Giddy. Ecstatic. Manic.
Those were but a few of the many words one could use to describe his feelings right now. As he stared at the moon and bathed in its light for the first time in a thousand years, Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, roared out to the world, announcing his return.
"Marvelous! It'll be a massacre!" His declaration was followed by another round of uproarious laughter.
Finally, finally he was free.
Free to hunt. To fight. To slaughter. To live as befit his nature.
'Ah, where to start?' The high of incarnating into this new era was starting to fade, transitioning into a darker curiosity. 'So many choices. Food? I'm quite interested to see what passes for cuisine in these times. Or do I go looking for a woman? Haven't partaken in that particular indulgence for a while, to say the least' he chuckled.
'Or maybe…' trailing off, Sukuna turned to glance at the cowering boy behind him on his right.
A sorcerer.
Weak. Scared. Pathetic.
But entertainment all the same.
A sly grin crept onto his face as he came to a decision.
'You'll do.'
He approached the insect and savored how it stumbled back a few paces in order to create a sense of safety through distance. As though it would accomplish anything. As though his fate wasn't sealed the moment he, Ryomen Sukuna, chose the boy as a means of sampling this age of sorcery.
Futile
"Rejoice, human" he began, continuing his leisurely stroll, hands in his pockets. The boy assumed a stance in response, cursed energy flaring.
Always futile
"For you have been chosen to–"
[CHAOS GACHA ONLINE!]
…'Huh?' He stopped advancing. There was a floating…image, in front of his face. He frowned, irritated at the disturbance. 'What is–'

His frown deepened. 'Some kind of illusionary technique?' Sukuna pondered to himself. Yet he felt no intrusion of foreign cursed energy into his system. 'What just–'
Grasp!
He blinked. The sorcerer blinked. There was a hand, his vessel's hand, grabbing his jaw and holding him in place.
"Oi, what do you think you're doing with my body?" A new voice came from his throat. Their throat. Young and curious and far too calm for the current situation. It was almost puzzling. "Give it back!" the brat demanded.
"How are you able to move?" What was happening? How could some lowly human stop him? It shouldn't have been possible, and yet—"um…it is my body, you know? Why wouldn't I be able to move?" That was the boys response. As though it were so simple. As though what he had done, was doing, was nothing unusual.
It was infuriating. Right as Sukuna was about to retort, however…
BADUMP!
"He's suppressing me…?!" And just like that, the King of Curses found himself confined to his innate domain once more. Not by his own hand, but by the hands of some mundane child as he was beginning to understand, quickly searching through the brat's memories for some measure of knowledge. Anything to answer the impossibility that had just occurred. But there was nothing. Just the memories of a normal human boy looked after by his equally ordinary grandfather.
"How can this be?" he muttered, incensed at his situation. 'How can some no-name child that's never even heard of jujutsu suppress me so effortlessly? So completely? It doesn't make sense!' He'd tried to assume control once more to no effect. It was as though there was a barrier between him and the brat that wouldn't budge. No matter how hard he pushed for control, to breathe fresh air once more, nothing changed.
And so he remained, angry, steaming at his new reign being cut short so quickly until–

"Strange. What exactly do you mean by–" Just as he was about to question this…chaos gacha, Sukuna found himself outside once more. He blinked a few times, startled by the rapid turn of events. "I'm back?" He quickly regained his bearings. "Heh, that was quick. Guess the brat couldn't quite handle–"
"!!!"
Power.
Unquestioned. Raw. Overwhelming.
There was a new sorcerer in the vicinity, and this one was no slouch it seemed. 'Hmph, about time. Here I was worried there were nothing but weaklings in this era, but it looks like I was wrong'. He focused on the tall white haired sorcerer responsible for the powerful presence and lunged at him, a wild grin upon his face.
'Let's see what you're made of!'
He lost.
Badly.
He, Ryomen Sukuna, the strongest sorcerer of the greatest era, had been made a fool of.
How much of his power he'd regained at the moment was irrelevant, an excuse befitting a coward. The fact remained he hadn't come out on top. The worst part was that it wasn't in some grand battle. He hadn't fallen in a war against incredible foes uniting to stand against him like the days of old.
No, he was beat down by one man. A single sorcerer had thoroughly dismantled him as though he were a child. Effortlessly, like he was nothing. The audacity, the sheer gall to sit on his back…
The humiliation burned fiercer than any wound he'd ever received, completely overshadowing whatever excitement he felt at having so quickly found someone interesting. "Mark my words sorcerer," he swore to himself, fists clenched so hard blood started to drip onto the collection of human and bovine skulls laying beneath him. "I will pay you back ten fold for the humiliation you've put me through. Only once I've crushed your confidence, shattered your spirit, and consumed your remains will our debt be cleared. And as for you…" he paused, focusing once more on the irritating screen that had appeared in front of him.

"What do you mean by roll? Before that, what is this chaos gacha you speak of?" Ignoring the shattered bone beneath his right fist, Sukuna pushed to learn more. A brief look through the brat's memories had informed him of what the term "gacha" meant. A system typically implemented in "video games" by money grubbing humans to capitalize on the desperation and addiction of their fellow man. The customer pays money and in return, are given a random chance to receive a variety of items.
He had a feeling this situation was different.
[The Chaos Gacha is a system that bestows powers, items, familiars, and more from the multiverse upon those selected to use it]
[This is done through the user performing feats, which in turn earns them tickets]
[Tickets are rolled for a random chance at ultimate power!]
[WOULD YOU LIKE TO ROLL?]
'Fascinating.' The multiverse, a concept he'd never even dreamed of during his life, was something he apparently now had access too. This system, if its words were to be believed, was opening up new ways for him to ascend past his previous limitations. Something he'd feared impossible to accomplish after reaching the pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery a millennium ago.
Years spent honing his craft and pushing his gifted body to the breaking point relentlessly had ended with him emerging as an unstoppable force. He'd slaughtered every powerful being he came across until there were none brave or foolish enough left to face him. But now…
"Hehehehehhe…HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! To think! Something so magnificent was never even meant to go to me in the first place! Truly, this is quite the trade off for being trapped within you, brat, so why don't we call it even?" He grinned, utterly captivated.
Ultimate power awaited. All he had to do was grab it.
His grin widened.
"Very well then! Roll!"

To be continued…
AN: Done! Phew, I made it to the end. My respect for authors went up while writing this. Felt like I wrote a ton but it wasn't even 2k words. How some make 5k+ weekly chapters, I'll never know.
As for why I chose Sukuna to receive the gacha, there's a few reasons. We've seen OC's, OCSI's, and even MC's from popular series use it, but I'm not sure we've seen a main antagonist do so. Almost 100% sure there's no Sukuna specific ones either so I'm hyped to be the first person to try it out. If I actually am that is. Not only is he one of the most chaotic characters in JJK, but what do you all think he'll do when he finally understands how he can farm tickets through feats? He was already a monstrous person before and that was just for the love of the game, but when he learns what qualifies as feats and how broad the term is?
Yea, let's just say shits gonna hit the fan. The tags are there for a reason. Sukuna was already the strongest character in the series without the gacha. With it? I'll have to focus more on what kind of fuckery he'll be getting up too to earn tickets and how that will cause canon divergence.
Please let me know what you think in the reviews below! Hoping to post once every week or two. Started Shibuya in my draft doc so I've got at least something of a backlog.Last edited: Feb 12, 2026 Like ReplyReport Reactions:edw0016, kralmeco, zellat451 and 472 othersJohnDoesFeb 10, 2026Add bookmarkView discussionThreadmarks Ch 2: Consequences and Payoffs View contentJohnDoesJoker John is peak JohnFeb 12, 2026Add bookmark#21Disclaimer: I do not own jujutsu kaisen. [Possessing Spirit]
Rare Skill
Kengan Ashura - Otherwise referred to as "Advance" allows one to speed up their heartbeat and blood flow to massively increase their performance, but can cause difficulty in controlling one's Bloodlust, which can be trained. First Gear increases one's physical performance and makes it harder to control themselves. Second Gear further increases physical performance, but induces bloodlust in the user and lowers their self-control. Third Gear increases their heartbeat and blood flow to inhuman levels, making one appear to be almost possessed by a demon, massively amplifying their physical performance and their bloodlust while suppressing their sense of pain, but it is likely to cause permanent damage without intervention. The drawbacks of this technique are that it can damage the user's heart, veins, and other organs due to the immense strain placed on them and the inhuman blood flow.
[Very Hot Soup]
Rare Item
A pot full of incredibly hot and spicy soup, consuming the entire pot of soup will cover their body in [(Rare)Cursed Flames], [(Elite)Blood Flames], [(Elite)Holy Flames], and [(Elite)Godslayer Apostle Flames].
[Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring]
Rare Item
Dark Souls - A special ring granted to only the most accomplished sorcerers at the Vinheim Dragon School. The ring is engraved with an everlasting dragon and boosts the strength of magic cast by its wearer.
Information instantly assaulted his mind. Knowledge on how to push his body into a whole new state of being. It wasn't on the same level as his reinforcement, not really, but if he were to combine them…
'Well, I guess that confirms it' he thought, analyzing the new skill he'd just had imported into his brain. The dangers would be worrying for anyone not named Ryomen Sukuna. As he was, even in his reduced state, a simple application of reverse cursed technique would heal any damage caused by the use of possessing spirit. Increased bloodlust was a trivial matter for one such as him.
Finished with the skill for the moment, he turned his attention to the ring that had appeared in his right hand. From its description, he assumed it would boost the output of his attacks like cleave, dismantle, and furnace, leading to them dealing more damage. Whether that applied to his domain expansion would be something he'd have to test under more ideal circumstances. He slid it onto his right middle finger and got to work gauging its effect.
Spoiler: Ring
A quick series of tests confirmed his suspicions. The bellowing dragoncrest ring increased the strength of his "spells" by what he felt was a good 20%. Curiously enough, that boost did not apply to cursed energy reinforcement. 'Likely because it's more of a physical technique rather than a "magical" one,' he mused.
Leaving the pot of soup to rest at the base of his skull pile for later, Sukuna rolled his final bronze ticket.
[Drunk Driver]
Trash Trait
"It's the drunk crashers that give drunk drivers a bad name." The more inebriated you are, the more skilled you are at driving and operating vehicles.
"Tch, so they're not all useful then. Annoying, but not unexpected." Now that he confirmed the gacha was real, his desire to know more grew. What counted as feats? Why did some feats grant specific types of tickets and not others? What were the categories of tickets he could earn? He needed more information on how this system worked and luckily for him, he had all the time in the world stuck inside this brat to study this thing inside and out.
'Let's begin.'
Suffice to say, his impromptu study session had been…informative, to say the least. He found that breaking things down into jujutsu terms worked best in order for him to quickly gain familiarity and build synergy between the gacha and his own knowledge.
Abilities effectively functioned like cursed techniques. They were powered by cursed energy and he could only have one equipped at a time to start. Eventually, he would unlock an additional slot every 5 abilities acquired.
Traits were one's own innate physical gifts. Unlike abilities, there was no limit to the number of traits he could have active at one time. He had the option to reroll any undesired race change traits,—and wasn't that interesting?—but it was entirely up to him.
Items were like cursed tools, familiars like shikigami, and skills were just as their name suggested. Any item or familiar he received would automatically be deposited into his innate domain, ready to be summoned by him at a moment's notice. A simple thought would be enough to send them back.
What he could obtain from the gacha was intriguing on its own, but how he would get the tickets in the first place was a whole separate issue. Battles, performances, conquests, and more all fell under the category of feats. Even sexual encounters could net tickets depending on the circumstances, something the system was rather…eager, to inform him of.
That aside, he ran into a few problems quickly. It wasn't just that he was stuck within the brat, unable to do much of anything. That was a given.
It was something much simpler.
He was too strong.
That was the truth of the matter. The same way a human stepping on an ant was unremarkable, him cutting down even special grade sorcerers would net nothing more than a gold, maybe platinum, ticket at best with how vastly he outclassed them even before he got the gacha. With it, unless he were to heavily restrict himself through the use of binding vows, fights would never be an option to earning high ranking tickets. It would seem he'd have to get creative in order to procure more valuable rolls, but that was for later. For now, he chose to focus on the only method currently available to him to gain tickets.
Curses
[Curses are status effects and/or changes placed upon the user or their world in exchange for tickets.]
[Curses are rolled three at a time. The more severe a curse, the rarer the ticket received]
[WOULD YOU LIKE TO ROLL?]
'Honestly, does this thing not know who I am?' How amusing. Offering power in exchange for curses, to the King of Curses of all people, was laughable.
He rolled, for there was no change he feared. No curse he believed he could not overcome with his own power. He was Ryomen Sukuna, The Undefeated One, what was a little risk to someone like him? Besides, he had a few plans.
[Yandere]
Severity 8
There is a yandere out there yearning for your love, and she won't take no for an answer, and she will not be very willing to listen to reason.

Resolve: Eat 10 meals from someone with Expert Cooking or above. Or consume 3 or more common rank or higher food items.

Not. At. All.
[Disease]
Severity 19
You have the fabled anime death disease that keeps killing all of those overpowered characters, causing you to be weaker and reducing your energy levels. Over time, this disease will keep getting worse and worse until you can find some way to treat it. You probably don't even have a full year

Burning pain shot through his chest as he erupted into a fit of coughing. Weakness, a concept he never knew, assaulted his being in a way that was completely alien to him. He'd never once been sick in his life. Whether that was due to his uniquely gifted body or his overwhelming cursed energy was irrelevant. The fact remained he'd never had to deal with an illness before. Never felt its effects.
Until now.
It was crippling. He felt sluggish, tired. His breathing, which he was just now starting to get under control, was forced to remain shallow lest he start another round of coughing. His cursed energy levels had dropped as well. A quick diagnosis revealed the deduction to be approximately 30% of his overall reserves. He ran RCT through his body and relaxed slightly as his breathing evened out. The disease remained and he still felt weak, but it had eased up enough for his breathing to no longer be as much of an issue. 'For now,' he reminded himself. What would he look like in a few weeks? A few months?
The cost was staggering. 50% of his available cursed energy, gone just like that. Used up between the curse and having to constantly maintain RCT to mitigate his symptoms. Possessing spirit was likely no longer an option for him to use either with how feeble he had become. To think it would get worse the longer it went untreated…
"These damn tickets better be worth it," he grumbled to himself, straightneing up. He got what he needed so it would be best to stay away from the curses for now. Not only was his arsenal limited until he cured this blasted disease, but it also prevented him from fixing his dead tongue until he secured another finger at least. He needed more cursed energy before he tried something like that and what he had at the moment was no longer enough.
He would cure himself eventually. That was inevitable. The fact that RCT even worked on the illness in the first place was all the evidence he needed. Regardless of its effects, the disease was, fundamentally, a curse. One stronger than any he'd ever experienced, but a curse all the same. Judging by its intensity, he estimated that he'd need at least 10 fingers in order to fully purge it.
'No matter. Now that this brat's shown the ability to contain me, he's become far too valuable for those sorcerers to simply get rid of,' he thought, toying with the ring on his finger. 'No doubt they'll feed him all my fingers before attempting to execute him, bringing me down as well. I merely need to wait for the right moment to strike.'
Moving away from any future planning for the moment, Sukuna focused on the tickets he'd received. "Let's see what these amount to. For the platinum choice ticket, I select the ability category. Roll them all."

[Slow Down]
Epic Ability
Allows you to slow down time with the exception of yourself, the more energy you expend, the slower you can make time go.
The sword was the superior option for the first ticket. His defense and recovery were already peerless. Not only did the blade pair incredibly well with the warranty trait, but he was currently lacking in terms of weaponry with kamutoke and hiten likely lost to the passage of time. The ring would serve to strengthen his techniques while the sword would bolster and diversify his martial and close quarters prowess. A perfect combination.
The moment he read the ability, however, all four of his eyes widened. He laughed.
"HAHAHA–ACK! *COUGH *COUGH *COUGH. Urgh, damn. H-how ridiculous." A smile refused to leave his face despite the pain his laughter had brought. The power to slow down time alone was formidable, he'd never heard of anyone having such an ability. Combined with his physicality and lethal cursed technique? Even Gojo Satoru, what little he'd seen of the nuisance, would be rendered as helpless as Sukuna himself had been during their first exchange.
Satisfied his gamble had paid off, Sukuna selected the moonlight sword and equipped slow down to his ability slot. The blade that appeared in his hands was unlike any he'd ever seen.
Spoiler: Sword
The long handle indicated that it was meant to be wielded with two hands, while the blade itself was even larger. Wide and long, the sword had a dark gray coloration at its base that transitioned to a blue at its midpoint, and ended with the tip being cyan.
Eager to test both the weapon and his new ability, Sukuna leapt off his seat and landed dozens of meters out into his domain.
It was time to train.
The holy moonlight sword was, without a doubt, the most versatile weapon he'd ever utilized. Potentially the most powerful once he recovered more of his fingers. Kamutoke's lightning was potent, able to wipe out multiple sorcerers with a wave of his hand, while Hiten's air manipulation could do a lot. Flight, gusts of wind strong enough to tear down buildings, even small scale tornadoes were not beyond him. There was more than one reason he was labeled a natural disaster after all.
'But this blade is different,' he hummed appreciatively, running a finger along its flat. He was exhausted. The disease's consequences were more apparent than ever with him having tested both the holy moonlight sword and slow down's limits, but the results more than made up for it. 'Well, at least for one of them that is'.
The sword's innate abilities were strong enough to warrant it a special grade title without question. Capable of releasing shockwave-like bursts of energy with each strike to blow back swarming opponents, while also being able to fire increasingly powerful waves of energy to erase foes from a distance with a single swing. It covered both close and long range combat in case his technique was ever burnt out.
Speaking of his cursed technique, it was once he channeled Shrine through the blade that the holy moonlight sword truly started to separate itself from any weapon he'd ever used or seen. Dismantle gave the sword's edge extra cutting power, while also enhancing any energy wave he emitted from it to be sharper and stronger than a baseline dismantle itself. He tested cleave by placing the edge of the blade upon one of the many skulls within his domain, and watched as it was turned to dust upon activation. Furnace covered the sword in his divine flame, making any contact with it ill advised. It even added a fiery attribute to the energy he could release from the weapon, both as a shockwave and a blast, that surpassed his own arrow in terms of firepower.
Regrettably, he couldn't use slow down more than a handful of times before he was gassed. Stopping time was well beyond him in his current state. Even attempting to do so had sent him into a minute long coughing spell so brutal he'd hacked up blood. The most he could do was slow the flow of time to about 1/2 its usual speed for a few seconds. He had no doubt those limits would be removed once he was no longer cursed and regained more of his strength but for now, they remained.
Finished with his experimentation for the time being, Sukuna dropped his newly acquired sword and approached his only remaining item.
The pot of very hot soup.
"System, reveal to me the effects of these different types of flames."
He'd gleaned its base information earlier while recovering between training sessions. If his thoughts were correct…
[Searching…]
[Cursed Flames]
Rare Ability
Terraria - Allows you to throw green fireballs that cannot burn inanimate objects. Instead, these flames only devour living flesh. If they make contact with inanimate objects, they will bounce off of them like rubber while sticking to flesh like glue.
[Blood Flames]
Elite Ability
Elden Ring - Allows you to wield and control Bloodflames. Conjuring these flames does not expend energy but instead consumes your vitality and health. In addition to being much more potent than regular flames, blood flames also lacerate on contact and are extremely hard to heal from.
[Holy Flame]
Elite Ability
Allows you to wield the holy flames of Angels. While not any more effective against regular living creatures like humans and animals they deal extreme damage to any unholy or darkness-aligned being and prevent them from healing. In addition, they can be used to burn away afflictions if one is skilled enough at wielding them.
[Godslayer Apostle Flames]
Elite Ability
Elden Ring - Allows you to wield and control the Godslaying Flames of the Godskin Apostles. While these flames are already plenty strong on their own, when against the divine, these flames get significantly hotter and more potent. The more divine the enemy is, the more potent the flames
'So, the apostle flames are out then.' Their main attribute was rendered useless in a world where cursed spirits and sorcerers reigned supreme. Next to go were the cursed flames. Though their title intrigued him, the fact that they were unable to burn inanimate objects significantly reduced their utility in his hands.
It came down to the blood flames and holy flame. As much as it disappointed him to lose out on fire that cut on contact, there was one thing the holy flames had that none of the other ones did. Something crucial. It wasn't that they were the antithesis of all cursed spirits. Nor was it the fact that someone like him wielding anything labeled "holy" may as well have been a joke of cosmic proportions.
No. It was the final line that sealed the deal for him.
[In addition, they can be used to burn away afflictions if one is skilled enough at wielding them.]
A potential solution to two of his curses had appeared before him not even an hour after he'd gained them.
How fortuitous.
It was time to enact one of his plans. If this worked, it would change everything.
"Hey, system," he smiled.
[Yes?]
"Let's make a binding vow."
[...]
To be continued…
AN: Ah Sukuna, never change. What does he do the moment he gains access to world ending power? Immediately try and game the system. That's our binding vow merchant.
Aside from that, I genuinely can't believe some of the rolls he's getting this early. The dragon ring giving him automatic 120% output on all his attacks? Possessing spirit + CE reinforcement making him physically capable of stomping out Toji and Maki? Getting the holy moonlight sword AND item warranty immediately after? SLOW DOWN??? Are you fucking kidding me?! I knew he would become OP eventually but damn did it happen fast.
I was so happy when the disease curse was rolled. It would have put him on his ass for a minute and heavily limited his use of abilities. That way things would have been at least somewhat challenging for him at the start. The original plan was to wait until Shibuya where he'd have healed it with RCT once he was up to 15 fingers(which, admittedly, isn't that big of a difference compared to now, but at least it would have been something) but noooo. His BS plot armor had to come in from the top rope. Damn gacha.
When I reread what the pot of soup did and factored in sukuna's ingenuity I had to scrap those plans. I'm sure some of you can guess what the binding vow he'll propose will be based on his comments. Whether it'll work out the way he intends it to is something we'll see next chapter.
Besides…who's to say that's the only binding vow he'll make?
Also, the holy moonlight sword is kinda broken in the hands of someone like Sukuna. Endless reserves + HMS = EXCALIBLAST!

[The Very Hot Soup does not allow the drinker to use the flames.]
[Rather, consuming the pot's contents only covers one in them. This leads to the drinker being burned for one minute by several very hot, very potent flames!]
"...oh, that makes sense." Really, how could he have misread something so obvious?

He scowled. "Tch. What a joke." Seriously, if all it did was cause harm then who would ever use such a thing?
Still, he wasn't done yet. Rejected once, Sukuna chose to adapt. If his first attempt failed, he would simply try again. Leaving the disease to fester as is was unacceptable. His dead tongue even more so. Especially when holy flame was potentially the key to dealing with it. All he had to do was find a way to make the item work in his favor.
He spent the next few minutes proposing different binding vows, getting declined repeatedly until—
"In exchange for increasing the potency of the other three flames, holy flame will only target the curses within me, rather than my physical body and soul. How does that sound?" It was quite the gamble, no doubt, but if it worked…

'Hmph, about time.' Eager to rid himself of his curses, Sukuna bent down and picked up the pot of very hot soup. The godslayer apostle flames would have been troublesome enough for him to wait and gain more fingers before following through with his plot if he actually were a divine entity.
Despite the amusing actions of the ruling clans after his trouncing of their champions however, he was not. As such, he deemed his current strength capable of withstanding the three flames for such a short period of time. He would survive so long as he centered reinforcement on his brain and vital organs while going all out on RCT. Everything else could be healed over time.
The King of Curses removed the lid and observed the black bubbling liquid with a raised brow. 'Frightening.' He lifted the pot to his mouth and devoured the entire thing in one go. He tasted nothing. 'Guess this dead tongue is good for one thing at least.'
He chucked the pot to the side and immediately began to run RCT and reinforcement at max output. Just in time, it seemed, as he burst into a mix of green, red, and purple flames a split second later.

Not allowing the greatest pain he'd ever experienced in his life to overwhelm him, Sukuna desperately slammed his palms together into handsigns and started chanting, doing everything he could to increase his chances at surviving these hellish flames he'd clearly underestimated.
The boost to his reinforcement and RCT aided his efforts, but his healing was still being overtaken. Slowly but surely, he was being pushed to the brink.
He pushed back.
So began the longest minute of his life.
A few seconds after the torture commenced, his straining vision was interrupted by a message.
[Feat achieved! Cure the Dead Tongue curse! +1 Gold trait ticket]
'LET'S FUCKING G-!'
"Hrgh!" His concentration slipped. The fires gained more ground.
'Focus! It's working! I must..keep…GOING!!!!'
He would not fall here!
10 seconds in and his skin had become a mix of pitch black and pure white.
After 20, the chanting ended as his tongue fell out of his mouth. Cut off and cauterized by the blood flames.
'H-heh…ironic.'
30 and he collapsed backwards, legs reduced to ash as all lower extremities were left unprotected in order to focus on essentials.
By the 45 second mark his eyes had fully melted out of his head and started dripping down his cheeks. They evaporated before even reaching his jaw.
With 5 seconds left, he began to fade in and out of consciousness.
Yet, throughout the ordeal, Sukuna never stopped fighting. His hands, charred bone at this point, remained in position. His cursed energy was rapidly depleting, but RCT and reinforcement continued to heal and protect his indispensables through nothing more than sheer stubbornness and force of will. The will of a man who did not, WOULD NOT, know defeat.
He refused too.
Sukuna surged past his limits, defiant against the fires that hungrily devoured his body and sought to claim his life.
They would fail, for his life was not theirs to take.
Finally, mercifully, the tri-colored inferno came to an end. He was unaware, nerves having been incinerated what felt like lifetimes ago.
He only realized it once a second notification appeared in his mind.
[Feat achieved! Barely survive the amplified effects of the very hot soup and drastically weaken the severity 19 disease curse! +1 Diamond ability ticket]
He would have grinned if he had lips.
'H-heh, a-as expec–OH FUCK!!!'
There were the nerves. He really didn't miss them.
With his awareness fading and reserves a pittance compared to earlier, Sukuna focused the last of his dwindling energy on healing his upper torso. Everything else could be healed later. It was a slow and excruciating process but eventually, he went from a scorched skeleton with no legs and a few organs to a lump of meat.
Right before he passed out, one thought drifted through his mind.
'…what did it mean by weaken?'
Somehow, by the time he woke up, the pain had gotten even worse. Fortunately, the brat ended up consuming another one of his fingers while he was unconscious. It, along with the cursed energy he'd regenerated, had given him just enough of a boost to return to full health.
With his health came lucidity. A complete understanding of what he'd accomplished.
And what he'd failed too.
'All that, and the blasted curse is still there.'
It was hard to tell as he no longer felt ill, but the system and a thorough self diagnosis revealed the truth. Dimished though it may be, the disease remained.
'Tch. If that didn't work, then I guess no matter how many fingers I get, RCT alone won't be enough to cure this thing.'
He took a deep breath, held it for a few seconds, and slowly exhaled in a controlled manner. He felt good as new. 'Well, at least this is far more manageable.' His cursed energy reserves had fully recovered and his output had been restored to 80%. With the bellowing dragoncrest ring equipped, he was just shy of being back at full fighting capacity.
It wouldn't last, however. The system had informed him that over time, the curse would grow in strength and his output would steadily drop once more. All his efforts had gained him outside of his tickets was more time on the clock.
He would deal with it when the time came. For now, he chose to spend his earnings, starting from the bottom.

[Novice Communication]
Common Skill
Communication is the ability to better understand what others mean and how fo convey your thoughts effectively. At a novice level, you may not be that much better than the regular person, but at least you know how to properly communicate with people, which is a strangely rare skill these days.
'Great, more trash.'
Next up was gold.

[Android]
Rare Trait
Race Change - You are an android, a higher class of machine-flesh hybrid. As an Android, you possess increased physical abilities and energy reserves. Your natural energy regeneration is lessened, but you can charge yourself like a machine. Your effectiveness when wielding Tinker abilities and technology is increased. But you are also rendered vulnerable to Electricity and Interfacing. You also possess basic augments such as a computer in your head and retractable mantis blades in your arms and legs(Cyberpunk). You can also tinker with yourself to change your body to an extent(You still have fleshy bits).
[Race change traits can be rerolled. Would you like to reroll?]
He raised a brow, intrigued by the first race change roll he'd received, but dismissed it in the end. He had no interest in becoming part machine when it presented such easily exploitable weaknesses.
'Reroll.'

"It was originally going to be -ist". You possess greatly increased agility, allowing you to move considerably faster with your body and increasing your reflexes and coordination to match
'Much better.' Sukuna noticed the changes immediately. His body felt lighter, quicker, able to respond faster. His reflexes, already exceptional, had increased even further.
It was a good roll, but he expected this next one to be even better.
'Now for the real prize.' He rolled his diamond ability ticket, eager to see just what such a high ranking ticket could produce.

[Mystic Eyes of Enchantment]
Elite Ability
Allows you to hypnotise and mind-control those who make eye contact with you. This can be broken out by high willpower targets or targets stronger than the user.
"Hoh? Special eyes eh?" With the power to control people as well. Yes, he could certainly find use for those. With his strength, none would be able resist him.
Out of tickets to spend, Sukuna spent the following days split between resting, training, learning, and watching. Observing this new era left a sour taste in his mouth. Gojo Satoru not being in charge was already enough of a sign that things were much worse now compared to his time.
A hierarchy based on anything other than strength was boring.
He continued asking the system questions as well. Less about the gacha itself and more about how it would interact with him. More specifically, his vessel.
"What are the chances the brat will be able to benefit from any of my rolls?"
He didn't like the answer.
[The user's host is unable to access the chaos gacha.]
[They are, however, able to benefit from the user's application of abilities and skills.]
[Similarly to how the users curse technique will eventually be engraved onto Itadori Yuji, so too will any skills or abilities used while piloting his body.]
[The more they are used, the easier it will be for him to awaken them.]
[As for items and familiars, any familiar or sentient item that aligns more with his nature than the users may choose to bond with him instead.]
[Traits do not bleed over whatsoever.]
An annoying but not entirely unfathomable situation. Still, the mere suggestion of such an outcome had been revolting enough for him to come to a decision.
He chose to make another binding vow.
It took a few tries to get right but ultimately, he and the system came to an agreement.
The vow could be broken up into multiple parts.
First, he gave up ever being able to roll any familiars or sentient items. Maybe they could have proven useful at some point. With how powerful he was becoming though, he doubted it.
Second, every ticket earned from this point forward aside from familiar tickets would be random. Losing out on assigned rolls, when abilities was the category he was most likely to earn as they pertained to fights and showcases of might, would set him back but he'd recover.
After all, what he'd gained would make up for it.
Whenever he earned a familiar ticket, they would transform into what the system dubbed challenge tickets. Once rolled, whatever familiar he ended up getting would be deposited into his vicinity where they would engage in combat. After inevitably killing it, he would then receive a choice ticket of the same rarity as the original familiar ticket.
It worked like a cursed spirit subjugation ritual in some ways. Were anyone else to get involved in his duel or he forfeited—laughable—he would automatically be disqualified from the fight and lose the ticket. Additionally, the next familiar ticket of equal value would drop a rank as punishment.
'Like that would ever happen.'
He didn't lose.
With this, he'd prevented any possibilities of mutiny and erased the chance of having to take on anything that would choose to side with the brat. Letting him benefit from his presence anymore than he already had or would was unacceptable.
Speaking of his jailer, watching him and the rabble that passed for young sorcerers these days was sickening. For the standards to have dropped so low…how disappointing. The spunky girl had an interesting gimmick with her ability to target the soul but that was it. Her lacking physicality was telling enough that she relied on her technique almost entirely.
It was while he was busy training slow down that they stumbled upon quite the interesting situation. A cursed spirit had absorbed one of his fingers and was toying with them. The girl had fallen for a trap and was likely fighting for her life. The spiky haired brat who was present for his incarnation had run off to try and rescue her.
Disgraces, all of them.
Still, this could work in his favor. He just had to play his cards right.
Despite the brats pleading, he maintained a disinterested facade. He was no dog to jump at the order of its master nor could he appear too willing to help, lest his true intentions come through. He enjoyed the ensuing crying and lamenting. Right when Sukuna was about to interfere, however, he felt himself be thrust into the proverbial driver's seat.
"He actually forced me to take control? I'd be annoyed if it didn't make things easier for me." He looked at the cursed spirit who had gone from gleeful to terrified at his presence.
"You know, if things were different, I may have had some use for you. I can't kill the others without this annoying little shit taking control so that task would've fallen to you. It'd have been a good show and something to torment him with for a while, but now…" he trailed off, healing his injuries and manifesting the bellowing dragoncrest ring. "Now you get to be my test dummy. Try not to die too quickly." He smiled at the curse, patting its shoulder encouragingly.
Then, he reached over with that same hand, cupped the side of its face, and slammed the spirit into the ground hard enough to leave a crater.
"What's the matter? Don't tell me you're done already?" He mocked it. The angered growls he received were enough of an answer. "Thats it. Come on, try harder! There's still some stuff I wanna try out!" He stomped it through the bridge, sending them both careening towards the water below.
He saw the curse trying to grip one of his ankles and activated slow down. Just like in his domain, time decelerated. 'No, that's not right.' He spotted the difference instantly. Whereas everything in his domain was affected outside of himself, it seemed as though he could only influence whatever was within about a 10 meter radius in the real world.
'Make's sense.' If it could affect the entire planet, then there's no way slow down would only be an epic ranked ability. The limit likely only applied to his current self as well. He had full confidence that number would increase once he regained more of his strength.
Before the curse managed to make contact, he gripped the offending arm, tore it off, hopped away to sit on one of the slowly falling pieces of rubble surrounding them, and allowed time to resume its normal pace.
"Even a cursed spirit would miss their arm, right?"
He laughed at the way its face paled and eyes bulged. It hadn't even perceived his movements. Once they landed, he continued to play with it, using the curse as a way to stretch his legs and experiment with slow down in combat. The special grade stood no chance.
Special grade, what a joke.
"I can't believe you and I are supposed to be in the same category. How degrading," he sighed. The thief had just finished regenerating from its latest beating but he was getting bored. There was one last thing he needed to check.
"As a thank you for being such a good sport, why don't I show you what true jujutsu looks like?" Sukuna raised his hands and brought them together, forming the enmaten seal.
"Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine."
The moment his domain manifested, the curse was cut into over a dozen pieces. "Sheesh, I meant to cut you into three but I guess you really are weak, huh?" He dismissed the domain, having confirmed his suspicions. The ring boosted the strength of his domain expansion as well.

He reached over with a hand and plucked his finger free from the fading curse. 'Gotta hurry before the brat takes over.' He brought the digit to his mouth and swallowed it, feeling his strength grow.
[Feat achieved! Reclaim one of your fingers from a finger bearer! +1 silver random ticket]
Pleased at having received such news, Sukuna prepared to return to his innate domain
Only…he didn't.
"Stop screwing around! If you're gonna take over just do it already!"
Nothing.
"…brat?"
Could it be?
Absolute silence.
…
'Heh.'
To be continued…
AN: Sukuna turned into a modern era kid for a sec when he cured the dead tongue curse lol. Got hyped af.
Omg was this chapter a struggle. That first vow failing was actually what I planned to go with till I was reminded what the pot actually did. Had to scrap a lot of writing. If this chapter feels choppy and slightly off at some bits that's why. Went through multiple rewrites and had to move around a lot of stuff to try and make it work. Did my best to clean it up but this is my limit. Sorry, but I just can't keep going. Still 4 other chapters I gotta fix too…
On an unrelated note, how y'all feel about my interpretation of slow down? Affecting time across the entire world is too op for an epic level ability imo, especially in Sukuna's hands with the other rolls he'll be getting. This seems more reasonable and in line with jjk as a verse. It working on everything inside his domains range was something I thought went well with a domain expansions video game like buff. Eventually, his range may expand. Lmk if the "nerf" is reasonable or not.
I guess the gacha wants him to be a speed demon. Racer stacking with possessing spirit and slow down is gonna be nasty. Dabura got competition perhaps???
Side note, if the finger bearer touched him once, the ticket would've been downgraded to silver. That's the only reason it's gold even though he vastly outclassed it.
Sorry to anyone looking forward to him getting any familiars. This is how I thought the gacha would work for Sukuna when he's trapped in Yuji, who was supposed to get the CG originally before having it swiped. You know sukuna's gonna take any chance he can to keep yuji down. Completely cutting off familiars and sentient items on the very real chance one of them sides with yuji over him is def something I think he'd do. Feels like they'd go to waste when sukuna is so strong already. I also don't feel confident enough to juggle familiars into the plot and have them remain relevant. He'll still be getting the ten shadows though so there's that. Big Raga will show up.
Hopefully the challenge system makes up for it to those who are disappointed. It's also a way to get him to fight more often and push him depending on who he rolls. Once again, shout out Bronz for helping me work that out.
