile, was fascinated at cults whose psychological tactics to control their members made her death cult more like a neighborhood book club. "Isagani-san's trauma made our flashbacks at the Alnus Hill more manageable than being in a cult," Itami commented.
Kuribayashi, meanwhile, was searching up the definition of larping in her phone. "Larping is an act of live action roleplay. Isagani-san was not larping, but he was just being himself."
