So Jack was one of the best soldiers that Max had in the army, with his skills as a hunter it was important that Jack lead a group of soldiers to kill wild animals so that they could ensure the safety of all soldiers.
Jack was happy with the confidence that Captain Max was giving him by letting him go to the Royal road that was close to the forest, Jack would even lead a group of soldiers on a hunt which was a position of authority in the army.
Jack knew that as he was a prisoner he shouldn't have that kind of help, but he was happy with that, Jack really didn't intend to escape through the forest, he wanted to help the soldiers and Captain Max, so he would still be in town and when had an opportunity he would kill Jan Stokes.
After talking to Captain Max, Jack went to meet Paul to talk to him about the good news that Captain Max had told him, that day Aaron was not in the defense tower because he had gone elsewhere with the others his friends.
Jack told everything Captain Max had said to him, Paul was not surprised that Captain Max allowed Jack to walk normally through the city alone, but he was very surprised to learn that Captain Max was going to send Jack to the Royal Road.
Paul did not expect Captain Max to trust Jack so much to allow him to stay close to the forest every day, which was where Jack knew how to walk and could escape without anyone being able to capture him.

A large building had been made so that soldiers could sleep and eat close to where the defense tower was being built, that construction had to be increased before construction of the defense tower began.
When Jack and the other soldiers arrived at the building, the soldiers who were there had already packed up their things and quickly went to the carriages to return to the capital, the horses made a few stops on the way to rest so they could make the trip back as soon as they arrived.
Every soldier in the building knew Jack and knew about the story that Captain Max had pulled him out of prison, they also knew that Jack was more skilled than most soldiers.
There was only one more special soldier in this building, that was soldier Robert, Robert was one of the soldiers Max trusted most and so Max asked Robert to stay permanently on the Royal road.
So unlike the other soldiers who could always go back to the capital after 4 months, Robert had already been on the Royal road for a few years, so Robert was the leader of the soldiers and everyone respected him a lot who stayed on the Royal road for so many years.
So Jack had to go to where Robert was to bring him the letter that Captain Max wrote saying that he would give Jack a group of soldiers to lead to killing the wild animals in the forest.
In the letter Captain Max said everything about what Robert needed to know about Jack, after all, Robert only knew what the other soldiers told him that Jack was a prisoner, and Max had released him because of his experience as a hunter and now Jack was a Soldier.
"So you are Jack, I heard a lot about you from the other soldiers, I heard the story that you were arrested because you killed some assassins who invaded your village and are now a soldier like me."
"I trust Max and if he believes in you I will trust you too, Jack, we really need someone with his experience to kill some of these wild animals, more than 10 soldiers have died in the past few months and we cannot have any more deaths."
"When you want I can let you choose some soldiers to go with you to the forest, I ask that you try to choose the soldiers that are willing to go with you first and then choose who you want."
